Except for Sunrise it's a completely new staff for the franchise, cool. Now makes sense that the designs look a bit different.

Director and chara designer worked together in Mitsuboshi Colors so I might check that out.

Nijigasaki is actually a real spin-off series in the franchise since they are doing a lot of things differently. There's the 10th main character, and presumably the non-idol MC, revealed just the other day.

There's another LL anime early in development which is presumably more similar to mainline series and will keep the same character designs. https://myanimelist.net/anime/41169/Love_Live_Shin_Series_Project

Also, sunrise-produced anime 'Nami yo Kiitekure' (Wave, Listen to Me!) airing this Spring shares the same character designer so you would expect around the same quality.
