| Hellsing Ultimate and kill la kill are tied for my favorite anime. Steins gate is a close but just not quite their tier in my opinion. Tekkon Kinkreet is by far my favorite anime movie. |

| Out of my top 10 (that you haven't already seen) there're a few that'd be a tough sell (I could be wrong though). However, after checking out shows you've scored 8+ there are more than a couple that I think you should enjoy: Nodame Cantabile -- Boring cover but I predict the female lead may even make your top 10. It's a romance with male tsundere and an endearing female. Lots of classical insert music (with background info which I really appreciated knowing next to nothing about classical music myself). Wolf Children -- Gorgeous movie with super cute cast of "wolf children" and one of the greatest anime moms ever. Heartwarming and cute. Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu -- It's actually the movie sequel that's in my top 10 (indeed, it's my top movie, period) but other than a few weaker episodes and the infamous Endless Eight arc the TV series is still very solid with an excellent cast (& award winning voice actors/actresses). Also, the Endless Eight arc can be mitigated by just watching two or three out of the eight (say the 1st two and the last or the 1st one and the last two, ie. the book ends). And then there's that movie sequel which is worth the 28 (or 23) episodes ahead of it. Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 -- It's a fantastic re-do of the '70's classic. Top notch OST and animation. For completeness I'll mention the "harder sells" in the rest of my top 10's: Maria-sama ga Miteru -- It's platonic yuri (termed Class S genre) but has a decided shoujo feel to it (except substituting girls for the guys). It become my fav TV series after one re-watch with the first season starting a bit slow with the feels train really picking up speed in succeeding seasons (there are four). Fyi, I'd never watched a shoujo-ai before and was promptly blown away by it (and kicking myself afterward for letting it sit in my PTW after grinding through some forgettable regular romances instead (of course there are some fantastic regular romances but more than a few duds, as well)). Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (Legend of the Galactic Heroes) -- I'm assuming there's some reason why you haven't watched it or even have it in your PTW (too old?). If updated graphics is a requirement then the currently airing re-make is pretty good (though I still prefer the original). Girls und Panzer -- A cute girls show done to perfection (that actually has some action and a goal for once). Add in a lively OST and accurately modeled WWII tanks -- it's cute girls and classic tanks: a match made in Heaven (unlikely though it seems). So Ra No Wo To -- Another cute girl show though this one has serious moments to complement the humorous ones. Top 3 OST and well-knit cast/voice acting put this into my Top 10 (over many other worthy candidates). |
