I am divided about this episode. The second part was interesting and funny, especially with the monkeys. But I must admit that I am dubitative about the first part. This cliffhanger starts to be boring now. They should have ended it in this episode.

Great episode as always. Loved seeing Senku first wake up and build stuff.

I hope Dr Stone stops doing these immersion breaking stuff like talking monkeys and last episode's weird cooking class thing.

Other than that loving this series' unique setting.

I really like this show and I''m enjoying it a lot. However, we got a lot of flashbacks from last episode at the start, and then the progression on how to save Senku wasn't the best, IMO. The flashback part of him being the first human alive was definetly nice, but maybe too long and on the wrong timing. Also, even tho I liked last episode's comic progression, I didn't felt that on this episode. The monkey's part were just weird. And I agree with the guys here, that cliffhanger just felt forced.

Taiju's plan to distract Shishiou was unique (albeit unrealistic). Besides that, however, the episode was much of the same -- juvenile jokes, archetypical characters, and generic entertainment.

Seeing Senku set up everything after being being freed from his petrification, was pretty impressive.

Eventho they are dragging this out a bit, sure Senkuu is gonna be alive, however why Tsukasa wasn't even slighty harmed by that explosion is beyond me.

You probably wanted to progress with the story but knowing the details of how it was Senku during his time petrified and finally waking up was refreshing to me, in my opinion.

Personification of animals is something that's been done forever. Even stand-up comedians like Richard Pryor did it.

I understand you. I just feel like they wasted time a little bit at the start of the episode. I do think the flashback was great, but was it now the best time for it? To me it felt like they just wanted to hold onto that cliffhanger.

Nice to see how Senku got up from stone fragments and start from year zero. As for the stome fragments on the neck of Senku, it will probably heals Senku's neck as we saw at Yuzuriha's foot. Also the monkey part is weird.

More backstory on when he woke up alright. But they ended it without even revealing if he was saved or not well of course he's alive he's the MC but still you know.

Senku such a clever man. After he figured out the formula to turn people back from stone he must have decided not to use it on the back of his neck for future protection.

I was really excited about this show... But its turning out to be a disappointment. I know we are only 5 episodes in. But still can some manga reader assure this anime is worth it. To me personally all that hype seems to be unreal.

Senku has a sharp mind and a true genius, who could count that accurately every second of a thousands of years- true mentality at work!
I would've gone insane on the 50th count, that's all I could've managed.

There has been a heavy amount of Space references in this series especially in this episode which really didn't resonate with me until the thought crossed my mind of..."Well what if there were people in space when the Stoning took place" Just imagine coming back down to earth and everyone is turned to stone. Thats terrifying.

Felt more like a filler episode to me but still gave some nice details about how Senku survived.

So, they only said some things we knew from the start like Senkuu living and him building things. The only new things were POV monkeys.

Maybe I am the only one who thinks this, but I want Tsukasa to be the protagonist. He's calm, strong, intelligent and quick thinking. Basically, he is all three of the protagonists, but without their annoying Shounen-Jump personalities.

Building the world from scratch. That's Senku's role as we bypass the 1st arc of the manga.

The consequence of Senku getting hit from Tsukasa isn't so much of a liability, as his un-petrification isn't complete and the area Senku needed Tsukasa to hit was to release the stone off that area. And Taiju and Yuzuriha had to continue where Senku left off...or is that the case?

Senku's backstory, the beginning of mankind in the stone world, along with POV monkeys are such a chuckle.

This episode is on fire, aside from logic and mature thinking. Very impressive.

Well, im impressive with how Taiju thinks here XD
And knowing about Senku's petrified time looks good imo. Its like something missing is explained well here, like in episode 4 when we knew about Senku's past why he became obsessed with Science.

Beginning of this episode and Senkuu's "origin story" is like 5ch in manga so it cant be stuffed in 1 episode, but im sure that good part of the next episode will be Senkuu's origin( at least half of the episode)
Monkeys were soo funny to me when i was reading the manga and anime did a great job with adapting that and game like Achievements ....

Well, yeah, probably not the whole thing, I wouldn't know about it to that extent, but what we got in this episode, after the first half of it. The monkeys and the achievements were great too indeed.

That was a neat plan on Senku's part. That flashback on what Senku was doing before Taiju woke up was also neato.
Mankind knew that they cannot change society. So instead of reflecting on themselves, they blamed the beasts.

What kind of galaxy brain plan was that. Honestly that was a pretty enjoyable episode. Although I didn't really appreciate the cliffhanger getting extended, seeing how Senku (the shiny monkey) started from zero in the stone world.

Seeing Taiju lift that boulder gave me chills though dear lord.

This really shows its cracks in intense scenes- that overdramatic Shounen screenwriting that detracts from the atmosphere a lot.

Conversely the rest of the episode was pretty solid- clearly the style suits those kinds of scenes better

I thought that was clear in this episode that Taiju reacted on emotions and instincts but the rock part i would call that poor animation idk

Yeah the instinct thing is what I would call a huge coincidence (also known as an asspull). By the rock falling slowly I meant it fell slowly enough for Yuzuriha to think, run, throw and spread the gunpowder. Too slow. But as I said, it doesn't hinder my enjoyment because I always want to see what Senku does next.

not really , it fits with his character to think like that and act that way, an asspull would imply an implausibility which I don't think it was, as for the rock thing I have to rewatch it as I don't recall it being that dragged out, I interpreted it as going very quick but slowed to contextualize the response of the characters in that situation.
