I almost always watch alone. I prefer it that way because I can choose what to watch and how many episodes in a row and stuff like that.

I feel like most media is better viewed alone because you can process it better. I probably have this opinion because of the shit I watch, though.

Generally I watch anime with my brother, but sometimes I watch them alone. If I have to choose, I’d say I prefer watch anime with my brother.

Watching with others is annoying, watching alone is more comfortable and relaxing for me

does it count if i am watching something and my brother is in the same room? he almost always looks at what i am watching. All in all, i guess it depends. Would i watch any fanservice show with him in the room? probably not

If he watches what you're watching then I think it counts.

Always alone — I can concentrate on the story better, I'd only watch with someone else if I was rewatching :p

I watch anime alone in the morning/afternoon and with a friend at night, we try to watch shows we both like together, we're watching Food Wars 2 for example

I watch it alone and in rare cases rewatch some things with my family. I like to take in the full experience of a show and watching it with other people can sometimes detract from that. Watching with similar anime fans is still entertaining though, just for different reasons.

I watch it alone. I tend to binge watch series and generally like going at my own pace. If I do watch anime it’s typically an anime movie with friends/family. I also feel like I watch weird anime and have a weird taste that I’m not sure if people would generally want to watch a show with me. :)

Mainly alone in my room. I feel more comfortable that way and i can concentrate better on what i'm watching. And i can also watch whatever type of anime i want without any restrictions.

Comedy anime is best experienced in a group, but anything serious is better when I'm alone. I can't be immersed or pay attention with 5 people talking and yelling around me. The worst is when someone ruins the mood with a joke ... bleh. I would watch everything with other people if they could be quiet when it matters.
This is might be why I watch anime alone too. I do chuckle at comedy, but I prefer stories that are taken seriously, and I hate it when other people ruin the mood.

Mostly on my own because my sister can't be trusted to watch regularly and I end up having to wait bloody weeks for her highness to deign me with her consent to watch another episode.

Movies I'll gladly watch with her tho, she can't bail out on those.

Alone is better for 99% of stuff. Maybe with others could be cool for some anime movies, some lighthearted comedy/slice of life, maybe some re-watch stuff like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. I would probably default to FMA:B if would watch with another since even with comedy/slice of life, others may likely not understand it all due to stuff specific to Japanese culture.

i think alone would be better for me even though i've never actually watched anime with others before. I mean i skip anime until a 24 min ish ep only takes me half the time to finish it(i consider it saving my time but why not read manga u ask cuz i prefer to see things in color lmao, also i won't skip action scenes since those r worth watching) and if i'm watching with other people they might not like the skipping i do with anime so yea

if its a good anime and im rewatching it then sure?

Alone, mainly due to my gf and friends that live near me aren't interested in Anime. Only conversations I have are with friends from college who still watch as well via text.

A majority of the time I'll watch alone. The only times I watch with someone else is a) if I'm watching an anime that I've specifically started with a friend or in a group, b) if its an anime movie that I've gone to see in theater with a friend or group, c) if its something I've started on TV (like Toonami) at home with one of my siblings, or d) if its something I've already seen and am re-watching it with someone watching it for the first time.

It depends. I have my own place, so tend to watch it alone. Whenever I visit family though, I have a younger brother that likes watching anime so tend to catch up any anime I've missed out on with him.

If its something I think my husband might enjoy I ask if he wants to watch it with me. Sometimes he is interested and sometimes he isn't. Which is fine...
Sometimes I'll start a show without him after he turns me down and he decides he likes what he sees after all ( My Hero Academy, One Punch Man, Haikyuu, Space Brothers, etc) and asks me to wait for him to catch up and then asks I wait to start new seasons with him. This is not fine!!
I love watching shows we both like together. I also enjoy binge watching at my own speed and not having to wait for another person.

Anime has a lot of cringe /corny stuff that is better watched alone. If you watch it with others you sort of have to keep up appearances and all so it prevents you from enjoying it 100 %. Like for example "Chika dance", I like watching it but I'd rather kill myself than watch it with my mom.

most of the anime I watch has half naked girls flashing their oppai, so I watch it all alone.

Right now, I've only watched two anime with people. Those two were Steins;Gate and The Promised Neverland. Actually, those two times were rewatches. I wanted to introduce these two anime to my cousin.

Alone. But recently I've been thinking about watching anime with someone who also likes anime. Maybe a girlfriend, if I have one. But with other friends is okay.

If you have ever done this, is it worth it?

I always watch alone. My mother can't stand Japanese language's sound and my father just dislikes animes. Also, I've no friends in real life to watch it, since they think it's too 'childish'.

I've watched it both alone and with someone else. All i can say from this experience is that watching it alone is way better because you get to experience it in a much better way.
