Okay the clone part was not that difficult to see coming by now but... the ending reveal was really out of left field

Did they really never specifically say the word Earth before? It's not really something I've tried to pay attention to but if not that's actually a pretty cool and subtle twist. Though I'm not sure what kind of overall relevance it'll actually have other than Polina being screwed over in the process

I feel exactly the same way. I've been expecting the clones thing for a couple of episodes now, but that final reveal came out from nowhere, at least for me.
The banter about the 2 lovebirds was absolutely hilarious.

how can one anime end up in a greater plot twist every episode? also if ulgar is a clone, then his brother was most likely a clone as well, I hope they address this issue
On a side note, does anyone know which chapter to start reading from?

I thought so too at first, but Ulgar's brother was loved by their parents. I think he is an actual child. This is also why in the flashback his "father" said he should have died instead of his brother. An actual child, you are emotionally attached to, is worth more than a clone of yourself for that dumb rejuvenation plan.

That does make sense. I think so too tbh but why would his father cooperate with one that killed his son tho. I hope we know in the next couple of episodes
Even if it has good reviews, if I think it's shit then it's shit.

if you remember he said that he was treated like trash while his brother was not
that should answer your question

also its chapter 37 i believe but at this point you might as well just wait for the anime to finish

nvm someone answered you im kinda blind

Welp, I suspected the clone thing but the planet twist surprised me but I see that it was actually all in our face when they first had shown it.

Good point. I'd like to know that too. I'm sure Luca's adoptive father will play a larger role (kinda expect him to be the mastermind) the next few episodes. So I expect this question to be answered soon.

Polina you're wrong, Earth is wherever Kanata lives. You wouldn't find a single guy like him in origianl Earth.

Also the Aries/Charce/Seira background is not fully revealed yet, so prepare for another twist.

But my version of twist would be, due to time dilation, when Polina go back to her original Earth it's already year 5740, human civilization revert back to stone age, and she meet Dr. Stone.

You are so correct, Kanata is so perfect he's other-worldly, confirmed.

The only thing that isn't making sense to me is any possibility that Aries and Seira are one in the same, because that would mean Seira is probably a clone as well and her and Aries were made at the same time, that's the only explanation I can see for how she and Charce are around the same age.

I hope that's like the last real big thing to be explained. Great episode.

I was thinking that Aries is the vessel for Seira because of her ever sleeping body. Her parents or idk who may have wanted her to be "reborn" or waken up but since her body is unable to function, a clone has been created, hence Aries and Seiras close ages.

Loving the anime so far, really hope this has a happy ending!

Tho I got a little confused as to why the planet name is Astra. Polina might be from a really distante future and the earth has changed both in name also in shape!

Can't wait to see how this ends up to be!

And if someone can help, how many episodes is it going to have?

What I don't get is in the first ep, Zack says "Astra is a old word for a star" and Kanata says so it makes for ship to be named Astra

If this was their home planet's name surely they would have noticed.
And the blob (which is human made tech) appering again in another planet again after the original's assumed they died
and people watching the ship through cams

I think maybe there are a few more twists

Well the clone stuff had been the winning theory for a while, though it seemed a bit lazy to just cut to the parents while they divulge every detail of their plan randomly 88 days into the journey.

And I always found it weird that they never said where their home was, so I just assumed their home wasn't Earth, and that they inhabited multiple planets, but what's with the name Astra? You'd have thought they'd have a reaction when they found a ship called Astra while their home is also called Astra.

OK holy shit that was amazing! Everyone being a clone was shocking but it was the ending that blew my mind.

Also, the Sket Dance humor in this was gold! Zack could very well be a Sket Dance character at this point.

One more twist to be revaled yet. While we also need to ponder about how explosive Zack's emotions are XD

Oh. My. Fucking. God! That episode was dropping bombs left, right and centre!

The reveal that they're all just cloned bodies for their 'parents' to harvest and use made me feel sick, especially Quitterie's mother who made an extra clone just to use as an organ donor. I have a feeling that Aries isn't a clone of her mum but is actually a clone of Siera (Charce's childhood friend) because she either died or had massive brain failure after the accident

And that plot twist at the end... that was some Planet Of The Apes level twist 😳

ANNNNND, we also still don't know who the traitor is so that's gonna be fun *she said sarcastically*

The Astra twist got me way harder than the clones one. I had been wondering all this time if the show was set in our world's future or it was a different made-up setting, turns out it's a different planet in the same universe.

The thought that Kanata and the others who have been clones are a foresight coming since the Quitterie/Funi incident, and their parents behind it, is a no-brainer at this point. It was quite an elaborate plan.

On the Astra, Zack has everyone on their toes after finding out the hard facts. Skipping out Chapter 32 (which is just surface fodder) and into the heart of Chapter 33-35, we finally got the revelation that we've been seeking for. The link between them and their non-existant children, they're one and all the same.

Zack finally Let the cat out of the bag about him and Quitterie, and had Kanata and the others in awe. It was definitely hilarious at how his unemotionalistic self just didn't gave any cuts about it. Haha I loved it.

