Pretty entertaining Anime for a Fate series. Really liked the characters, personally not been a great fan of Waver in general, but I really like the development he has gotten. Gray is also a great addition to the Fate-waifu list. I think the Lore was a bit hard to grasp at times, mostly to blame on me for not being into it too much, but I really enjoyed it nevertheless.

I do not understand the opening bit. Is this a completely alternate timeline, where he lost his sister?

Seems the opening isn't the only thing you do not understand.

Great input, my fellow human being. Hopefully a decent human being comes around instead, naturally.

As an standalone show was kinda crappy, but for someone who has seen most Fate material (even some LN) I really loved this one and all the expansion and unions it did in the fate part of the Nasuverse, the last scene with Rider made me increase the score from 7 to 8 (Broskander is best servant)

Really nice final episode. Waver just is one of the best developed characters in anime with Fate/Zero and Rail Zeppelin. And Grey is cute in her own way, still like the meta joke of a saber face being a literal clone forced to step into Sabers gigantic footsteps and being compared to her all the time. Second season please!

Isn't something missing between the end of the last episode and the beginning of this one? Like an epic fight where the priest dies and the villain escapes or something? There was no lack of information but it was kind of anti-climatic.

The priest died when he closed his eyes and collapsed. The anime did rush it because needed to put Rhon animation scene. Heartless overturns his heart and just takes Faker away, you know, like what he did with the DA child forest. It also skipped the case where Svin got his promotion. I think I said this, Rail Zeppelin is just a set up for other arcs, including Grand Roll finale. It's like adaptating the chapter 2 of a book.

a decent ending, but the only word that comes to mind about this show is - boredom.
perhaps, detective fiction something i don't enjoy, especially in fate setting. fate without servant x master action is quite boring to say the least

Rider: Are you ready to come here boy?
Waver: I'm still not worthy to stand by your side. Because the pain of the path leading there and the glory at its end must be gained in real life. Not here but in my battlefield of Lord El Melloi II.
Rider: I see, well then I dare ask.... Was the journey so far been fun for you?
Waver: Ah Of course... Rider.

One of the best conversations after his last battle as Rider's master.

We need more Broskander X Waver moments!!
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

That moment between Rider and Waver reminded me of Fate Zero all over again! So good!

Well, kind of a disappointment. At first, i was thinking to myself "a story that follows Waver as an adult? why not?", and got into it right away! But as the episodes went on, i felt myself being bored to the core, idk why... The story didn't click with me anymore, and so i've lost interested possibly around episode 5/6.

Sweet ending for a really good series. I really hope there'll be season 2, or at least OVA or movie for this. Good job by Troyca, director Makoto Katou and of course Yuki Kajiura.

I really love the whole Gray and Waver, Waver and Iskandar and also Waver with his students moments. Even for small Melvin chatting with Gray too. And yeay! Reines becoming friends with Olga Marie!

I'll miss all the characters and the series... T_T

Well, to be fair, it's not promoting itself as a main "Fate" series, but more as a spinoff series. So, obviously someone who went into this should keep that in mind since the beginning.

The characters in this show were great, the story was all over the place. My favourite episodes were ep 1 and ep 13 by far, simply for the Waver x Iskandar focus.

A very mellow yet good final episode. I especially liked the insight we got into Waver`s character, his progression and personal goals. Somewhat disappointed with Gray though. The journey did not change her like at all.

Top moment was Iskander and Waver dacing each other. Clearly, they are playing the nostalgia but I did not mind it.

Probably the worst Type Moon/Fate related thing to date (and that's saying something). Holy crap does this franchise love inhaling its own farts at this point, I love how it presents all these non-sensical deductions as brilliant detective work while everything is resolved and explained with the help of some grandiosely presented magical mumbo jumbo. It doesn't help that the other focus of the show is based on the daddy issues of the most obnoxious character from Fate/Zero.

Honestly, I am surprised that there are so few comments about any gay vibes in this ending, especially after the show screenwriter raised the topic of LGBTQ representations on Twitter, and ANN tried to "justify" MC from incel charges, claiming that he "hold himself" for Iskander, lol.

Nice conclusion to the series, a bit emotional at the Waver and Iskander part. The dynamic of this duo is like in FZ. Gray cute as usual and Reines befriend her. Overall its a good installment of the Fate franchise. 5/5 for the episode, 7/10 to the series

Instead of a show that's 1 season and desperately deserves a second, this show will probably get a sequel despite being terribly mediocre. Reines is prime faite bait.

