| Watched a very vintage nip film the other day. Kurosawa's first film, Sugata Sanshiro. Apparently the sequel was funded by their propaganda department (towards the end of ww2), the main character yeets an american boxer. Main character is a judo guy, wonder if Kurosawa put them in an octagon. |

| I have a British Film Institute subscription (that I very rarely use), they're currently adding loads of Jap live action. Virtually everything from Kurasawa and Yasajiro Ozu and then a wide pool of others. |

| It has free, subscription and then rental stuff. It's just a netflix style app. Not sure about screenings, probably some perks with their store. |
