I try to only work 5-6 hours shifts, so I don't really need any food, but I always take a drink with me. Aside from that, I do cook for myself, yes, and I don't go to restaurants or fast foods simply because I don't like their food and also don't wanna waste my money on it.

I only spend a little under $200 on food a month on myself (and lol at those below who spends $1,200 a month, brats are so spoiled and eat too much).

Usually I either skip lunch or make some rice and cooked veggies in the morning and bring it for lunch later that day.

When I'm at home I do. I take much value in my own diet, but not to the point of extremes, so I home-cook whenever I can.

Sometimes I make simple cheese sandwiches but most of the time I just buy something on my way to office. Not healthy at all but saves time. Even during school/college I never took a lunch box, I would eat something before going and then only have something after returning back.

Yeah, way back in the day I used to make my own school lunches. Ever since Jaime Oliver made school meals 'healthy' back in the early noughties. I still miss my Turkey Twizzlers, damn it! Who cares if they were only 34% turkey, they were bloody tasty!

I was fat as a child :(

I do, since I'd rather be content with what I'm about to eat. Doesn't take long either.

i don't really eat lunch. i usually have a small breakfast, a snack where lunch would normally be (granola bar, an apple, etc), and then a normal dinner.

As a college student, I usually just eat cheap cafeteria food or from cheap restaurants nearby. I wish I had the patience to wake up early and prepare my own lunches though 'cause I'm pretty much tired of all the food I eat there.

I usually try to make my own lunch. Problem is, there were times like last semester when I was in class with pretty much no break for hours. I couldn't pack anything that was perishable, so my usual lunch became one or two protein bars, a can of clams, and a piece of sugar free chocolate. Not very appealing, tbh. You start getting sick of it after a while. So every now and then, I'd get like a lettuce wrapped burger from Carl's, a sandwich from my uni's bookstore, or I'd try to find where they were giving out free food on campus. I might even do a little foodie run, find something interesting on Yelp, and go check it out if I have time.

If I have access to a fridge, like if I'm only going to work at the bookstore for the whole day, I'll cook something.
If I plan to eat my food soon or right away, I'll cook.
Its' all about whether I have refrigeration or not or how soon I'll be eating.
Also, I make my own food UNLESS I'm just bringing leftovers from my family's dinner like meatloaf or something.

Mostly putting a cheese sandwich together and go to work. Even if I forgot to bring some food, I can just walk to a shop and buy food there.
Once a month, I'm getting noodles from the stall at our campus (at least trying to, sometimes twice...)

Yeah, I make my own breakfast, lunch, and dinner since I live alone. Though most of the time I eat out but I need to stop doing that so much, I haven’t done the math but I estimate I spend at least 1200 USD on food a month ON MYSELF. If I were to cook food everyday for a week, I estimate it’d cost at the most $45.

Food for a week
Chicken/Salmon: $20
Rice: $6
Spinach/Broccoli: $7
Water: $6
Oatmeal: $3
Eggs: $4
Total: $46!!!!

But yeah I can’t eat the same shit everyday and I hate cooking.

Yeah, it's unhealthy and a waste of money to each the lunches sold at most schools and workplaces. Although to be fair before College I never had packed lunches, always went for the hot lunches served at school, and that was like the best part of my day but now it no longer is so maybe I should be buying delicious cooked lunches haha. I still treat myself to lunch at Five Guys after my monthly blood test for what it's worth.

No, of course not — I have an imouto with whom I have a creepy incestuous-rapey vibe going on that is actually male though one really couldn't ever tell that does that.

Finland has free school lunch so in school I ate the meal they served at the cafeteria. Now that I'm working and have mostly just two 12 minute breaks I eat something very quick like smoothies and sandwiches. It'd be nice to have proper lunch but that time is too short smh

Free school lunch would have been nice, but then again, I didn't have that many days afternoon classes.
btw.: you only get 2x 12 minutes breaks? I thought, you would also have 1h breaks:

Make my own ^^ The amount of money that can be saved is loads.

Usually I will make a dinner which I can also have for lunch the next day (like make 2 portions of curry and rice). Or if I am cooking a meal for just lunch I'll make enough for next couple of days.

If I do get lazy though I have a instant noodle lunch which works out to like 40p (Mi Goreng is the bestt) and have a good set of snacks throughout the day!

Ohhh no no, lunch breaks are 30 minutes and you only get one if you work a full 8 h day. 5 h - one 12 min break, 6-7 h - two 12 min breaks. I dont work full hours, my most common days are 6-7 hours, occasionally 8,5. I work customer service & cashier btw, theres different rules for different jobs I guess.

Oh I see. But still, a 30 minutes break should be the bare minimum imho if you work at least 6h. Also, while I would like to have only a 30 minutes break (or as long I as would need for eating) and then go home half an hour (or even more than that) earlier, in reality with staying behind for a little bit longer, I appreciate having had a longer break in which I can go for a walk after eating.

I make sandwiches and hide them around the office for my co-workers to find
Nobody ever eats them because it turns out you can't leave a tuna mayo sub roll behind the boiler for 5 hours and then expect Susan from HR to eat it, no matter how much you yell directly at her face.

Man lots of people here say they don't eat much... Couldn't live like that. I work 10-12 hour days so I eat quite a bit before, during and after work. Both me and my assistant always keep snacks around too. If you cook large meals for dinner then you have breakfast/lunch for the next day which is convenient so that's generally what I try to do. Cooking really isn't that bad and it's worth the effort you put into it as It'll be healthier and cheaper.