Troyca has chops but they need a better writer. It has nice moments but fails at the big things. Feels almost arrogant to set up for a second season.

Everyone knows about Waver's bisexual hopeless harem because he'll forever chase Iskandar. Not sure how can he be an 'incel' when he's the most popular person in the Clocktower that wants to bed by the type Strange Fake rolls in (he moved from fourth to first spot!). He's just not interested.

Fate franchise has weird kind of fujoshi fans, they are called "silent" ones.

Damn, I almost teared up with that heartfelt reunion between Waver and Iskandar. Especially after thinking I wouldn't hear Rider's voice not even once during this series.

Overall, quite calm/relaxing final episode with a really heartwarming conclusion for this part of the story.

As a whole, this anime was a quite pleasant experience, even more when you are fan of the universe and characters. I loved the fanservice in general as well, especially the cameos and references to another Fate works.

Absolutely wouldn't mind a second season. More Reines would be much appreciated, honestly.

7/10 - Now, let's jump universes and see what one of Fate/Grand Order's "best story arcs" can offer.

Bro, I legitimately wasn't expecting to watch this episode and fucking cry with the dream scene. That was fantastic.

Overall, I'd give the anime an *8/10*. Evidently not perfect by any means considering how messy it was from time to time, but I was rather satisfied with what we got ultimately.

Fate's selling point will never necessarily be the storytelling, but, man, do I love these characters. New faces like Reines and Gray were a treat to watch. Even minor roles like Svin, Flat, and Melvin were charming. The cameo appearances of Olga, Shishigou, Caules, and Luvia were a fun welcome/throwback that you did not see coming.

Given the mixed reception, it wouldn't be the hugest loss if we didn't get a second season, but I'd be definitely down for more if it ever were to happen.

You need to ask ANN for this, personally, I didn't notice any actual romance in this show at all. I think that if Waver were a girl, on the contrary, they would defend his right to virginity or celibacy.

This show was alright, its character moments with waver and his relationship with gray kind of had to carry it cause the actual storylines present felt really substandard and lacking. I really would of enjoyed more episodes like this one over the random mysteries that never really had any pay off or intrigue, I enjoyed the train part fair enough but felt it started to fall apart as it went along with how the villain was just some asshole we never met before, and unfortunately that guy also just seems kind of lame despite it looking like hes the main antagonist going foreword if we get any more seasons.

I'd like another season if it happens but on its own this was just ok, I'm giving it a very low 6/10 solely cause the character moments do bump it up a point from mediocrity. I think id like the cast given more time to see any of them used

Hmm... so what was even the point of this series? The plot moved basically nowhere and whole Rail Zepellin case was utterly disappointing in terms of developement and even dialogue-wise (Adashino was probably the worst because her "deductions" and empty technobabble doesn't make any real sense).
This series should really should have stayed episodic, with each detective case being only one episode - and then it would have worked but not like this - the introduction of Faker and was completely downplayed with fake cliffhanger the last episode for example and I still struggle to see what this series was even about...

Also, I don't buy whole Iskandar dream sequence at all, that was just fanservice something that was meant to cover previously bad writing. For whole series Waver was chasing something from FZ that really didn't need any explanation and expansion. It was kinda pointless watching this when we already know what will happen in 5thHGW. And as such the real meat of this series should stay in his relation with Gray whose past was hardly explored in detail too.
And I would also do without all those annoying comedy relief characters like Flat, Malvin, Yvette and so on.

All-in-all, another pretty forgettable series that tries to prey original FSN/FZ franchise (again). It probably wasn't as bad as Apocrypha (or it is other way around? Apocrypha did have at least some interesting characters unlike this one I guess). Give it some time and noone will even remember this (the same happened to Apocrypha already, minus Kairi maybe).

4/10

We need real sequel, honestly, bring in Ataraxia already.

A good finaly with a lot of funny characters interactions!

So Waver is stepping out of fifth Grail War, i am glad he made that decision!

I am glad Grey managed to give he rpresent to Waver!

The last scene in Waver's dream with Rider was really heartwarming!

Overall, i really enjoyed this anime, mistery and detective thing where really amusing, character were also wonderfull, and also god aniamtion and art, and the soundtracks were a masterpiece for me!

