I love Sherlock Holmes and this interpretation was sooo good and interesting! I like the fact that it's a japanese Sherlock in today's Japan. Moriarty looks interesting as well. I'm looking forward to the next episodes!

It definitely tries to be entertaining but I didn't find it interesting in the least.

I don't really like detective stories by themselves and it seems like the show will be episodic connected through all the weird and very annoying characters. And oh, there are 24 episodes overall, I think I'll pass.

I really enjoyed this pilot episode. Their manager , Mrs. Hudson's design, is probably inspired by Lady Beard or someone similar. I enjoy the diversity of characters because it's its strongest point. The crime-solving concept isn't anything new so the characters usually carry the series and bring charm to it.

Sherlock has a weird design though, his forehead and chin are big enough to fit both China and Russia. Watson has a square-ish features and a rectangular face. Appearance-wise, none of them are attractive except for megane-kun, Kyougoku, who sorta reminds me of Sakamoto from Sakamoto desu ga.
There is no such thing as an Anime elitist. You watch Anime, therefore, you are trash by society's standards.

Lol he ran him over

I was half expecting him to be the criminal but realised he was probably doing it to win the case for himself.

People will drop this just because it has got 'gay shit' in it.

I don't understand why people always have to hate on these types of stories, just because homosexuality is involved doesn't mean it's a bad show.

I'm into this show but as a major fan of the Yakuza franchise this series has a slight different appeal to me, on top of the fact I like a good mystery/detective story I also love Kamurocho which is the fictional city the games are based in and Kabukichou is the real world city and it's a near perfect recreation from what I can tell so I'm excited to see where this goes cause like detective mysteries are my SHIT yo as long as they're done well which so far this one seems to be
Edit: I wrote this halfway through the episode and now I'm finished final thoughts, the music got mad Cowboy Bebop/Baccano vibes, I find Sherlock quite funny and I'm curious to see if it gets annoying after a while, very Sherlock-y way of deduction which as a fan of the original novels is great and I love over the top anime shit so I'm into this show be curious if I decide to drop it later on but right now I'm into it 👌

This was so boring and managed to make simple case so uninteresting and its just all those boring fanservice dragged 70% time of the episode and rest were just basic mystery one can better presented in Detective Conan already. Still I am assuming next episodes will be different.

I was really charmed by this. Hope the rest of this show is as funny/interesting as this episode was. I'm a big fan of Sherlock, and already love this interpretation of Mrs Hudson. I didn't even realise who she was until after the episode.

What to say, I dislike this!!! I suppose it would be hard for me to enjoy this since I am a big fan of Sherlock Holmes and I take him too seriously to get on board with this. Anyway, I enjoyed Hudson's singing though.
I will watch another episode and hope for the best although am not very optimistic about it.

plot is ok, not sure i like its depiction of sherlock and watson yet, but they're bearable for now.

what's unbearable to the point of making me drop this show is its utterly disgusting and mocking portrayal of the transgender and homosexual community. it makes fun of trans and gays and doesn't portray them as the way they are in real life all for the sake of comedy, at the expense of them. it's absolutely disgusting and i cannot bear to watch any more of this show

Wish this show was called Kamurocho Sherlock and it would be like that Yakuza game called Judgment. Katsuyuki Konishi, who voices Sherlock, he voiced Jun Oda from Yakuza 0. Yuichi Nakamura, who voices Watson, he was Han Joon Gi in Yakuza 6. Just wish the protagonists could be voiced by Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima and Lars Alexandersson themselves, Takaya Kuroda, Hidenari Ugaki and Junichi Suwabe. To voice the antagonists are Isshin Chiba and Kazuhiro Nakaya. Jin Kazama and Akira Nishikiyama themselves. Matter of fact the show should oughta be titled Law & Order Kamurocho. Yakuza meets Sherlock Holmes.

Kamurocho isn't a real place and its just based on kabukicho almost to an identical tee outside of the millenium tower which isnt real.

I'll probably gonna stick with this, but as much as I don't mind original take on Sherlock Holmes, this first episode is just really really poor.

Well not a bad start but I want this to get serious. Sherlock isn't what i expected him to be. He is a gd detective i guess but his personality and that thing he does when he explains is meh.

It's proper weird, this is how some gays and transgenders act, I've seen it in real life (I live in Amsterdam 100% reliable source), on television and online.

Quite fun, like all the dumb quirks mixed with murder mystery. That Rakugo scene was hilarious.

Not bad for a first episode. Nice atmosphere and music with a bit comedy mixed in and the main that came to find Sherlock seems to have skills (a doctor) as well.

Now this is better than episoe 1 of that special unit 7 (long japanese name) anime.

I am not a fan of Toshiyuki Yahagi's character design work. From what I saw, this show is a mess. Shame, I was looking forward to this one. At least there is a good mystery series this season. This is not that series.

Welp, if it was this and Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin (that was supposed to air in Spring for the former), I would've chosen the latter instead.

Combining the terminologies of Sherlock Holmes and helper Watson with Japan's weirdly East Side town is considered weird enough already, it seems off-putting. At least that Rakugo feel doesn't seem bad.

All things drag/trans and gay...but not lovely.

3 episode-count is in store.

I think this anime has great potential, enjoyed the mystery and also the comedy.
I just wonder why the score is so low?

Okay... This was wild, and kind of funny. Poor girl though, being killed like that. At least the culprit was caught I guess. And I do get Mattsun, it would be hard to not be seduced by someone like Norio. lol I think it was my favorite scene. xD Not really a fan of Mrs. Hudson groping Watson though, I hope the character isn't there only for this kind of "comic relief."

Some viewers are offended by depiction of trans and gay community. Some are offended by the presence of trans. Others hated the rakugo sketch Sherlock did. While certain demographic feels that the anime gives a really "unreal" vibes of case solving. Hence the rating drop.

Wow, I didn't expect detectives living in the red district. Some weirds things about this serie, especially comedy style and Holmes's Personality. However, I think that have a potential premise.

Good Luck.

It is a peculiar anime, it combines mystery with comedy, and the truth is that this episode seemed very funny and great, except for the okamas (transvestites), that made me hesitate to continue watching it, but the last thing, seeing Sherlock being run over by Watson convinced me to give this anime a chance, ... I repeated that scene like 5 times, I couldn't help laughing, hahaha 🤣🤣🤣. Sherlock has an interesting way to solve the cases, it's somewhat insane, but it works for me xD.

I can't remember if this got delayed once or twice, but either way because of that I was a little iffy going into it. Also with so many cruddy Sherlock adaptions we have been getting in the past years I wasn't excited about possibly getting another one. I am happy so say that so far this good. The whole Sherlock verses Jack the Ripper itself is rather clique, but some of the things they added like the rakugo and the setting make it super enjoyable. The characters seem like they are going to be super fun too.

Yeah I'm not feeling this at all. The characters are just so bland and uninteresting, the disturbing flamboyant style of most of them feel so forced. Sherlock Holmes adaptations almost never turn out well unless the entire genre is changed so I'm not surprised it's not that great, but the changes that made here to be "original" are just weird. I might give this another episode or two but I can already tell I'm not going to like this.

Yeah I don't know if I can hang with this one. Nothing interest me, literally nothing. Didn't like the characters, the comedy nor the case they were investigating. Normally id give an anime I start at list 3 to 5 episodes. However im only giving this one 2 episodes before I decide whether to drop it or not.

Why is Sherlock and other his book's characters in modern Japan? This setting is nonsensical trainwreck.
