I can't really think of the just one, because my favorite director is Shinichiro Watanabe and all of his works are from different studio - Sunrise (Cowboy Bebop), Manglobe (Samurai Champloo), MAPPA (Zankyou no Terror, Sakamichi no Apollon), Bones (Space Dandy) etc.

I'm not sure that MAPPA is the best one in the industry, but for me, it has the most in-depth ideas and concepts to reveal people's nature.

- Hanasaku Iroha, Sakura Quest, Shirobako, Irozuku Sekai, Nagi Asu, Angel Beats etc.

They don't make anime for everyone but they make a point of making original shows and they do it very well.

Seven Arcs: Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha series (I know it's a spin-off of triangle heart 3 but counts as original)

Their original slice of life anime have been pretty great.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron
