![]() The Jump Festa 2020 event announced a television anime adaptation of Ryousuke Takeuchi and Hikaru Miyoshi's Yuukoku no Moriarty (Moriarty the Patriot) manga on Sunday. ![]() Everyone is familiar with the story of Sherlock Holmes, but what about his long-standing rival Moriarty? Yuukoku no Moriarty tells an equally compelling story with Moriarty as the protagonist in London, during the Golden Age of Britain. Rather than solving mysteries, Moriarty uses his sharp intellect to formulate a plan to improve the state of London. (Source: Tokyo Otaku Mode, edited) Takeuchi and Hikaru launched the crime suspense manga based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series in Jump SQ. in August 2016. Shueisha shipped the tenth volume on November 1. Yuukoku no Moriarty has a cumulative 1.7 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation. Shueisha's Jump J Books imprint published a novel by Yousuke Saita subtitled "Hiiro" no Kenkyuu (A Study in "Scarlet") last November. Saita published a second novel, subtitled Kinjirareta Asobi (Forbidden Play), on November 1. A musical adaptation of the manga took place in Tokyo and Osaka in May 2018. A second musical will be performed in Tokyo and Kyoto in July and August 2020. The manga is also inspiring a stage play adaptation that will run in Tokyo and Osaka in January and February 2020. Definitely curious to see how this’ll play out! On another note, this just reminded me that I still have to watch Season 4 of Sherlock, the tv series feat. Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. ![]() #Anime4Life be my Life Motto! #PrayForKyoAni |

There is a definite pattern in how those series with "ikemen danshi" evolve storywise. That pattern is rather bland and frankly does not have much "Art" in it. I will however visit the discussion threads from time to time, reading what others think on the series, and if I am proven wrong I will publicly apologize. Happened like once in several years, do not get your hopes up. ![]() Re:formed |
The artstyle really resembles Psycho Pass's art style. I think the mangaka is either Amano Akira's big fan or one of her former assistants. The drawings have a lot of similarities, yet they're different and tell their own stories. I am interested because of the art, but the fact that it's Moriarty's story makes me not that interested. I'll probably check it out! ![]() |
I do read the manga few months ago and stopped cuz its update are so slow. Now, it's adapted into anime. I'm so excited! This one is freckin crazy one! it's a very good one. ![]() |
