There has been a heavy amount of Space references in this series especially in this episode which really didn't resonate with me until the thought crossed my mind of..."Well what if there were people in space when the Stoning took place" Just imagine coming back down to earth and everyone is turned to stone. Thats terrifying.

Felt more like a filler episode to me but still gave some nice details about how Senku survived.

So, they only said some things we knew from the start like Senkuu living and him building things. The only new things were POV monkeys.

Maybe I am the only one who thinks this, but I want Tsukasa to be the protagonist. He's calm, strong, intelligent and quick thinking. Basically, he is all three of the protagonists, but without their annoying Shounen-Jump personalities.

I was really excited about this show... But its turning out to be a disappointment. I know we are only 5 episodes in. But still can some manga reader assure this anime is worth it. To me personally all that hype seems to be unreal.

This Pic right here shows where the series shine, so i suggest stick it around much longer.

Building the world from scratch. That's Senku's role as we bypass the 1st arc of the manga.

The consequence of Senku getting hit from Tsukasa isn't so much of a liability, as his un-petrification isn't complete and the area Senku needed Tsukasa to hit was to release the stone off that area. And Taiju and Yuzuriha had to continue where Senku left off...or is that the case?

Senku's backstory, the beginning of mankind in the stone world, along with POV monkeys are such a chuckle.

This episode is on fire, aside from logic and mature thinking. Very impressive.

Well, im impressive with how Taiju thinks here XD
And knowing about Senku's petrified time looks good imo. Its like something missing is explained well here, like in episode 4 when we knew about Senku's past why he became obsessed with Science.

Can someone explain to me how senkuu broke free from the stone?
i mean he wasn't near bats, or anything that would do anything to the stone.

Beginning of this episode and Senkuu's "origin story" is like 5ch in manga so it cant be stuffed in 1 episode, but im sure that good part of the next episode will be Senkuu's origin( at least half of the episode)
Monkeys were soo funny to me when i was reading the manga and anime did a great job with adapting that and game like Achievements ....

Well, yeah, probably not the whole thing, I wouldn't know about it to that extent, but what we got in this episode, after the first half of it. The monkeys and the achievements were great too indeed.

That was a neat plan on Senku's part. That flashback on what Senku was doing before Taiju woke up was also neato.

What kind of galaxy brain plan was that. Honestly that was a pretty enjoyable episode. Although I didn't really appreciate the cliffhanger getting extended, seeing how Senku (the shiny monkey) started from zero in the stone world.

Seeing Taiju lift that boulder gave me chills though dear lord.

I really liked this episode! We got to see a bit more of how Senku started everything and trying to build everything from nothing really is exhilarating :) Can't wait for the next episode cuz I've got no idea what their next objective will be.

Lol, I'm glad to see what Senkuu experienced before Taijuu and the others were awoken.

This really shows its cracks in intense scenes- that overdramatic Shounen screenwriting that detracts from the atmosphere a lot.

Conversely the rest of the episode was pretty solid- clearly the style suits those kinds of scenes better

I'm only watching this show for Senku. He's fascinating! Suffice it to say I liked the second half a lot. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those shows where I don't mind the plotholes and the asspulls because of my interest in the character.
what plot holes were there in this episode?

This episode was kinda weak, and the pace of this anime is getting kinda weak as well. Idk if it'll get better or worse, but the MC is looking like a lame rn.

Minor stuff like how did Taiju know Senku was in danger? Why did the rock fall so slowly?

I thought that was clear in this episode that Taiju reacted on emotions and instincts but the rock part i would call that poor animation idk

Yeah the instinct thing is what I would call a huge coincidence (also known as an asspull). By the rock falling slowly I meant it fell slowly enough for Yuzuriha to think, run, throw and spread the gunpowder. Too slow. But as I said, it doesn't hinder my enjoyment because I always want to see what Senku does next.

not really , it fits with his character to think like that and act that way, an asspull would imply an implausibility which I don't think it was, as for the rock thing I have to rewatch it as I don't recall it being that dragged out, I interpreted it as going very quick but slowed to contextualize the response of the characters in that situation.

It's good watching Senku surviving on his own.

I'm enjoying the anime a lot. Can't wait for another week for the next episode :<

even though it was interesting to see what senku did when he was the only known human on earth was interesting it wasnt a good time and place to have that flashback. like i dont really care i wanna see how he stayed alive.

Finally, we have seen Senku's point of view when he woke up in the Stone World. As always, more antics have been shown and quite funny as well. But, it was amazing how he painstakingly acquired all the necessary things for humans to survive. Shiny monkey rofl.

Second half was definitely better, but that is probably because the first half somehow felt rushed and slow at the same time. Not sure how to describe it. The action wasn't that great, the manga does a better job of portraying movement. The direction definitely suffered this episode but I still prefer this over fire force so i'm sticking to it.

God I'm really regretting not waiting for the season to end to then watch it all in one sitting. Do you even understand how it feels that I have to wait one whole week to find out what happens next?

Not bad for a backstory episode... that being said , that’s some next level revival fluid if he ends up living.
It’s a bit ironic that the anime stresses the power of science , but then uses plot armour to save Senkuu.

another great episode. i really liked going into more detail of senku's time in petrification and then everything that happened after he was freed, and the monkeys being scared of his pp was hilarious.

another cliffhanger!! damn. can't wait to see what happens!

I feel like they should have showed Senku's alone story a bit before, but in this case they kind of fixed it that way to show that he is a person who has a plan for everything using science, even the threat of death. But overall good episode

Great episode but i think i preferred more the 2nd half because finally a backstory of our little genius xD

But to be honest i never expected him to get the fatal blow, i thought that someone would have saved him.

The first half doesn't make much sense, really. First, after Tsukasa finished killing Senku, he said that they should properly say their goodbyes, therefore he'd let them go with Senku's corpse, yet Taiju started some shenanigan right after as if Tsukasa was going to kill them & not let them take Senku's corpse. Second, the rock throw Taiju did, the goddamn rock was in the air for an awfully nonsensical amount of time, whilst it was supposed to get dropped the second it was thrown. It was cool to see how Senku lived the 6 months before Taiju got revived. However, it was pretty bold of him to assume that he's the first one on the planet to get out of that state.

For a backstory episode it was pretty amusing to say the least. So far best episode in my opinion.

Is it safe to asume those monkeys in this episode is the Japanese macaque (Macaca fuscata)?
By the looks of it, they probably are.

If without jokes, then I did not quite understand what they wanted to say. Do they think that without science, women and color people do not have equal powers with men and whites? Pretty weird social messege.
Level of my english is still too poor, so ask not particularly angry because of my terrible grammar.
