Only one I can actually I think of is Lyle from Gundam 00. Him being Neil’s twin would be the plot’s fault. laviha said: I like Suzaku from Code Geass, he's cute For some reason, his haters are either lelouch fanboys/fangirls or people who hate/dislike Code Geass in general. He somewhat looks adorable with that green eyes and brown hair combo. puneetsingh said: Nobita Nobi. I don't like him because he has bad habits but I like him because he is a great character as without him Doraemon would've not been the same as it is. I remembe watching Doraemon and I thought he was pathetic. |

Should I troll in the troll bait threads? It is kinda idiotic to be logical in the troll bait threads. Well, it will depend on my mood. |

I'm one of Gintama fans that hate her but I don't know a lot of people hate her lol. Most of my friends that love Gintama feels indifferent toward her. However, I like her when she visit his father at prison story. Well, otae along with otsuu are mostly hated by gintama fans mainly because of their treatment of kondo. I find that hypocritical since by their logic, Otae hitting people makes her the devil (even though most of the characters are subject to slap-stick), but Kondo stalking her is a-okay. I’m pretty sure her haters wouldn’t like getting stalked by anyone. Gintama fans have a soft spot for kondo. The dude is probably the kindest anime character I have seen. It does annoy people when otae constantly treat him like shit. I don't hate otae tho, deep down she cares for him. |

Imaishi said: IDK about everyone, but there is tons of very open hate towards FT's Lucy and I really like her, the most of all the show's characters. She's super fun to watch, she's both cute and hot, damn funny and is probably the most normal of the bunch personality-wise. IDK, I find it hard not to like her. She’s hated because there’s a lot of brainelss fanboys/fangirls who think that any anime character who isn’t an invincible and emotionless badass, especially in an action anime, is worthless. God forbid anime characters show weaknesses. Lucy’s okay, if anything, I hate Juvia. |

Thanks for waiting I guess; Anywhere I go I see people saying Griffith sucks or fuck Griffith, those phrases are literally associated with his name now. Of course people are going to disagree because we base this shit off of personal experience. You'll find tons of people who love XYZ characters and tons who hate them. |

Shinji Matou from the Fate series, he's such an unapologetic asshole and piece of shit and deserves everything bad that happens to him but I can't dislike him for that, it's such a treat to watch how low can he sink. |

