![]() NHK revealed on Friday that Takuya Mitsuda's baseball manga Major 2nd will get another anime season. It will premiere on NHK's Educational channel in April 2020. Major 2nd began serializing in Shounen Sunday in March 2015 and currently has 16 volumes in print, with the 17th volume shipping October 18. The manga is the sequel of Mitsuda's original 1994 manga, which ended in July 2010 with a story spanning over 78 compiled volumes. Major was adapted into six TV seasons, with the former half produced by Studio Hibari. SynergySP produced the latter half of the TV series, a movie, and three OVA episodes. OLM animated the first season of Major 2nd in Spring 2018 and it aired for 25 episodes. Crunchyroll provided a simulcast on its platform.
