Pretty enjoyable 2nd episode, pretty cool opening quite a bit catchy.

Romani such a Merlin fanboy and lold at dem sips.
Fou kicking Merlin was hilarious.
Ana too precious hnnggg.

Wasn't expecting that kind of personality from Gil either.

Well it's because everyone, including our MC, has the image of the Archer Gilgamesh. Right now he's not on his 'combat' class, but rather on his 'ruler' class. He's a Caster right now rather than his more well known Archer class, so his personality is slightly different.

The OP got me giddy as fuck seeing the unlimited budget works as well as Leonidas finally getting his animated debut. The episode was fantastic as well; I'm liking how they're handling the exposition segments stemming from the game by keeping the shots dynamic, or by switching to different scenery. Also glad we made it to Gilgamesh this episode, perfect place for a cliffhanger. I usually wait until after the first episode to see if a show's animation is truly great, and it's looking like our quartz funds are being used to their fullest. The best part is that it's only gonna get better from here.

tl;dr Loved the episode, can't wait for Saturdays.

Leonidas's debut was in Last Encore but we dont talk about that.

Well, that one isnt a Servant so he isnt "Caster".

Another awesoem episode!

Enkidu was bad after all!

Merlin and ana made their entrance, and i found Merlin amusing her teasings!

Ana and Enkidu figh was so wonderfull animated damn!

They managed to enter in uruk, and it is really elaborated, and well represented, so beautifull!

They encounter Gilgamesh, and he looks to be a good king, but seems they will have a fight next episode, looking forward to it!

Dun like the OP, but man, this is some pretty animation. Quite a good show so far, as far as Fate fans and those who know the lore are concerned.

Great episode
But why the Score going down

Because only fucking retards score a show before the last 1/3 of episodes are out, let alone when only 2 episodes of 21 are out.

Looking forward to Gilgamesh in all his glory next week. Considering what we've seen so far I'm expecting sakuga porn.

A vast improvement from the last episode, thanks to Merlin having such charisma and chemistry to bounce off the cast. Plus that small character moment with Ana and the guard.

I liked the OP a lot, very fitting for the first peppy and bright half of Babylonia. It'll surely change midway.

I'm an anime only watcher. I love the Fate Franchise but I never had the time nor the courage to plunge into the grindfest/rnghell that is F/GO.

Honestly I liked a lot that episode. Those "camera movement" in the fight scene looked like usual ufotable tricks, seems like they studied well lol.

Honestly it had just enough exposition, just enough fight scene, just enough character introduction. The pacing was good and I overall loved the episode.

Also I loved both OP and ED. USG was a strange choice but it works IMO. And I'm happy to hear mah girl Eir Aoi in the Ending, with the visuals it really brought me back memories of Memoria (heh) in F/Z.

Well ... Enkidu showed his true intentions, fortunately Merlin made his appearance with Anna and saved Ritsuka and Mash in time.

Enkidu's fight against Anna was excellent, I really liked the quality of the art and animation put into this scene, but finally what I liked most was how Merlin cheated Enkidu with that illusory magic.

Merlin seems like a nice guy, but very skilled at the time of teasing people, even so his personality caused me a lot of grace and that moment when Fou punches him had me laughing a lot.
Romani made me laugh a lot as how he reacted upon hearing that the great Sorcerer was with them, the same was with the reaction of Da Vinci when Merlin made fun of the other Casters I couldn't stop laughing.
The first thing that went through my mind when I saw Anna after this episode was to give her a lot of headpats, she is so cute and adorable, that moment when she is shy because the guard is ofering her cookies, that melted my heart and She is very agile and skilled in combat, I wonder what kind of servant she is?
Mash still has that personality that drives me crazy about her, she is so cute.

Uruk has an incredible design, as it should be the last fortress for humanity and the introduction of Gilgamesh was excellent, the great king attending to his duties and at the time of getting serious I was given shivers when he opened the book, I hope Ritsuka and Mash manages to convince the King before the situation gets out of control.

Well, I liked the Op a lot, especially the visuals since I saw several heroic spirits, some that I can intuit who they are, but I prefer to wait for them to make their introduction in future episodes, but the ones that most caught my attention were the three ladies who were next to Enkidu.
The ED was quite relaxing and pleasant to the ears, as expected from Eir Aoi, the visuals are beautiful.

