Four years have passed since the events of the Shirobako TV anime. Aoi Miyamori is busy with her daily tasks at Musashino Animation when Watanabe calls upon her to create an anime film production. Unexpected obstacles stand in Aoi's way, and she worries about being able to complete the film. To get the job done, she teams up with Kaede Miyai and other MusAni members. Will they be able to complete the movie on time?

Kaede Miyai: Ayane Sakura (5-toubun no Hanayome)
Kyuuji Takahashi: Atsushi Tamaru (Tamako Love Story)
Erika Yano: Yuri Yamaoka* (Hibike! Euphonium)
Tsubaki Andou: Ikumi Hayama* (Strike the Blood)
Sara Satou: Madoka Yonezawa* (White Album 2)
Yuka Okitsu: Mai Nakahara* (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru)
Daisuke Hiraoka: Yuusuke Kobayashi* (Darwin's Game)

*These voice actors played multiple supporting characters in the original TV anime series and will be returning to voice the characters listed above.

Other returning voice cast includes Juri Kimura as Aoi Miyamori, Haruka Yoshimura as Ema Yasuhara, Haruka Chisuga as Shizuka Sakaki, Asami Takano as Misa Toudou, and Hitomi Ohwada as Midori Imai.

Tsutomu Mizushima is once again helming the production at P.A. Works. Michiko Yokote will continue with series composition, and Kanami Sekiguchi is returning as the character designer and chief animation director. Motonari Ichikawa is newly credited with 3DCG direction. The theme song, titled "Hoshi wo Atsumete," will be performed by fhána.

Shirobako is an original series written by Michiko Yokote. The TV anime ran for 24 episodes from October 2014 to March 2015. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series in North America and released it on Blu-ray and DVD across two volumes in 2016.

Can't wait for this. Hopefully we get it in North America sooner than I'm expecting [which is a full year after initial release...]