Final stop: the Earth, their home. BUT IT'S NOT the Earth Paulina was seeking...instead it was Kanata and their version of "Earth" they call Astra. What a mindblow.

Lots of bombshells are dropped this episode, that makes it for an inclusive experience not to be forgotten. Definitely a huge plot twist. The final 3 episodes will be some of the best set-ups for the finale.

Impresive. No, really - how many times can you "twist" the plot/leave it on a cliffhanger and still somehow make it feel fresh?
Most times after multiple "cliffs" you either get bored/tired or you see them coming from a mile but here... holy macaroni - they did it again.
When the reveal about clones happened I was like "ok, no more cliffhangerotwists from this point on, ok ok" then I got grand slammed in the nuts.

Soooo - more planets are habitable? Or maybe some sort of alternate dimension/reality shift? When they woke Polina she was shocked that they came from a certain ammount of years from the future and the way she said it it was like she thought there was some sort of calamity/world-ending event maybe?
Or maybe - she didn't sleep for xx years but for xxxx years and humanity was rebuilt after many years?
Dayum it was years since I was playing so much with different theories in my head - I'm lovin' it.

Honestly? The half of the episode was painful out of character explanation and the other half was just needless geeking out about the Quitterie x Zack marriage thing.

But the end... fuck! Something is really fishy here. Polina is clearly the same clone clone as Quitterie or Funi and Aries background is still left in shadow.

Right now, I'm thinking about the theory they are in some kind of simulation every since they were sucked into that sphere as their trip challenge but some parts still doesn't click together well.
Wonder how it goes in the end.

MIND BOGGLED

Okay, the clone reveal was pretty obvious but it was still well done but that cliffhanger at the end man. Now I have to anxiously wait for next week.

But if there all clones, then who is the traitor that has been trying to sabotage the ship? (If that plot line is brought back up at all) In my opinion, it has to be Aries. Considering that the majority of the parents have been givng them the cold shoulder, only Aries's mother has been acting like a good and caring parent. If she is not adpoted, then she must be subconsiously sent with the rest of the main characters to make sure that they are dead.

Regarding the infiltrator, Charce and Aries are the most suspect. Aries is obviously Seira's clone. Could it be because Charce wanted his companion back? And he would have some motive to prevent the truth from being known, in order to protect the noble family.

"According to research in behavioral genetics, the effects of genes and environment are about equal"

- Nonsense. They made that up for the show. For example, nothing predicts academic success more than IQ, which is an innate trait, almost completely unchanging. And our brains are far more affected by the hormones in our body than most people know. Hormones shaped by DNA.

While childhood behavior is greatly affected by environment, the effect wanes, and adult behavior is far more shaped by DNA. THIS is known in the research in behavioral genetics.

I would assume Aries's mum doesn't have a clue what's going on. At the parents meeting she wasn't familiar with any of the other "parents", as well as she was the only one who seemed concerned. I could say she put on an act, but it also shows her in Aries's room determined to find Aries. If she was in on the plan, she wouldn't play the worried mum act at home.
So Aries is most likely adopted and raised by her adoptive mother, I can't remember the father being mentioned though? Aries is definately a mystery, though I doubt she's Seria (or whatever her name is).

It's a safe bet Ulgar's brother was close to finding out about the clones, and then because Ulgar is a clone his "father" was either blackmailed or just covering his own back. So he stayed quiet. That seems obvious.

I just took it the kids were either from Earth or another earthlike planet. It's possible a new world was discovered and Earth was covered up (for whatever reason). If they are looking into memory transplants, is memory alteration possible? The spy as well could be being controlled and has no idea of their actions (I mean clones, space travel, why not brainwash technology). Though it's a bit boring that way. Unless that damn puppet is more relevant than just Funi's quirk.

The Astra ship is pretty convient, unless someone is trying to help the clones. Who would park a ship next to where the evidence were suppose to go? Because it clearly cannot be random.

Though how did no one notice these clones beforehand? Seeing as the law checks genetics, I'm pretty sure an alarm could have been raised before. Especially if it's Aries. Surely not every medical professional is in on this plan lol

quitterie and zack are definitely my favorite couple
about everyone being a clone was no surprise, in fact I was relieved that they realised soon
but what arouses my great suspicion is the relationship between Charce's past and Aries, surely there will come something from these two

and...

WHAT THE HELL WAS THIS END?
stopping to think, they never referred to their planet as "Earth"

bruh how can one episode change so much , didn't see all of them being clones coming but explains why so many of the originals were not that phased by them missing at the meeting.

everyone besides Polina is a alien! i can't believe they really never said earth this whole time we been played

show loves dropping bombs right at the last second

still not 100% sold on some the other crew members like Ulgar with his brother and Aries

This episode really turned the series around for me, in a good way. I really disliked their flashbacks before, as they didn't make sense to me with how the "parents" acted. But now it makes way more sense. It also kinda makes me forgive the cringy space adventures and "dangers" because the space journey is simply a plot device to send them away.

Dude holy shit! This anime and its fucking BOMBSHELLS!!!

Okay we knew Quitterie and Funi were clones, but holy shit all of them being clones!!! And it makes sense from previous episodes!!!