Fujimaru and Mash's adventures continue as they gain new allies and face new threats in their quest to save the world. Merlin seems like a funny guy, but I don't understand why is everyone so upset with him. Sure, they respect his abilities as a Mage but they don't seem to be overly fond of him as a person. Can anyone explain, please? I already said I'm no Fate lore expert.

Anyway, it was a bit unexpected to have Enkidu suddenly become an enemy to the heroes, especially after he guided them to Uruk. Gilgamesh also seems to be set up as an antagonist. In this episode, we get a better understanding of what the heroes have to do to succeed in their quest and it's obvious they will face some heavy opposition from some of the historical figures in this era.

The newest anime of the Fate is moving along quite nicely. This episode was great. The exposition was manageable, the fight scenes were amazing and the new characters will definitely make things interesting. All in all, this new series is shaping up to be one of the best in the season.

Episode 2: ATTACK OF FOU!!

LOVE this episode, and i love the visuals for both ED and OP...

Now to episode itself, enkidu just show some of his fighting skills to Ana, Merlin, Mash, and ritsuka, but well merlin save them by using his skills. Hahaha

• my favorite part- the attack of Fou... fou is so cute when he did use his special move to attack merlin.. FOU FOU...

• MERLINS STATEMENT irritates Da vinci (caster in FGO), and the rest of casters in the game... hahaha... but well i do agree with his statement... hahaha...

Next week: its time for king Gilgamesh to shine... hahaha... (and get ready for Ishtar to made an apperance again)

well the sound is usually under appreciated.

For me I found the use of the musics to be very appropriate. Rly love the Gilgamesh theme playing the moment he stood up. Bone chilling.

PS: Making siduri so good looking is only gonna make me suffer more later. DAMN IT!! T^T

Really enjoyed the episode, especially the scene at the end with CasGil, he was the one I picked up with the free 4 star ticket so I'm very excited to see more of him.

It seems with the OP and ED they're going with a sort of Fate/Zero vibe with an upbeat OP like Oath Sign and ending with Eir Aoi just like Zero. The second cour might feature a more darker OP ED combo.

Da Vinci and Romani sipping coffee in the background had me dying. My God, I'm not a FGO player but I'm loving this adaptation so much xD

Also, it seems I'm the only one who was excited when Leonidas showed up... oh well. So keeping those beasts at bay for six months, uh? I wouldn't expect any less from him but now, I can't wait to see Ushi and Benkei too.

Overall, great episode. I'm really liking the pacing so far and the moments dedicated to characters exposition are well balanced as well. Not heavy or boring in the slightest. The OP and ED are also nice, by the way.

The fight scene, though a bit brief, was stunning in terms of animation and directing. Honestly, the general aesthetic and scenery of the show are very impressive (the level of detail Uruk has is incredible) so I really hope CloverWorks can keep this level of quality throughout the season.

That scene with Gil makes no sense. Why would a KING fight some weird people the very instant he meets them? That shit screams "hey, I'm a fucking game adaptation. and the player is supposed to kick that guy's ass right about now" which is NOT a good thing.

I get it, people were fighting all the time in all other Fate/ shows... but this looks different because Gil actually does his job, orders people around, etc. He should've said something like "who the hell are you, gtfo" instead of fighting.

I mean, I LIKED that episode... but I can't get rid of this feeling that it's not even a real anime. It's an animated game.

Did you even watch episode 1 yet ? the king know chaldea coming to him.

Also the story made by Nasu it self who made fate series.

And it's Gilgamesh you know how strong he is, specially as king ofc he do some test before hire mc for a job.

Would a presiden hire a useless people that cannot do anything, weakling, weeb and trash ? That's common sense.

Do you even have a job in real life ? Did your boss even test you and ask you many thing before hire you then kick you out from company because get rejected.

Do you expect Gilgamesh to task Chaldea with defending the city if he doesn't know how strong they are? Gil doing that would constitute the "animated game" plot that you're describing.

And Gil wouldn't tell Chaldea to gtfo because he knows for sure they are coming to fix the singularity (Clairvoyance skill). See the beginning of episode 1.

No need for your snarky remarks about a job or whatever. It still makes no sense because if he knew that they were coming, he also knew they are strong. There's literally 0 point in fighting.

