I think the novel has something like 20 volumes and the 1st season only did like a quarter or so, so they're probably gonna try and adapt as much as they can while it's still hot. Interesting though how 2 seasons are already so soon announced, whereas other isekai LN's like Re:Zero took quite a while just to announce 2nd season |

It recovered a bit in the second cour but still very “ehh” and the last 3 episodes were just horrible imo I’ll see what to do |

But holy shit, the LN sales that it made during the airing skyrocketed like crazy. It doesn't always have to be high bd sales that contribute to another season, but it more or less does for Harem and Ecchi shows like DxD. Even MHA sells over 3k, but gets multiple seasons because of the increase in manga sales and other merch along with popularity. BD sales matter more for harem shows like DxD (as Hero did kinda poorer than expected compared to the 3rd season) as well as non-mainstream anime as well. Also Shield Hero sold a consistent 2.2k-2.3k average for all its copies too, which is pretty good. |

I’d a feeling that maybe we’d get like a Season 2 announcement in like mid-2020 or so but not only did we get one for Season 2, there’s also going to be a Season 3 and it’s announced already?! It’s a lot to take in at the moment but I hope other projects in the near future will receive such an enthusiastic pat on the back too! Something tells me it’s most likely a split-cour case though but who knows. Last but not least, congratulations to the fans of the series! |

| Honestly I'm quite happy about this. Hopefully they take their time more with these future seasons and try to flesh out the animation more at certain parts. Not surprised this got 2 sequels already, given how the total sales it had nearly tripled I believe. Gotta check the #'s again Can't wait to see the salty people trying to bring this show down again lol. I know it's not perfect, but from what those people have been trying to say about this show is just plain ridiculous |

| No details are out. This could be 1-cour for each season for all we know. Anyway, hopefully it's a different studio. Kinema Citrus has better stuff to do with their talent. They should focus on anime that isn't pro-slavery, for starters. Going back to anime with a good story and good character development like Made in Abyss would be great too. |

| Not sure how interested I am in this, to be honest. I mostly enjoyed season 1 and found it better than the average isekai fare, but it tailed off so badly in the second half. Plus, the character writing is woeful all around and I simply can't see it getting better. |

The LN is up to V22. The anime left off at the beginning of V6. Remember this is an LN adaptation not a manga adaptation. |
