2-cour or more, yeah!

Crazy hype! I’ve always said that what’s to come should all be in one season and I’m bloody happy it is!

if the manga is ending next year, it will have to be 3 cour.

Why? The manga is adapted until ch. 90. Currently the manga have 118 ch. If the manga ends next year, it means that only 7-18 chs left. 18 seems too high. So I would say only 10-12 chs left.
Which means they have to adapt 38-40 chs into 2 cour. It is completely possible. They adapted 40 chapters in S3.

Yes, you are right I miscalculated. Also forgot that they are adapting 2 chapter per episode instead of 1.2 chapters like previous seasons.

S3 part 1 skipped alot of material. Remember that Season 2 only adapted close to 16 chapters. Plus the chapters 91 onwards are quite dense. Alot happens in each chapter. If Im correct it should be 28-32 episodes or even close to 36.

It won't be JC Staff because both Kodansha and the IG Port know that that is a retarded decision. They are not OPM producers.
Besides, both Wada and Araki are producers. They wouldn't let it go to a Studio that it is not related in any way to WIT, Production IG or the producers in general. They should still be connected to the project.

Yes, S3 part 1 was rushed, and skipped many things, because the Uprising arc was full of non-action chapters, with lot of dialogs, and they didn't want to stretch it. Since the Marley arc is similar, with less action, but more dialogs, I would say they will do the same with that arc.

I'm pretty sure Isayama has told them when the manga is going to end, so they wouldn't call it the final season if they weren't sure its going to end soon.

I think fmab ending like the same month the final episode aired if I remember correctly.

Surely it's not gonna be one-cour this time around, but I wonder if 2-cour is enough to cover the rest of the manga.

I doubt that. I would say they are gonna be faithful this last season. The Marley Arc, while political too, it's executed very differently from the Uprising arc. Besides, the final pay off is much more satisfying than the one from the Uprising arc.
If anything they will add what they cutted out this season.

It should be. I saw a post on r/shingekinokyojin where they were debating the chapter per episode ratio and we came to the conclusion that you can do around 20 episodes with the 28 available chapters. Now adding the remaining chapters plus the cut out information from this season that should appear next season and a 25 to 30 episode season is very possible.

Lmfao it does not need to be anywhere near 36

@tzarye14 these 28 chapters will more likely be around 16 episodes in my opinion. Going by the adaptation so far, 2 dense info heavy chapters can still fit into one episode.

Why's that? They only changed the Uprising to keep the momentum from season 2. Season 4 doesn't carry any momentum because there's a timeskip and a change in focus. It doesn't make any sense to rearrange the arc structure.

To keep the momentum of Season 2? Lol, the start of season 3 was like that this is not even the same series as it was before. Literally there is no any transition between s2 and s3, and it is because of the rushed starting of s3.

It will not be called Season 4

It will be called The Final Season just like Fairy Tail latest season

And the reason for that is because Mista hates number 4

info doesnt matter. Its the dialogue that matters if you get what I mean. And, alot happens in the latest chapters. Not easily adaptable in my opinion.

Yea, but the 4 chapters (episodes 8 and 9) I referenced still had some of the most dialogue in the series. Mostly what I mean by dense, in general I think my point is we can't really say when they'll adapt 2 chapters vs one chapter. The most uneventful episodes this season (7, 10) only adapted 1, which many wouldn't have predicted to be the ones to do so.

It depends on the studio I guess lol. A two cour season means its probably going to have some big time animation.

I don't know if I should be happy or sad, but only a one year away for the last season is kind bad in my opinion, first I'm not sure if that's an enough time to adapt S4, like only some months to make a whole season??
And according to many of the manga readers, it should he 2 cours at least and some say 3 cours, which means 24+ episodes.
I know they were able to adapt a lot of chapters into only 12 episodes (S3 part 1) but it felt rushed and I knew later that they deleted a lot of the stuff which is really bad.

I wouldn't like them to have less than 24 episodes, and I fear the bad animation, because it seems that the next arc is the greatest arc, therefore, it would be a shame if they didn't give it justice.

Also, since it will be in fall 2020, then we're too close to the end of this majestic anime, and it scares me lol.

I wish, I really wish, they do a phenomenal job, and give their best.

Actually part 2 was inferior to part 1 in terms of the animation.

Nope, he is right. 2-cour shit is annoying. I would prefer one 24 ep ride instead of 2-12 ep cour, the time doesn't matter. I can live again 5 years without AoT, but waiting between two parts kills me

That would be the MOST ideal scenario, also if I recall, we will have a Shingeki the FINAL art exhibition in July to September, which will have an audio version of the manga's final chapter, that should give us a rough idea what to expect.

yeah, found the news: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2019-06-17/new-details-emerge-for-attack-on-titan-final-exhibition/.147951

PS: judging from the end credit teaser, I am more and more confident that Wit or Production IG will take over season 4, the style is a bit TOO distinct to be created by freelance animators.

@crybabynes , depends on scenes and their character tbh. Season 3 Part 1 had more scenes to include epic fights in the city, 'cause it was a battle between humans who used the omni-directional mobility gear. Season 3 Part 2 on the other hand had less chances for situations like that and was focused mostly on fighting titans. Animations for non-action scenes were equal. At least I see it that way.

@SerhaTR0483-2 , I would love to see the Final Season to not be divided into two or more parts, but again - if it was a condition of better overall quality, then I see no problems with it.
