Taiga being there in top 10 hurts my eyes, she's too obnoxious (Minorin was best girl) and the others are otaku waifus (which is not wrong at all). Do you think there'll be a girl who's gonna storm the top 10? I'm patiently waiting for 02, more people have to watch Franxx to discover the greatness of 02. So what are your thoughts? |

| Rem, Senjougahara, Megumin, Holo are the ones that are also in my extended favorite character list. I also like Kiss-Shot, tho she definitely isn't my favorite Monogatari girl. Mikasa is decent too, Taiga was okay, as was Kurisu. Yuno is ridiculously unlikable and easily my least favorite character on that list by a very large margin, and Saber is just meh, boring, forgettable in my opinion. The ones I'd like to see on that list the most are Faye (Cowboy Bebop) and Hinata (3-gatsu). Especially Hinata, she might be my favorite female character in all of anime right now. Well, most of my favorite chars I don't really pick based on how they look (I'd say I only find a handful of the chars I listed particularly attractive). Fujiko was just great, she more or less saved Yawara for me since the MC was mostly just annoying me in that show. Her and Hanazono carried the show as far as I'm concerned, along with some others like Jody. I would have probably dropped it if she hadn't gotten more screentime over time. If I based my favorite chars on looks they would look very different. They'd be full with idolmaster lolis and the likes :>. |

| I can't think of anyone who would suddenly get up there, maybe someone from a new show. Anyway, the characters top list will only ever allow characters from very popular shows to compete, unlike the top anime list. So first you need a very popular show with a very popular character for any kind of change. But yeah, Zero Two is definitely likable and super hot, she was everywhere at the time and is still quite big, I'm kinda surprised she's not there in the top 10, even if I wouldn't put her into my favourites myself. As for the list, I personally think Rem is super boring and not very likable and Megumin, while fun, can be kind of annoying and it's just weird for a meme character like that to make the top list. Not a fan of Mikasa either, but I can definitely see the appeal. The rest of the list is fine with me, Holo, Hitagi and Saber are all top tier and even Rias is not that far behind I think (12k+ favs) so generally the girl taste on MAL is not half bad. i'm more surprised with the male characters in the top 50 being mostly shonen dumbasses |

| S1 Mikasa was great, especially pre-haircut Mikasa, but Historia was best girl in AoT in S3. Surprised Violet Evergarden isn't on the list. |
| Uhhh.... why isn’t Asuna Yuuki on that list?! She is best girl ever! :) Now that I think of it, many top-tier waifus are missing? Where’s Asuka? Yūki Nagato? And, yes, Zero Two? Admittedly, Zero Two is awesome but she was a little too “horny” for me (get it?). Personally, I found Ichigo to be the more attractive and likeable female character. It wasn’t until the final 7 or 8 episodes that Zero Two showed a sweeter side that made me change my opinion of her. |

| Haven't watched Steins;Gate, so can't say anything about Kurisu. But Rem is 2nd place and Emilia isn't even in the top 10? Didn't expect that. Mikasa and Hitagi definitely deserve those spots though. |

| I like Rem, Megumin, Senjougahara, Saber, Kiss-Shot. Especially the latter three. Dunno about Yuno and Holo since I haven't seen their shows but I feel I would like Holo. Taiga is okay but I wasn't really fan of her. Ami and Minori were better. Mikasa doesn't deserve to be there at all. She has personality of a wet napkin. By far the most boring character in Attack on Titan, and she is supposed to one of the mains. As for the girls I'd like to see on the top, I'd say definitely Rin Tohsaka, Motoko Kusanagi, Balsa, Akane and Dianna Soriel. They are in my favorites after all. There a many others I'd have no problem seeing there such as Asuka, Illyasviel, Marida Cruz, Hinata from Sangatsu, most of Monogatari girls, etc. There's no point in listing them all |
| I can somewhat agree with the top. Kurisu is only my 4th favourite Steins;Gate girl but she's pretty decent, Taiga is my favourite girl in anime so I think she deserves her standing, Rem is top tier, Shinobu and Senjougahara are ok, I like Holo and Megumin, haven't watched much Fate so no opinion on Saber, and Yuno and Mikasa are hot garbage. I also think Zero Two is trash. |

| The first thing I notice about those ten is that all of them are subordinate within their show to a male lead. (Clearly for most, but only arguably for a few.) It seems MAL is not too keen on female protagonists, which is a pity since having plenty of female protagonists is one of the great advantages anime has over Western media. I'm quite satisfied that of the seven female characters within my top ten characters, three are protagonists and another two are from female-led shows. |