Well, we couldn't see what happened after Hephaestion's Noble Phantasm collided with Gray's Rhongomyniad, but at least we know that Gray and Waver are alive, but Calebault died from the wound that Hephaestion caused to him.
Gray while being in the hospital, she wears a cape to cover her hairstyle, how lovely and shy girl, I find it very funny that Gray still believes that Svin hates her, when it's the opposite, only that Svin is very intimidating when expressing His love for Gray.
Ivette is a scoundrel, I'm still surprised that she visits Waver after having betrayed them with Doctor Heartless and she admits she is a spy.

Adashino revealed something that left me surprised, Doctor Heartless is her stepbrother, but at least it was interesting to see how she and Waver tried to know the reasons for Doctor Heartless to get a Servant, but what left me uneasy was that flashback of the battle of Gray and Hephaestion, whose was the voice that Gray heard in that moment?
Although Adashino is very stealthy and manipulative, I don't like her very much, but her design is to my liking and I think I'll miss seeing her.

That dialogue that Waver has with Gray when he informs her that he will not participate in the Holy Grail War gave me a shudder, he finally left his obsession with this event and decided to focus on the search for Doctor Heartless and Faker, but this becomes very adorable when Gray finally gives the gift she bought for him, watching Gray's eyes fill with tears was very moving.

That last moment where Waver talks to Iskandar again was one of the strongest moments of this episode, at last Waver could talk to the conquering king and the words they both exchanged meant a lot to Waver who finally can let go of his past with a smile on his face as he sees his old partner Rider.

If I am very sincere the episode had a very good closing, the episode tied several questions and it was also a reflective ending, where Waver somehow stops clinging to his past and lets go of the opportunity to participate in the Holy Grail War, we see as his students grow and move forward in the case of Svin and we also see how Waver's ties with others have led him to that moment.
New friendships were formed in the case of Reines and Olga Marie, who personally makes me a little happy for Olga, who needs someone her age to be distracted.
I give this anime 9/10, personally speaking, the animes that I have seen from Studio TROYCA has turned out to be very good and in the case of this it turned out to be very good, but there were details.
The character design was something of a very good quality and obviously the girls turned out to be something very beautiful, Luvia and Gray were my favorites and once in a while Reines captivate me with her younger sister charm. I'm going to miss this anime, especially the adorable Gray.

In comparison to unlimited blade works and the stay night is by far better than that trash tier at least plot-wise because action-wise unlimited blade works could be said better
but had trash tier characters except for medea and maybe the lancer (although the guy had so less characterization that i completed watching that series yesterday but i still cannot remember his name like what the hell?) who was actually the only decent/ interesting character i could think off (i haven't seen any other of the fate series) so i cannot speak for those.

Anyway for me Lord El-Melloi II Sei no Jikenbo: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note was decent i would say not something mindblowing or good it was but still better than average.

I liked waver watching his character progression was a nice thing my only problem is we didn't had much characterization about the rest of the characters perhaps they are trying to leave some mystery behind some characters?

Hishiri Adashino was a nice character it was interesting the cat- dog fight waver she and waver had.

Great characters & art, and fun to watch especially with F/Z and Apocrypha links.
Mystery deductions with magic got confusing and random, probably needs much more nasuverse knowledge to get. Perhaps better translation or extra notes are really needed.
Nice closure overall, Waver & Gray very cute together. Moments of Iskander, Reines, Luvia (but lacks ohoho) & Liongo were always great.

Seeing Waver meet Iskandar again was satisfying. Good closure and much better than the preceding several episodes.

This show is a mixed bag for me. Every episode before the Rail Zeppelin arc were pretty forgettable, but they had superior character-building moments. Once the story switched to the train, however, Waver was the only one who had any actual depth.

As for the train mystery itself, it started off promising, but slowly became more contrived as it dragged on. The final nail in the coffin was the introduction of a forgettable new character as the big bad, which is kind of poor writing.

I wish they explored Gray's past more. She had the potential to become the most interesting character especially after fragments of her past was revealed by the priest. Instead, she was criminally underutilized.

Somewhat of a mediocre and disappointing series, perhaps more so in that department than Fate Apocrypha. As a fantasy series it's okay, maybe, but good action scenes are few and far in between and the mystery solving feels incredibly barebones and conclusory. The overall plot does not feel compelling at all either--all this time I was wondering what it is they think the audience should care about.

The only bright spots are probably the relationships between Waver and Gray and Waver and Reines, but absent a stronger showing in a season 2 (if there is one) this is going to be as forgettable as they come.
