| If I wanted to give a list of anime to a stranger so they could understand much of what I appreciate about anime, I would have them watch these (In no particular order): 1) Cowboy Bebop 2) Akira 3) FLCL 4) My Neighbor Totoro 5) Gurren Lagann (I haven't looked at any other lists in this thread yet, but I'm guessing Cowboy Bebop and Akira are probably on a lot of them) Edit: These are a lot more varied than I thought! Tbh people are including more than I expected of what I would consider, um... stuff that appeals to the lowest common denominator xD Like do you even respect the people you would have watch these?? |

| (Not necessarily in a prioritized order) 1.) Inuyasha - this one may be largely due to nostalgia from my childhood, but I think this is a must see. While no singular aspect is incredible, it rolls together nicely imo and has a nice atmosphere. 2.) Toradora - A great romance, good character development, warming to watch, although a bit dramatic later on. 3.) Samurai Champloo (eng dub)- same writer as highly acclaimed Cowboy Bebop and better on my opinion. 4.) Highschool DxD (eng dub)- I think harems are overall shitty and this is no exception, but as far as harems this is about as good as it gets for some cheap laughs. Main character is surprisingly likeable. 5.) Naruto - best battle shonen by incomparable margins. Honestly best anime ever. Great plot, character development, interesting fictional world, great background music and epic fights no other anime can compare to. 6.) https://myanimelist.net/anime/14813/Yahari_Ore_no_Seishun_Love_Comedy_wa_Machigatteiru - hillarious, and a good story. Some of those are probably in the top 10-50 but if I had to narrow it down those would be my “have to watch” anime. Maybe not so much DxD, it’s kind of shit, but it’s the best of the shit so honorable mention. Anime I excluded because they’re probably in the top 50 but I feel are worth mentioning/must see: - Death Note - Attack On Titan (eng dub is better here imo) - FMA: Brotherhood - Assassination Classroom - Cowboy bebop - Food Wars - One Punch Man - Your Lie in April (watch at your own risk, depressing A F) Some anime I’m almost sure aren’t in the top 50 I would reccomend: -Saekano -Shimoneta (eng dub is better here imo) -Trigun -3D Kanojo -Yona of the Dawn (eng dub is better here imo) -Kabaneri of the Iron Foretress -The Place Promised in our Early Years -Aho girl |
