Well, this show is over but somehow, we get yet another cliffhanger of another typical episode.

Kids these days just can't catch a break, even at home.

A refrigerator that has its own will huh!

That was a messed up family, I think the ghost child could've been possessing them to kill each other. I mean the refrigerator did mention the child hasn't grown since, and he was the last one to vanish. I could be wrong, as I'm not sure of this situation no matter how much I watch it!

But good episode though. This season wasn't bad, except they could've done better with the acting though (VAs), to bring fear to their characters. It was the same ol' horror style animation they used originally, and I'm glad they stuck with it. Not a bad season, too bad the horror genre is dying all over:'(

6/10.

I didn't like this season as much as other ones, but this was a good episode
I'm a bit confused as hecc though.
So they're living with a ghost, and killed the dad?? I think??

(also the ending song probably one of the best of all seasons imo)

Such an atypical episode, so heartwarming and cheerful. Good job, Fridge-san.

Ok this last one was honestly somewhat creepy. 7/10. the voice acting, art, and stories were all pretty solid, though i enjoyed this season less than others. I'd probably watch a season 8 if they made it.

2/10 for this season. Yami Shibai has lost all its identity.

Episode 1 and this episode were the only episodes that kept it from going 1

Kinda interesting ep. This season as a whole was a mess though.

So in the end, Yami Shibai overall was nothing but a bunch of cheap jumpscare slideshows with not much inspiration beyond inducing bad habits to continually look under our beds or inside our closets 24/7. At least the animation style was.....something amazing for a school project.

The real ghost story is how few people watch this shit series anymore....I remember back when I gave season one, a legit good season that made me scared or jump a score of 7. Every season after has been 5 or lower, and this one is a 2. And ep 9 is the only reason this season isn't a 1. Oshimai is what I'm saying to this series.
If there is another season and I'm watching it, then I'm probably stuck in a real scary story and please send help.

The season begins and ends with dismemberments, haves a lot of things to do with corpses...
But still a meh season as a whole. The last episode is decent though.

It was interesting in concept but so confusing in implementation of the episode. The ghost killed their dad? Is the fridge actually that boy? Like what even??

I know that the quality of Yami Shibai dropped after the first three seasons but man I wanted something creepy OTL

For a final episode it was lackluster.

Seems like they killed the dad. Not sure what the boy's connection was to all this.

Hoping for another season. This show is easy to watch with its short length and it's always interesting to see what new story they'll do.

What a dumb final episode. Most of the episodes in this season managed to be a bit tense but this one was just boring. I'll be waiting for a new season if it ever happens since this is short and easy to watch anyway.

Probably the worst out of all the Yami Shibai seasons, though this is probably my favourite episode out of the entire series. Reminded me of those isekai where people get reincarnated as inanimate objects. Don't think I'd be upset if we got a season 8, I wanna see how long they're willing to make this show lol

I think it would be more interesting if they linked the boxes in the fridge to the boxes delivered to the guy in the first episode.

This season was underwhelming unfortunately. Most of the content was poorly written, however I liked episodes 5, 7 and 9.

This season was bad as fuck. Other season all had episodes that i found good, but this season had at best some passable episodes.

The only i liked more was the brother otaku episode and this was more because i liked the brother. I didn't liked any other episode.

My guess: in the end the refrigerator said "I had this feeling before" when referring to the warmth of the meat, so option;
1)the refrigerator was once alive, that's why it can recognize the warmth of the meat, but it says from the star that IT IS a refrigerator, so no? The ghost kid was there and contaminated the family or he's a dead child of them¿?
2) They first killed the kid and packed him in that refrigerator (when the refrigerator was connected the boy was already dead so it didn't notice the change) like they did to the father, but the one that killed the kid was actually that father, that's why the kid never smiled in the episode, not until they show that the dad was dead. But there is another lake, why would they kill their own child? Life insurance? I don't think so because they wouldn't be able to pack him...

And thus season seven comes to a close, with what is probably the best episode of the season. Framing the story from the perspective of a refrigerator, and a wholesome one that doesn't understand what's going on, was such a novel and fun concept for an episode. The happy upbeat music during the beginning of the episode is so unlike anything in Yami Shibai that I can't help but love it.

It seems I've come to a different interpretation of the events then most people did, at least based on the comments. The beginning of the episode had Refrigerator explain that they were all eating happily but that it didn't last long and soon the fighting between them started. So what changed? I suspect the youngest's death. He was alive during the opening monologue, something must've happened that cost him his life, and this is what tore the family apart and eventually caused them to murder the father and pack him up. That's why the others aged and the kid remained the same, because his ghost haunted the residence after his passing. That's how I extrapolated the events, it seems to make the most sense to me. I like that there are episodes like this that require thought, that have subtlety to them.

As for the season overall, meh it was fine. I do agree with the consensus that Yami Shibai season 1 was the only one really capable of consistently building up tension and being "scary", albeit the constant jump scare endings annoyed me but I'm not really bothered by the lack of creepiness to it. Especially since this seasons seemed more incline to indulge in wackiness, with this episode having a refrigerator main character, the episode with the otaku under his sister's bed, and while maybe unintentional, the episode with the next door ghost neighbor who just wants them to be quiet. Maybe I'm just worn down and less critical, but this is probably my third favourite season after six and one. Don't get me wrong, there were definitely stinkers. Episode 2 was awful and Episode 10 was so dull I couldn't even muster a comment on it. But I really liked the finale and episode 9. I was also a fan of 1, 3, 7, and 11 to various degrees. That's about half the season, which isn't bad. That's definitely a higher amount of episodes I liked than most seasons, even if most of them aren't to the quality of the top stuff in some of the other seasons (like 5). 5/10.

This season was a hit-or-miss as usual but some episodes were actually pretty enjoyable. Not very scary but it managed to have me feel something else for a bit in a handful of them.

Ok, This was REALLY creepy. I am surprised they changed the format a bit in the very last episode (having the refrigerator narrate throughout the whole episode) but it worked so no complaints from me. There was also a twist, as I thought they killed the father but it turns out they killed the little brother (although I wonder why? unlike the father no problems were shown with him). This was a very good finale to a very good season. hope we get Season 8 soon :).

Damn, that was a good one. At least they wrapped up this season with a good episode.

I presume the little brother had died someway? I don't think he was the one they killed. That much meat won't come from a small child. I think they killed the father and were cannibalizing him. I think because of the poor family income they had to resort to this.

The way they told this through a refrigerator was a pretty unique approach.

Overall this season was very disappointing with only a few good moments. 4/10 imo
