So, the Land vs Sky OVA is adapting the Tokyo Qualifiers arc of the manga, they probably made the decision to make this arc into an OVA to make space for the Inarizaki match in S4. One concern I have is that people might accidentally skip the OVAs so I'm warning Haikyuu fans, MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE OVA's. Not only is this arc awesome, it's also plot essential, it introduces multiple new characters. Don't accidentally skip it because Haikyuu OVAs haven't been mandatory or important in the past.

Yeah, i really cannot echo this statement enough. The OVA will be 100% canon stuff and is literally a sequel to S3 as it happens right after it. So yes, DO NOT skip it.

Would be good to make it not just a thread, but actually change links info, so that s3 had OVA as a sequel and OVA had s4 as a sequal.

Any chance that they'll animate the cats, owls, snakes matches in the regular series with the ova being a short summary? They did it with the exams arc

I don't think so honestly, the OVA is 2 episodes long, 40 minutes each I think, and they even have really proper official art of Nohebi, Fukurodani and Nekoma for it. Not to mention that the S4 summary only mentions the Ballboy arc, with no mention of the Tokyo Qualifiers arc.

@Apricck Judging from this source, it’ll be 25 minutes each.

How the hell am I supposed to watch these before S4 when they don't even come out until after?

No, the first OVA supposedly comes out tomorrow. The BD release is the January date. Hopefully Crunchyroll or something will stream the OVA so we can watch before S4.

Stuff that debuts at Jump Festa usually doesn't come out until months after the fact though...

So judging by the way they not only made it an OVA but have it come out after it starts airing, it won't be *too* important till a little more into the season?
you don't win alone. that's just how it is.

This is literally where I stopped reading the manga as I caught up to it! I am glad I did not hop right back on so soon! Now I can wait and just watch this stuff! Thanks for the reminder!

It's not out yet. Not sure if crunchyroll is translating it.

You could read the manga of that arc if you wanna know before S4 airs. I heard the OVAs cut out a lot of manga content anyway.

It's only coming out January 22nd, but don't worry, it'll be out before the episodes reach any important plot points or characters the OVA covers.