While writing this I realized I like tons of characters that lots of people hate, so I will divide this in groups to make it more organized (it has lots of potential spoilers too, click at your own risk): Hated characters that I like and are meant to be hated Shaiapouf from HunterxHunter. Everyone hates him for being a psycho infatuated with Meruem and trying to kill Komugi. However, he was so hillarious, contradictory and even tragic, I cannot help but love him. Plus his abilities are awesome and he has some sick violin skills (one of my fav tracks of the Chimera Ant arc) Kyubey from Madoka. Without him, the series would have been boring (it's more, it wouldn't have even happened in the first place), and I find him really amusing. He was also trying to save the universe, and without him, people would still living in caves, we owe him and his race more of what we can think. Diavolo from JoJo. Fans often regard him as the weakest main villain from JoJo, but I personally like him way more than Dio, and especially Kars. He’s also by far the creepiest main antagonist of the series, not doubting in killing his own men in gruesome ways to make an example of them and even personally hurting a child in order to fulfill his ambitions, but it is also reasonable enough to not cause unnecessary carnage if he can avoid it (unlike Dio), a quality that I like in villains. His interactions with Doppio were nice too. Ren Gyouken from Magi. She's a crazy bitch, but a really entertaining crazy bitch. The cast of Mayoiga. I agree they are a bunch of retarded assholes, but they are also a bunch of highly enjoyable retarded assholes. Tyuule from Gate. Was she a bitch? Yes. But she was hot bitch, and I love those ones. Shinji from Fate. He did nothing wrong. Even if he was a piece of shit and deserves everything bad that happens to him in the story, I find his character actually interesting and tragic, way more of what people would credit him for. I’m still waiting for a Servant of him for Fate/Grand Order. Bondrewd from Made in Abyss. He did nothing wrong either. He’s badass, stylish, memetic and was what carried the first part of the series. Even though the author managed to make the series interesting without him later, I don’t think I would had pick the manga if it wasn’t for him. Embryo from Cross Ange. Another one who did nothing wrong. Let’s be honest here, he carried the series (along with Ange herself), was a true man of culture, sings really well, was delightful hateable and if you believe in the theory that he was a caricature of the creepy otaku obsessed with his waifu and their purity, he ends being even better. Hated characters that I like and are popular in their fandom, but have lots of detractors too Emiya Shirou from Fate/Stay Night. I can understand why people hate him, but after reading the VN and undertsanding his character more, I ended liking him and his development (especially in HF) very much. Nadeko Sengoku from the Monogatari Series. Personality-wise, she is an awful character, I admit it, but she is so well-written I just cannot dislike her. Her arc in Second Season was also very good (the second best after Koimonogatari, probably). Her openings are also really catchy, so... Also her mirror-self in Zoku Owarimonogatari was very fun to watch. Tatsuya Shiba from Mahouka. Is he a Gary Stu? Totally. But Mahouka would have been even shittier without him, so he deserves praise as the one and only true God for making such borefest fun at moments. Lenalee Lee from D. Gray Man. Many fans (more like fangirls) hated her because she was useless in the Noah Arc arc (I think it has something to do too with her being ship-teased with Allen), when, without her, Lavi, Bookman, Krory and Miranda would have been killed by the Level 3 Akuma in their journey to Edo and she gave her power to save them, nearly dying. Also, she gets and awesome power upgrade later when Lulubell invades the Black Order Headquarters and the Level 4 Akuma appears, so her being useless it's not a valid complaint anymore. Though I admit that the mangaka shafted her hard after that part of the story, though not as much as Lavi. Sayaka Miki from Madoka. Same as Kyubey. She's the least liked of the main five girls, but her story was so tragic I cannot help but love her a lot. It also helps she is the magical girl whom the show spends more episodes about. Plus she's voiced by Eri Kitamura. She was also the only character of the series I truly cared about along with Kyuubey. Subaru Natsuki from Re: Zero. He may be a cringy asshole at times, but his breakdowns were fucking hilarious. I also legit enjoyed the performance of his seiyuu. Orihime Inoue from Bleach. I can understand why people hate her, but I didn't mind her that much. If anything, she was wasted hard by Kubo, considering the potential of her powers. Also loved dem IchiRuki tears when she ended up with Ichigp. Asta from Black Clover. I admit I disliked him a bit at first, but he grew on me as the series progressed, and now I'm in love with my smol, loud boi. That his voice actor improved on his take on the character helped a lot. Hated characters that I like and are also intended for comic relief (more or less) Excalibur from Soul Eater. I guess hating him is intended, but, for me, he is just too funny to hate. Ichiya from Fairy Tail. Some people find him annoying, I think he is the funniest character from FT. Oh, well. Tamanawa (AKA Mr. hands) from Oregairu. I don't know how the guy can have so many people hating him in Anime Planet. I think he was very funny and his scene was one of the highlights of the second season. A great caricature of how pretentious people can get at times. Shigechi from JoJo. He may be a greedy prick, but he was a minor who died like a hero trying to save his family and his friends over his own life. Part 4 may be scarce of deaths compared to other parts, but Shigechi's death was one of the deaths who hit me the most out of all the JoJo franchise. His Stand was also very awesome despite how silly it may look at first. Hated characters that I like and don’t belong to neither of the above cathegories Kyousuke Kousaka from Oreimo. Yeah, he dumped all those girls, but after all he followed his heart, it wasn’t his fault that the author was a complete pussy either. Plus he is actually one of the most useful harem main characters I have ever seen, I don't know how he managed to stand Kirino that much. Raki from Claymore, just for his manga version, though, since in the anime he was left as a whiny, useless kid and didn't develop at all. In the manga, he becomes a badass (for a common human standard) and is not as idiotic as his anime counterpart. Ranta from Grimgar. Yeah, he may be an asshole, but his character was a breath of fresh air to the anime where the power of friendship wins over all and I liked how he was devoted to his job over making friends (who is logical in a world where you can be killed at any time). And anyway, he comes to accept his friends by the end of the series and even risk his life for them, so, in my eyes, he was redeemed. Mora from Rokka no Yuusha. Her manipulative behaviour in the series trying to kill Adlet garnered her the hate of many, especially when it was revealed that she wasn't the 7th Brave at the end, making her look very dumb and stubborn. I, however, enjoyed that side of her a lot, and I loved the scene when she was in denial about Adlet being the 7th. Seeing a grown up woman acting so stubbornly was very adorable. I also heard that she actually had some meaning behind her acitons in the novel, so she probably isn't as nonsensical as the series implies her to be... Seryu Ubiquitous from Akame ga Kill. Without her, I don't think I would have ended enjoying Akame ga Kill that much. Her black-and-white insanity and over-the-top behavior were so entertaining I couldn't help but love her a lot, and she was also cute. About Sheele, she was a plot device whom I didn't give a fuck and even Mine acknowledge Seryu was doing her job when she killed Sheele soo... Plus, her style of fighting was very cool, varied and ridiculous (in a good way), fitting the series a lot. Priscilla from Claymore. Many hate her for killing Teresa and being too OP, but after seeing her backstory in the manga and the reasons behind her Awakening, I cannot help but love her due her complexity. And I also adore her Awakened form (my favorite one along with Isley's one) and how she destroyed everyone who dared to confront her. Rei Miyamoto from Highschool of the Dead. She was hot and, against what I heard before watching the series, she was useful. I may understand people liking Saeko more and hating Rei for leaving Takashi, but I view the hate she receives too excessive. Satomi Murano from Parasyte. A lot of people find her annoying, I actually didn't mind her that much. At least she was smarter than Kana. Nina Einstein from Code Geass. She may be a racist bitch, but I found her too funny to hate. |

People hate Danzo (Naruto) and Akainu (One Piece) for the tragedies they caused, but I really like them as villains. Their logic makes "sense" to me as ones that would justify their actions. I also like Ino (Naruto), Karin (Naruto), and Nami (One Piece) despite how many people seem to find them annoying. All of the Higurashi girls made for great creeps in my opinion. Can't really hate on any of them. People apparently hate Shinji (NGE)? I loved his ass. He was my favorite part of the show, no matter how flawed he was. That's what made him great. I like Fugo (JoJo) well enough and totally understand his decision. It was a reasonable one that I think many would also choose if they had to make the same choice. |

I do find her rather cute. Usagi is worse than her in terms of being whiney and annoying. I would have Chibiusa as my little sister or daughter. She's adorable. Well this is just my unpopular opinion though. I was almost burst into tears when her dream mirror is extracted i mean the way she yells in pain was heartbreaking, also all the things she go through, her feelings for Helios and being forced to separate. Poor girl. |
