The first batch of close to 40 games that will be launched on the platform includes Valve’s “Dota2” and “Dota Underlords.” All of the titles are available on the international version of Steam." | Valve should tell the commie censors in China to go fuck themselves, and other devs should do the same when American SJWs complain about "sexism" or European/Australian censors complaining about "excessive violence" and "lolicon/shota". Nobody should cave in to censorship anywhere. |

| Now they can remove all the Winnie the Poo games as anything to do with that is banned but I don't know why. Also, people are being massive hypocrites here. Steam has been censoring games since day one for the Western market and they only just allowed nudity. |

| Well, this increasing desire and ability to bring an end to the "Wild West" era of the internet (R.I.P.) and ensure everyone in a country's borders is meeting ideological compliance is an issue everywhere, not just in China. Although certain countries are more and more interested in developing their "intranet" (like an internet alternative cut off from the outside world for domestic usage and heavily controlled) to this end. The best thing to do is support those Pirate Bay type black sites operating in Vietnam and other parts of Southeast Asia where they skirt detection or local law tolerates them. And this isn't even the first controversy with Steam kowtowing to these regulations, since they've worked hand in glove with Western censors over restricting the full versions of the Dead or Alive series games and they ended up restricted only to Japan and for East Asian release. A lot of Westerners aren't even aware of the extent they're proactively involved in keeping content from reaching the country unless they read an article about it after the fact.
