| This was an odd episode.;; The introduction of Arthur and the way that entire scene went down was just... kinda messy. First, they composition was just plain weird. They were explaining stuff while pretty much facing the audience. Like...?? Please carry on. Don't mind us. And then the whole fight and the reasons it came about just seemed kinda forced. Meanwhile, the character interactions, aside from Iris and Maki's, seemed a little flat and awkward-- not just because the characters were awkward either. This was like solidified by the eating part. It's as if they didn't know how to work their dynamic... or darn near everyone's dynamic. Just really odd, stiff character interactions in this show overall so far. I do like Maki and hope they do more with her. Make her really stand out, ya know? |

| This series is actually a lot different than I expected. It's a 成長 anime with a group of kids training to become firefighters. I thought it would be just one kid joining adults. This way makes it a lot more accessible I think. The first half was comedic in tone introducing the new characters, but the second half in contrast tried to bring things back to reality showing the people actually effected by the random 焔ビト. A girl losing both her parents. And also showing glimpses of a mysterious man hinting that it might not actually be a natural phenomenon after all. Liking this show more, but I still feel like it's missing something. I think it's the cliche rivalry that kills this show a bit for me. Just a bit though. |

| i really wanted to like this show but i'm gonna give it one more episode before i decide if i want to drop. i guess it isn't smart to go in wanting a show like soul eater, but this show isn't even comparable. i agree that the directing is horrible. i felt like the construction of so many of the fight scenes and honestly just scenes in general were floaty and hard to follow. this is like tons of shounen cliches thrown into a blender with an outcome of just like. "that was okay." so, yeah disappointed. the animation wasn't bad though. |

If I can say something as a manga reader, imho it does get weird and interesting in a Soul Eater way (with cool fights too), while still being its own thing different from Soul Eater. The very start of the series is a bit annoying with its weird pacing and a lot of random thing happening tho, I was a bit disappointed when reading at first, but then once it really starts it never stops (I do think that the directing for the anime is not horrible and in fact really cool in a lot of scenes, but that's not my point here) |

| I'm curious if the whole "balancing a fucking dumbbell on your head" has any actual applications. Neck strength, maybe? I love how the OP cut off Shinra. That was funny. Wonder what was up with Iris seeing those flowers in the flames. Something tells me she has a tragic backstory, similar to Shinra. Nice fourth wall break, Fire Force. The Liteaunant is pretty terrifying. To be fair, she did look like an ogre. Nice Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo reference. So the Type 7 is just a gun disguised as an axe. I wonder if Infernializiation is hereditary. I love how genuinely good of a person Hijikata the Captain is. I thought it was weird that the house wasn't completely engulfed in flames, but I didn't realize it would result in such a touching scene. The fact that, as I'm typing this, the show only has an 8.03 is disgusting. We have a rival, we have an antagonist (I think), things are shaping up for Fire Force. Hope it doesn't get canceled because of the KyoAni situation, but that would be very understandable. |
| Both rookies know how to piss off a girl by calling her harsh names ^^; Maki showed no mercy! I didn't understand why the big flame Maki created have the name "Bobobo-bobo-bobo". Sounds like a tribute to the anime Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo which is not very creative -_-; the big flame deserve a better name like the little flame "Sputter"! Good episode and great action! :D |

Arthur + Excalibur added to the group Heavy episode, a reminder that these "monsters" they fight used to be human and their need for humility to respect the dead That sleepover talk at the end was nice. Love those moments when everyone's trying to sleep but you can't help but chitchat anyway |
| Better than the first episode, but the pacing (especially in battles) still feels very janky. Still don't really understand Maki's signature move and that fourth-wall breaking is just cringy. At least the story is progressing nicely with the setup of a potential villain. |

| Your most typical 'stock-shounen' episode and I'm getting flairs of Black Clover. He's a cool young buck! He's a knight, he swings his sword! At least devil is cool, this stock shounen knight character is downright terrible and arrogant. I can't figure this dude out at all. And then they fight a muscley woman. I'll leave it to you to figure out how cliche that is. They really showed their stuff! They're so talented! Huzzah! Everything about this ep was terrible. I hope they're able to correct course. This was so shounen the other shounens were laughing at it. It's like, this is shounen, correct? Correct. No characters have really distinguished themselves so far. They needed 5 and more people to handle a suburban drama? Bad look. |

| Hilarious how the opening interrupted Shinra's quibbling. I'm seeing a lot of people praising the opening and the endings even after the first time they hear it, I'm not judging, but I think it's going to take some more time from me to get used to, at least the opening will, as for the ending, I kind of started feeling its beat. |

| Arthur had a great ability with his power: an excalibur, plasma sword. His personality was funny af and pretend as a knight really served well as Shinra's rival. Aw Maki the ogre? Lmao, her expression was so funny. Poor with her fire mini monsters that got banished because her co tsundere man couldn't resisted their cuteness. The villain might be serious trouble. Like the surrounding between his appearance. Its pretty interesting part to be following up. Lets see.... |

More like self immolation lol but kidding aside, seeing as this show is pretentious, that they even have their own version of amen which is "latom" which tbh is just lame and ridiculous, then why not go all the way serious you know? Avoid the atrocious comedy because goddamn it's so bad. And why is that blond kid sound exactly the same as Shinra? These are two main characters, you'd think they'd have a more distinct voice but nope. |

| Shinra's new comrade turns out to be his rival from Academy... the sparing match was neat. Arthur even manages to piss off Maki in their first encounter and Shinra got nothing better to do but to piss her even more off, imagine mocking Maki when she already got that enraged expression and they just got their ass kicked lol |

| Well, the humour in the first half with Maki's fire minions was well complemented well with the serious and dark tone with the extinguishing of the father infernal of that family, was really such an emotional and moving scene😭. This anime really off to a good start👍 |

| Maki best girl!!!! And so Arthur is a chuunibyou?? Lololllll L O L when Obi took them to eat & reminding them to chew their ramen. Arthur & Shinra dynamics......CUTE Wowie, 2 standout scenes for me. When they walked into the home & the dad was just in flames sitting at the dining table & Arthur & Shinra putting aside their differences & talking to each other because they couldn’t sleep after that heavy reminder. |

| Oooh, we already got another character in the second episode. First I thought he would be pretty annoying, but he's actually kinda cool. That Maki though... funny, cute and sexy? That's overdoing it a bit, might already be best girl. Next seems to be the tournament arc, those are always my favorites :3 |
| don't know why but i didn't find the knight and mcs "rivalry" entertaining at All at the start there idk if its because of the pace they're talking at, how they talk or the dialogue but their banter before going to bed was pretty nice, i liked it maki's BOSSSS tho damn her fighting with Two 3rd gens and still winning, girls pretty simple tho. call her princess and she's happy, call her ogre and you're in hell also does the nun girl really only.. pray??? W?????? i think i probably blanked out on her introduction but if thats rly all she is then wtf😭 |
| A shounen MC is not complete without their rival, in this case, Shinra's rival is Arthur. He's your typical 'cool' rival, but there's one thing that I like about his relationship with Shinra though... They're not overly toxic to one another, so far, as long as none of them initiates the fight, they can get along pretty nicely and I like seeing that. This ep puts more emphasis on the morals the captain had when executing the infernals. It delves into the more sentimental aspect of the Special Fire Force's task. This in itself places a higher sense of reason in the units' task rather than them just going out to kill some 'monsters'. I'm glad that both Shinra and Arthur has respect for the morals the captain abide instead of outright ignoring them. I'm a little worried about this 'tournament' that's coming up, most of the time, it's never a good sign to see a tournament so early in the series, but well... Who knows? |
