 The special stage panel of Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero) at the Crunchyroll Expo convention announced both a second and third season for the anime series on Sunday. The official website also unveiled a new key visual (pictured above). Voice actress Sarah Emi Bridcutt, opening theme performers MADKID, character designer and animator Masahiro Suwa, producer Junichirou Tamura, and music composer Kevin Penkin attended the panel. Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari adapts Yusagi Aneko's adventure fantasy light novel of the same title, which originally launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2012. Kadokawa began publishing the novel with illustrations by Seira Minami the following August. The novel reached a cumulative circulation of 7.8 million copies with the release of the 22nd volume on June 25. Kyu Aiya began serializing a manga adaptation in Comic Flapper in February 2014. Kadokawa shipped the 13th volume on April 23, with the 14th volume planned for a September 21 release. The first anime season produced by Kinema Citrus aired in two cours between Winter and Summer 2019, covering the first five volumes and the beginning of the sixth volume. Crunchyroll—who participated in the anime's production committee—simulcast the show with subtitles. Funimation subsequently streamed an English dub. One Peace Books licensed both the light novel and manga in English in 2015. The 13th light novel volume and the 11th manga volume shipped on December 18 last year and May 28, respectively. Not sure about it's popularity in Crunchy Roll. I drop this anime at episode 8,maybe I should consider watch it again. |

| Excellent news. While i was hoping for a second season having a third added as well was a nice bonus. I really enjoyed the first season and its nice to see that despite the amount of people that hate the series that the hard work performed by both the studio staff and the seiyuu's were able to break through them and create many fans both domestically and internationally. Looking forward to seeing the trinity of Kaito Ishikawa, Asami Seto and Rina Hidaka return as Naofumi, Raphtalia and Filo and inspire us again in the future. |

| Unlike many people, I didn’t even enjoy the first arc all that much so naturally the show was pretty much average throughout its run in my opinion. With that said however, I was thinking that maybe this series would get a 2nd Season announcement in like mid-2020 or so thanks to the ln+manga boosts, hence it’s definitely a surprise getting to know that both 2nd and 3rd Seasons are already in production phase as we speak! I wonder if this corresponds to a split-cour case though, will be interesting to know more about this in due time. Last but not least, Congratulations to the fans of the franchise! |

| It was never in doubt. Shit’s huge in Akiba and the LN’s are some of the best selling here in Japan. I just hope they faithfully adapt the source material instead of skipping and changing so much like they did at the end of 1. |
