Brilliant news.
Loved the first season and been loving the source material as well.
Glad that to see that its finally getting a new season despite the mixed reception that s1 had among reviewers.

Definitely gonna need to rewatch S1 to refresh my memory since it was so long ago.
I'm no special story or anything. I'm just a manga that wants to be read, like you could find anywhere. But, if, for argument's sake, you were to adapt me into an anime series, it would certainly be....a tragedy.

Well so much for this having any chance of being good.
8bit did the movie, which looked just as good as the anime. With the current state of madhouse and the quality of their recent releases, I'm really glad they're not in charge of it this time around.

As long as the staff is mostly the same, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

I've long forgotten what happened to the LN so ehh, Also I don't know roughly how long the S1 covered, though I vaguely remember things in the LN... Also seeing the visual and I see Lina so it must be around 2nd year...

An unexpected announcement, but a welcome one. I really love the LN also, S1 was pretty good so looking forward to it.

Some very welcome news. I've been reading the LN for awhile (or rather trying to, it's quite lengthy..) since I didn't think a S2 would happen. Quite excited.

Literally have been waiting years for this to happen
I had given up hope that it would ever happen and here we are
I’m immensely happy and this was the number 1 anime I wanted to get a second season for
I just want to see more godsuya in action and hopefully 8bit does a good job
The movie was made by them as well so the animation was solid but the budget will probably be different compared to the movie
Regardless man am I hype asf for this new season

Finally. Though it took 6 years, but this show was a lot of fun, even if it had an OP protagonist aka Godsuya.

Well, that's certainly quite the surprise, but definitely one to welcome. Guess I'll need to watch the movie at some point before this, then.
Movie takes place after what season 2 will cover tbh

Can't say how I feel about them skipping vol 8, but this is awesome regardless.

So if I haven't seen the movie yet, should I wait and watch it after the new season?
And is volume 8 really so important?

Probably, but it doesn't really spoil anything besides Lina and her identity(but that will be revealed in like the 1st eps of ps2, so not really a big spoiler). So if you want to watch it, I won't stop ya.

Vol 8 goes into the back story of Tatsuya and Miyuki, basically explaining why Tatsuya is the way that he is and showing how the two developed such a close bond. Its very important narratively, so I'm assuming it'll be a movie or an OVA eventually.

Am I the only one who noticed the change in character design? (。◕__◕。) What reason did they have to change it? T_T

The LN artist and character designer, Kana Ishida has evolved her artwork for the characters as the series progressed. This promotional image matches what the art in the novels looks like now.

Finally the best sister in all of Japanese media gets more animated content.

bout time this series got a 2nd season anyways. 8bit might as well make a new season of NGNL while they're at it since Madhouse is Madhouse.

pretty hyped for this overall.

I heard that 8bit did capture the original production on the film though how true that is IDK. Granted film production and TV production are different and it obviously may not be the same team. Was thinking of giving the Film a look though I heard you shouldn't since for some reason it's actually takes place during/after the plot that S2 is going to cover for some reason?

Anyway thoughts on the sequel Magic High is pretty much a typical power fantasy anime which I usually feel meh on or don't like. I did slightly enjoy this one though mainly because of the setting, production (music, animation etc were nice), characters don't stand out but were likeable enough. It was entertaining even counting a lot of the flaws and personal preferences so will watch S2.

oh, the Onii-sama anime. I remember watching the first 3 episodes when it was airing and always being on the verge of falling asleep while watching it.

- Interesting setting.
- Nice Character Design.
- Good Animation + OST
- Boring as hell + Most OP character in the medium.

Might try it again in the future, just because for some reason I love the Character Design. Pretty sure I'll end up dropping it again though.

Anyway, good for all the fans that've been waiting since freaking 2014 for this.

Godsuya + Best girl Lina + More of best boy Mikihiko + Mayumi + Godlike animation + Divine soundtrack = AOTS(/Y?) Confirmed.

I loved this arc in the novel. Hope they'll adapt it well.

Let this be a lesson, that even if your show hasn't gotten a second season in 5,6 or even 7 years, there is still a chance it could get one.

I'll watch but won't have any exceptions. I watched the first season but was kinda turned off by all the constant technical jargon on magic.

The movie is completely original. The vol. 8 is something completely unrelated to it. Vol. 8 is a backstory between Miyuki and Tatsuya and it cemented my love for this series because of how well-done it was. It also reminded me of Full Metal Panic!'s Sousuke and Kaname. It would be very nice if they adapted it as well as a movie.

So vol8 is that backstory? They I have stopped reading just before it then, also are they skipping this volume with the adaptation? I heard great things about it, so kinda meh decision.
