1. Delete any old forum pics (you probably don't need to do this, yet) 2. Upload your forum pic 3. Spam click the Submit button for 30 seconds to see if the avatar uploads And repeat- if you get a broken pic as your forum avatar, you need to remove that and start again. This works for me after a few tries at the most. |
| By avatar do you mean your forum avatar or your profile picture? Note that these two are separate things. Change your forum avatar from forum settings: https://myanimelist.net/editprofile.php?go=forumoptions Change your profile picture from picture tab: https://myanimelist.net/editprofile.php?go=picture |

I am having the same issues . I cannot load a forum avatar. I've tried different pictures and nothing will load. |

| Seems like lots of people are having this issue so I just tried to change my forum avatar to a gif and it seems to work for me. So yeah, follow what shishio-kun said above and it'll happen. Or hope that it does. |

| Tried the ten minute thing, waited a couple hours and nothing happened :/ @WeavileLord32 @lostnspace Here's a video of me using the spam click method to successfully upload an avatar. Try to copy the same steps. Worked for me a few times just now in testing, so I can confirm at least this works atm btw if you ever get the broken pic avatar error, you have to start over (pointed out at the end of the vid). Awesome, glad to see it worked! And it's a GIF :D btw if your forum pic changes to a broken pic icon later, you have to click Remove button under Remove Avatar again to remove the avatar and start again. But this probably won't happen it usually happens right away |

Like, in more or less the exact order of trying to delete the (forum) avatar, letting the crash happen, don't fuck around with anything for at least ten minutes, and upload something that fits both the dimensional and file size limits? | Well actually my latest forum avatar just went up instantly with no trouble or errors/crashes. If anyone is trying to upload an avatar this might be a great time to do it!! Maybe they fixed something tonight. However, it was also easy like this immediately after the last maintenance period, and it didn't last long (after a while, forum avatars had trouble again just like before the recent maintenance). |

I didn't even have to remove the old one first.
