"This is horseshit. The flashback only makes up a fraction of the fight itself and only makes up 2 and a half minutes of a 17 minute fight sequence and is played most at the end like every standard shounen fight goes. "
The Suneater fight wasn't 17 minutes of action. It was only around 5 minutes of fighting (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z21P3HZgkk&t=233s) with flashbacks/monologues interrupting the story/action. The first Suneater flashback at the beginning of the episode, Heroes spending like 4 minutes talking about what to do, 3 minutes of Suneater's back story, and another minute of the fodder yakuza backstory.
Season 4 has more sakuga of characters barely moving. The best use of Sakuga was of Eater quirk moving around and his Suneater's tentacles whipping around. The best part of the animation was the Eater dodging the tentacles and the tentacles in the still shot of him moving. Everything else is rather static.
Kirishima's flashback takes over a 1/3rd of the fight. Like 5 minutes for the actua l fight and 3 minutes for the flashback.
" His relationship with Mirio was played up in a prior episode. Good job paying attention. "
The prior episode was focused on Deku and Mirio about to start the Eri rescue mission. If their relationship was played up to, then we wouldn't have needed as many flashbacks as needed in a solo episode. Again, I already made the comparison. Todoroki's flashbacks take the span of multiple episodes throughout the arc while Suneater's was all used at one episode.
"The fight was well done and executed"
I never said Kirishima's moment was bad, but the actual fight from a technical standpoint was literally Spear and Shield and a simple guard to counter strat. It's a very basic/boring type of fight and the fight does not last long. It was a well animated one-shot and a good character moment from Kirishima.
You're getting offended for no reason other than me posting my gripes with this season.

I already said it and I will say it again, this season has poor direction and pacing. Sun Eater's fight was filled with a bunch of flashbacks, stills , and monologues in betweens that disrupt the fight. So, you would get 20 seconds of sakuga, then 3 minutes of a monologue, than 5 seconds of sakuga, then 1 minute monologues. I have already agreed that the animation might be better, but due to poor direction, all those scenes feel completely unnoticed or ignored. Don't mind that most of the season has worse animation on average and its peaks don't make up for it.
