Believe it or not some people do. They even go as far as to proclaim that they are ruining anime...

If you dislike them... why?
Explain how exactly are they ruining anime for you?

Because in my opinion it is the contrary. I think they are saving anime by making it much more visually appealing.

Before the rise of the cute boys doing cute things, Bishonen-Doujins, and modern Yaoi-Pairing; anime was never this popular.

It is clearly doing something right!

Cute boys are alright but I can't stand the cool boy that might be a romantic rival to the uncool male MC

CBDCT will be the salvation of anime!

Maybe it is cute aggression? But it doesn't add up.
I'm surprised too. Can not fathom how someone can see pic related, and hate it...

I personally really care not about "realism" and that ugly persons need repræsentation too and all that stuff.

I'm perfectly fine with my otherworld where all the characters are super cute; the more cute characters the better.

Let's create a perfect world where puberty exists not and 20 year old characters all still look like lolis.

It is obvious that "obscenity" is not a term capable of exact legal definition; in the practice of the courts, it means "anything that shocks the magistrate".

Not really. Well it depends on what personality the character portrayed.

He good boy? I like him

He bad? to the ranch

No matter how cute the character looks if he has a shitty/annoying personality then he certainly ruins the anime by pissing me off by his actions or over the top fake cute reactions eg: Honey-senpai

On the other hand cute guys with a good personality just make everything so much better eg: Ki-ja

Also yaoi pairing are cancer, specially the ones involving abuse/rape or when the characters being shipped are not even gay to begin with.

Never saw any male character as "cute". I do refer to characters like Mob and Tanjiro as "pure/wholesome" but never cute. I only like cute on girls and furry animals.

I was thinking of someone like Shaoran from CCS. Sakura and Shaoran are the most ridiculously cute pairing I’ve seen in the medium, so I’m cool with it.

Seems you’re talking about bishounen though. I don’t have a strong opinion regarding them.

I am male and straight so I have never seen any boys or men as "cute" or in any way attractive.

Newborn babies are adorable though.

I mean, remember way back in 2013 when Free! came out? Everyone was saying that anime is a lost cause and that it's the end of the world because the KyoAni decided make a show about some pretty boys doing things. Then when Kill La Kill came out (IN THE SAME YEAR) everyone was celebrating even though at face value, it's a bunch of hot girls fighting in kinky attire.

I think there's a double standard amongst us weebs.

Actually people were complaining about the sexism/objectification of men

Also you can’t compare kill la kill to free

Free it just straight up objectification

I don't like men in real life, but I can appreciate good looking men. Most of the hate that pretty boys get is from homophobes anyway. Always amazing how most men can lack so much empathy for their own gender to be honest...

I remember back when Free!! aired everyone was complaining. Women complain about echii and what happens? absolutely nothing. The world's priorities are so bad . You can objectify women all the time but when anime about hot men appears you care? lmao at double standards

I'll humor you one last time.

If you genuinely believe that ecchi and harems NEVER objectify women but ALL reverse harems, shojo/josei romances, BL, and CBDCT shows automatically objectify men, how would you go about creating a work that provides eye candy for women that does the same thing as ecchi does with female characters but with male characters, without "objectifying" the men?

Or is just that you believe that only straight men are allowed to have any eye candy, ever?

Not in this thread, but you've said numerous times in other threads that all reverse harems and ~the entire demographic of shoujo and josei manga~ objectify men while ecchi for men do not objectify women somehow. You could make a drinking game about how often you get mad at the mere existence of female gaze. We literally had an argument about it yesterday. I can quote you if you want.

I want to know why you think this and what makes the numerous giant titty shows you exclusively watch any different. What's the difference between say, Keijo and Free, what makes former good but the other bad enough to say that it shouldn't exist, other than target audience, and what could one to to be more like the other? If you're right, how would you go about "fixing" them while still appealing to the target audience?

“Giant titty shows” why to show your true colours in the first sentence

The difference between keijo and free

Well first keijo triggered both the ugly basement dweller fujoshi‘s and the ugly man hating feminists as well

I said that because looking at your profile there are... giant titties. Everywhere. And you're the one who showed their true colors by saying things like "ugly man hating feminists" (even though you yourself were trying to use progressive sounding language before...), when I'm being nothing but civil to you.

Also you didn't answer my question. Why is ecchi for men so wonderful to you, but anything catering to the female gaze is bad and should not exist? What does stuff catering to the male gaze do that stuff catering to the female gaze does wrong other than catering to a different demographic? How is BL, otome games, cute boys doing cute things etc "objectifying" but ecchi is not? If you're correct, how would you go about making a work that caters to the female gaze that doesn't "objectify men" in the same way you think ecchi doesn't do to women? Why is it okay to sexualize women but not men? Why are the shoujo and josei demographics synonymous with fanservice to you but shounen and seinen are not?

Why is "ugly basement dwelling fujoshi" being "triggered" by an ecchi show bad, yet you yourself CONSTANTLY complain about the mere existence of anime targeted at a female audience? Isn't that a little hypocritical? Can't you just let people enjoy things?

I said at face value man. I'm not going to try and argue with you considering that @HeruruMeruru has already done that but either way, shows with a lot of ass shots, panty shots and girls in generally lewd situations are fine and get no flack but if a show even dares to show a guy shirtless for more than a millisecond, it's wrong and objectifying. Surely you realise how absurd it sounds right?

Give it up luv. Just a quick visit to your profile already invalidates all your complaints. Stop while it's early.

Also your argument against Free doesn't even make sense. If you're gonna say KLK's fanservice is justified because of the context of the show then I can say the same thing for Free.