This is not isekai with with over powered Mc kirito, you clearly not watching episode 00 and episode 1. Smh the mc don't even know what is going on now.

A president or a king hire random people that he don't know, to defend a town from endless raid of monster immediately ?

Your logic is the most absolute nonsense I ever seen in my life.

Holy damn, good op and ed, solid stuff right here 8/10 for now, depending on how they handle this from now on, especially, on the latter parts of the singularity this might end as a 9/10 for me. Really enjoying it so far.

Why would he know how strong they are?

But even if he knew what they faced before, EVERYTHING in this age is many times stronger. One of the enemies is said by Gil himself to be his equal in every way.

If they cant even beat a mock battle against Gil then they are useless.

I'm sick to hear the term "Issekai" used as a generic high fantasy story+mix with fantasy science and time travel. It's Doctor Who "Issekai" now? Not that's anything wrong with Issekai: Escaflowne, Narnia, Twelve Kingdoms, and other unforgettable works are based on such a premise.

Gilgamesh is aware of Chaldea and that they have fixed six singularities prior. There are other reasons that aren't quite due to Ritsuka and Mash but it's spoilerly to say, if the anime chooses to portray them.

1. Isekai translates to "different world".
2. Time travel + alternative timeline = traveling to a different world.

Now stop being a retarded potato please. I'm a fucking retard myself and even I understand that it is indeed an isekai anime.

Are you being honestly daft or just ignorant? Singularities are not "alternative timelines", at least not the ones in the main story: they are alterations and aberrations made on Panhistory that destroyed a foundation value of the human order which led to the collapse of history and inciniration of humanity. They have to fix that to restore that period into the timeline, they don't exist separate to the normal panhistory at all because history is incinirated; once the cause is dealt with, that period is restored so the Singularity disappears as it is part of panhistory and the inciniration would cease. Not these ones at least (there are indeed filler ones that aren't important for events that met your criteria + and Fuyuki I guess, but it's not related to Babylonia specifically). They aren't parallel worlds exactly in Type Moon jargon. Think of them as blotches of ink on a tapestry that ruins it that they must clean. It's like saying "Back to the Future" or "Time Squad" are Issekai, so please don't. They are still very much our world.

Now for spoilers for part 2:

Major step up from the first episode in every single aspect.

The first Episode was pretty bad and did a very bad job at introducing us to this world, it's characters and the animation wasn't that great either.

Hope they keep this up atleast to some degree.

That Isekai discussion above... lol. No, Fate is not an Isekai but a Fantasy anime, know the difference.

For the OP and ED itself;
They're great! Good to see the visuals now for the Opening, made it stand out and more likable. Also good to see they're breaking the singer-chain with Unison Square Garden! The song fits the opening, great choice.
And there we have our Aoi Eir again! What a soothing Ending!

Episode itself:
This was better than Episode 1. Good to see that regarding animation, Clover can match up for now and especially curious if they can keep this up. They should have a nice budget for this.

I feel like the visuals of this show are way more appealing than SAO Aliciziation so far. It's got that hand-drawn/sakuga feel (ignoring the demon beasts) which really stands out during the action scenes with Ishtar in ep 1 and now Ana/Enkidu in ep 2. SAO feels computer-generated/cheap in comparison. Just had to say since these two shows are probably going to be the most popular of the season and I watched them back to back.

Fou is the MVP of this episode, mainly for that epic kick at Merlin's face! XD

Cloverworks are doing a superb job with the production values of this episode again. The brief fighting against Enkidu, who turned out to be the enemy, was very pleasing in terms of character and camera movement moving in harmony and the sound effects sound good as well.

Merlin also sounded a bit smug when he was talking about how he was a super caster, which sounded in a way that he was talking down at any other normal caster out there. One of which was Leonardo Da Vinci, who looked had an annoyed smile on her face after hearing those words from Merlin. Also, when Roman and Leonardo were drinking their tea, they both had an unimpressed facial expression on them, which I found to be funny. =)

The OP/ED songs from Unison Square Garden and Eir Aoi sound pretty good, with the animations for them both being even more impressive.

Mash and Ritsuka against Gilgamesh for the next episode sounds pretty exciting, I must say. I have high hopes for it. =D
