(Gijinka is also called 'moe anthropomorphism' and is basically the art of representing non-human creatures or objects with human form)

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against it, I even like gijinka, but the problem is that nowadays there is too much of it, I like animal characters and always want to watch any anime with animals but most of the ones with animals are old and there is almost no new ones with animal characters because everything is gijinka now, like, if you hear about an anime of a fox deity, it won't be a real fox, it will be a over sexualized loli with fox ears and tail (nothing against people who like lolis) and I find it to be pretty annoying, I would like more anime with animals were made but they are moeficating everything now...

Again, I have nothing against gijinka and even like it, but I think they should make more anime with real animal characters, what do you guys think about it? And if you know any anime (or manga) with animal characters please recommend me it

Have you heard about Beastars? It's pretty good manga all about animals, and it's "inspired" by zootopia, and it's gonna have an anime adaptation next season.

I personally don't care for it, but it seems to be growing in popularity. Winter had a raccoon girl everyone was fawning over, spring had a girl fox, and summer is going to have that bunny girl from arifureta I think.

Furries have leveled up I guess. Part of me cannot hate them, as in my dark past I often drew furries in order to pay off bills. I owe to furries food and the roof over my head back from 4 or 5 years ago.

Hoshi Mamoru Inu is a really short manga (8 chapters) about "real life" dogs and it's pretty wholesome and I like it a lot and yeah I shall recommend it to you.

My Roommate is a Cat had both animals and humans but the animals were realistic.

Well, this Fall season has both Africa no Salaryman and Beastars, so you will have "real animals" (since they are anthropomorphic animals) to enjoy, hopefully.

Animals with some human traits are ok. But those moe dummies with appearance of a normal human with tail and ears are meh

Foxes were almost always portrayed as humans or portrayed as being able to turn into humans because on their folklore foxes are master illusionists and master tricksters as well as many tales of fox taking the form of humans and marrying men.
Despite that it isn't like I can say it doesn't happen in general, it definitely has appeal and it's interesting to see how someone manages it.

With some lenience on the level of anthropomorphization, I second Beastars, fantastic manga which is getting adapted soon
There's also Oumagadoki Doubutsuen by the mangaka of Boku no Hero Academia, the one shot and the serialization have extremely different portrayals of the main character but it might still be worth a shot
I can't really think of anything else but searching through categories on Baka Updates might prove to be a valuable tool, if you're not doing that already

I felt the same way about Senko-san, would have been 100% up my alley if it were a cute floofy fox soothing people with adorable fox antics and pets.

I really do wish "cute animals/monsters doing cute things" was a genre. I love Chi's Sweet Home, How to Keep a Mummy, and My Rommate's a Cat, and I want there to be more like that.

@beminim What a life lol, but I really prefer the "vanilla" furries with characters that look more animal-like then the ones with the kemonomimi characters

I did get people who requested vanilla furries but most of them were porny lmao. One thing I did learn and that I think is still a thing, is that furries pay well. Even so most artists who do furries do not like them at all

No problem. Regarding manga, read also Animal Land. From the creator of Zatch Bell. One of the most epic manga regarding animals and humans.

Though haven't read it yet, Sacrificial Princess is also very good

She's not in the adaptions yet but check it out her name in the wiki of Fate Grand Order game you'll find her pretty easily ! Or Simply just google her x)

If you want one I can give you jungle taitei, I had many vhs/dvds. It's quite old but I have good feelings when I remember it.
