From an outsider looking in, this just looks like a furries wet dream. Is it worth the watch when it comes out??

I haven't read the manga (if there is one), so I don't really know about this one, but I will watch episode 1 just to check it out and if it really is a furry's wet dream, then I will not watch it

Beastars is great and I highly recommend reading the manga if you get the chance. The art in the manga is honestly one of my favorite parts, but the characters are also just really likable, especially the MC. I can't wait for this anime but I have a feeling so many people are just gonna overlook it because there's animals in it, which is kind of a really dumb and ignorant mistake, so many people are missing out on it.

I really hope too that people give this anime a chance. The plot in itself is really interesting as there are many characters with complex personalities whose interaction might result in even more plot progression. To me, Beastars seems like a reflection / an interpretation of the deeper aspects of human society. Introducing anthropomorphized animals is a way to add even more weight to the plot ... as you might see early on. I don't know how the CGI will turn out - but story-wise, Beastars might be one of the greatest works I've ever come across.
They say there's no such place... as Paradise. Even if you search to the ends of the earth, there's nothing there. No matter how far you walk, it's always the same road. It just goes on and on. But in spite of that, why am I so driven to find it? A voice calls to me. It says 'Search for Paradise!' "

It would be nice if you could beastars a watch, It's a great manga that explored the possibility of "what would happened if animals tried to coexist but still had their wild instinct" the best, imo.

There's more meat to the story than just "Oh, it's animal doing human shit"
"This is boring...I'm bored..."

As an ex-furry myself, I can assure you this isn't a furry's wet dream. I'd say give it a watch.

Honestly guys, you don't need any identifiant (Ex : Furry, not a furry, ex-furry). We shouldn't care about that in the slightest.

Beastars is a great work that stands on it's own as one of the greatest work from this decade so far in the manga scene (No, you don't win awards by imitating a furrie's wet dream ...). Any people who try to dismiss it on first look is mostly willing to be ignorant and that's just sad.

Anyway, 4th PV is out now, CGI is done by Orange who did Land of the Lustrous and it shows, OP "Wild Side" is a banger already. Seriously, everything is on it's side to become a great adaptation so far, let's hope they'll bring out the guns when needed !

Well its being called a dark zootopia and zootopia is well known and highly regarded. So theres hope that it will catch on. I mean it worked on me since when I saw a picture of it I thought "hey this looks like jpn did its own like zootopia thing imma give it a look" now I look forward to giving it a watch.

Ironic seeing furry hate coming from someone with blatant furbait as their profile picture.

I'll give it a try. The manga is rated insanely high and the PV wasn't bad either. So..

The CGI is indeed a negative... But the studio did well with Land of Lustrious, so maybe they will surprise us this time too.

The manga's artstyle would be difficult to translate into animation. Besides, like you said, the same studio took Land of the Lustrous, a manga with another hard to animate art style, and made it a masterpiece of an anime. People should just look at it more optimistically, that it's not some no-name garbage studio doing this adaptation

I could theorize this series portraits different people and their personalities through the prism of animals, which have different classification as either carnivore (dangerous) and herbivore (friendly). A person might look like a carnivore, but when you get to know them they might just turn out to be a herbivore, stuck in a label put on them by the society...
Then again it might be a culmination of author's urges to justify unsafe lust for animals, by making them appear more humane, both in mind and body.
Either way you won't be seeing me on this subforum, citizens.

Not a furry, but loved the hell out of this manga. It's instantly my favorite manga after I'm caught up with it. What makes it so great is it keeps getting better and better and u will never, EVER, see what's coming. Even at chapter 100 each chapter keeps surprising me and i was never able to predict the kind of plot progression that'll happen in the next chapter. It's unpredictable, but understandable when you think of it in hindsight. It's not just being unpredictable for the sake of it. Just give it a chance. You'll love it.

The synopsis they wrote sounds like a weird Oregairu, but it's fairly interesting to look into.

I respect Orange a lot despite my general loathing for 3D stuff; Houseki no Kuni looked great and had wonderful cinematography. It was my dream to see BEASTARS animated in 2D with an art style imitating the manga's aesthetic (think something like what Saint☆Oniisan got), but as you say, I'm just glad it got picked up by a studio that doesn't suck, has shown that they can actually direct well, and respects its shows a lot.

My second favorite manga of all time (really close to One Piece)

The thing I always say about Beastars is: "A shounen about animals is the most human seinen I've ever read."
But yeah, imagine a really morbid but optimistic Zootopia for adults with amazing worldbuilding, character building, pacing, and foreshadowing. It's pretty damn amazing :D

This. Absolutely this.
And with how low the standards are in shounen manga, it's almost unbelievable something like BEASTARS exists.

I legit thought it was a parody of something. The fact that it isn't makes it that much funnier to me.

Can't help but think of that one movie Zootopia whenever I see it.
