The good scars: All the shows in my favourites and the shows I gave 10/10.

The bad scars: Darling in the Franxx, after the halfway point it made me frick Kokoro and give her Bebe.

Masou Gauken HxH... I can tolerate borderline hentai if the characters are likable. But this show oh boy... It just lewd stuff just for the sake of lewdness absolutely no substance. Not mention the characters are so bland and the artstyle is so damn cringy. I would go further but I rather keep it PG-13.

For me it is anime that make you think like Utena and Lain. They make me think things like "what if the world is a simulation and life is truly meaningless" and things along those lines. Like sure gore and f*cked up stories are one thing, but anime that give you an existential crisis are a whole other level of f*cked.

I knew that the eclipse from Berserk would always haunt me. Not scary in the traditional sense but I was pretty messed up after I finished the show. And re-reading it in the manga was even worse.

Uta no Prince-sama s1 (this broke me)

A long time ago I still believed that I could get hyped over reverse harems. I fed a false hope that diamonds similar to Saiunkoku monogatari, Trinity blood and Hakuouki were waiting for me to find them.

But filth like Diabolic Lovers, Brothers Conflict, Amnesia and the worst of them all Dance with Devils (which I couldn't finish) came out and didn't stop.

Night Shift Nurses, Bible Black, and Euphoria qualify for this.

Tatsuya's Big D energy is huge enough to scare people away.
Logan Lerman is the love of my life. Someday we'll marry.
Asuna, Emilia and Zelda are the ultimate goddesses of everything that's good and pure.
Zack Fair, Mahiro Fuwa and Edward Elric are the best boys of all time.
Hagane no Renkinjutsushi is the best work of fiction ever recorded in human history.
Yuki Kajiura's music can cure and heal every disease ever known by men. Oblivious is her magnum opus.
Women are the scum of this earth, and I can assure you they're well aware of that.

One is a lie. The other ones are not. DEUS VULT!

Angel Beats scarred me the most, I remember watching it sneakily because it was past my bedtime when I was 12 yrs old. I was young, gullible and just started watching anime I thought it would have happy ending. It was the first anime where I really cried my balls out and I can't even re-watch the series let alone some finish video clips posted on Facebook.

If we exclude hentai, my answer is Imo Soko Ni Iru Boku.

If we include hentai, then it's definitely Euphoria. Just thinking about it... Can I get some mind bleach, please?

Berserk (1997) Once you've seen the eclipse, there's not a lot that can shock you anymore.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - a friend of mine has recommended it to me saying: "you will like it". So I've watched it without checking what it really was. You can only imagine how terrified I was after episode 4...

many would say it is not classified as a horror anime but I consider Lain an existential horror (or maybe thriller to be precise)
