| I really liked Balsa from Seirei no Moribito and Dola (the old pirate lady) from Castle in the Sky as mother figures. Definitely agree with Akio from Clannad, he's always been my favourite anime father figure. |

| I would say Saiki Kusuo's parents are the most endearing mum and dad figures I've ever seen in anime. They play off each other so well, and the way they form a large basis for Saiki's motivations (normally to avoid having to deal with their eccentric or soppy behaviour) makes them integral to the story. |

| My personal favs are Kaminogi Asuka (Haruka's mom from Noein), she raised her child alone, she's fun and super confident, a great parent. As for a dad, i can only think now of Gai's dad (from Naruto), because he has honor and he educated Gai incredible. The joke answers would be: Ikari Gendo Ikari Yui Grisha Yeager Hanabatake Yoshie and not anime character, but that scumbag from 20th century boys, he's like the "best" dad, better than even Bondad (only connoisseurs know of him) |