Ulgers brother probably stumbled onto that as the secret.

Aries though??? Like is she cloned from that girl Charce used to be friends with or is she that girl Charce was friends with???

Then we get Kanata being freaking awesome AGAIN! One of the best characters this season.

Then we get some comedy gold when Zack is talking about how much he loves Quitterie.

We think it's over now and everything is alright, Earth is in sight, the crew is going home...wait...hold on...that...IS NOT EARTH!!! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO EARTH!?!?! Poor Polina dude T_T

So now she lost her crew and her whole freaking planet?!?!?! The cliffhangers for this anime are insane!!!

Yo they never mentioned the Word "Earth" once throughout the Series!!! CRAZY!

Ok I'm pretty sure most of us saw that they were "clones" twist coming but what the fuck was up with that last bit? THEY WEREN'T FROM EARTH!??? or rather.. that planet wasn't EARTH!?? Planet Astra? What in the actual fucking twist? guess 1 twist wasnt enough for them in 1 ep and decided to deliver one bomb shell at the end too. Jesus fucking christ that caught me off-guard. I had my doubts since they never ONCE mentioned going back to the specific name of the planet but I still didn't expect it. This ep took one hell of a jump compared to the prev ones. I.WANT.MOREEEE.
Also lol at Aries' fangirling over Zack and Quitterie.
So are there any more twists? like Aries is actually a clone of Seira? Charce who actually already knows this or something? and I forgot that we do have 1 more problem, who's the mole? did the mole just give up on trying to sabotage them or?

So, they're all clones? I remember a scene of a previous episode where a woman was pushing to make an expedition or something alike to search these kids, that's why I still believe someone in that ship has to be a 'real person'. Also, congrats to the happy couple!

The reveal of all them being clones wasn't surprising but at least, the scene was handled in a somewhat decent way. The subsequent sequence with the parents simply confirming the theory was horribly executed tho.

And the last revelation regarding the planet where the kids were from felt... sudden, like out of nowhere. It wasn't shocking at all since I don't know how relevant it will be for the story but let's see how the series will handle it... I'm not expecting much tho.

P.S.: So... Funi is basically a bank of organs with legs? Damn, that's harsh.

Luca and Ulgar were the only ones stated to have two parents, and the ones ones to have brothers. All the other parents appear to be single. Several of them have been out right stated as such. Even Funi's first "mom" didn't have a husband.

The "Astra" ship, which most likely wasn't it's original name, was not likely left by anyone looking to help the clones. It seems it was part of the Ark series like Poline's ship. Even when they found it they said it was quite old.

The genome control act is very new, only recently passed. In episode 5 we see Marco walking to his car after submitting his DNA, meaning they didn't have it on file until then. The police may check the DNA of any bodies they find, but that doesn't mean they regularly check people's DNA. It's possible they are always treated at Olive's hospital where she could take care of such things, except Charce who is from a different district. Until now there might not have been a global DNA registry.

I thought they would have Kanata as the captain marry the couple...

Still not sure if the parents really tried to kill the kids, or to only fake their deaths for the public.
Maybe that wormhole tech malfunctioned or just the target location can't be precisely specified?
The ship could have been occupied with someone waiting to retrieve the bodies in preparation for the memory transfer, but something unexpected happened to them?

Not sure how this memory transplant technology works but isn't this like creating a copy and not doing a transfer? After it there would be two different people with the same memories but with different bodies.
Why you should care if there is another you with your exatc life goals? Like some scientists or other "men with a mission" would be plausible but random rich snobs?
Not exactly rejuvenation or immortality for the original.

The "spare parts" clone looks like way more practical thing.

MC's idea to confront their "parents" directly is a bit problematic. Some rich an influential people here. They probably have connections with the criminal world with enough resources to dispose of the clones less gracefully but faster and more effectively (ban on weapons or not).
Also there is the legal question - are the clones treated as human beings? How about illegal clones?
Maybe they should stay away from Ea...I mean Astra at least until they sort those things out.

So maybe Polina slept a liiittle longer that we expected. Humanity found new home, forgot about Earth (or maybe something more complex has happened) but how they are still speaking the same language (whatever this universal language is here...Japanese? Esperanto?) centuries later?
How they can talk directly to Polina without some period of adjustment?

I think that if their ship is from the Ark series in it's database (which was obviously updated later with information about the habitable planets) there should be some information (if not censored) about the Solar System.

I didn't get the "looking at Astra through the telescope" moment.
If they are using some FTL technology that works around the time dilation effect that should be impossible...or maybe I didn't understood how they are seeing Astra at that moment.

I feel exactly the same way. I've been expecting the clones thing for a couple of episodes now, but that final reveal came out from nowhere, at least for me.
The banter about the 2 lovebirds was absolutely hilarious.

I thought from the beginning that this was just an alternate universe that didn't follow reality. For one their tech is wayyyyyy too advanced for 2061 if going by our timeline. Not to mention that old lady said that she went on the space camp adventure too when she was a kid, which would mean she went around the year we are in now which is obviously impossible. Also Charces story in episode 7 didn't jive at all with our history.
