What's your current smartphone brand?

Haven't been posting around these forums for a while. I'm curious to see what kind of smartphones MAL community is using as their daily driver. Would you recommend your current phone to another person? I'm currently using Vivo V5s, a mid-range phone from 2 years ago. I personally didn't really like the software of Vivo phones, thus I don't really recommend this brand to Android enthusiast. |

I use IPhone at the moment, but I used Samsung and HTC in the past. |

Currently using an Android LG Smartphone. Not exactly the best phone, but it gets the job done. |

I'm currently using an Iphone 6s, I'm not a fan of Apple and I wouldn't recommend my cellphone at all, just using because my old one was in a terrible state and this one came at hand. I was interested in the new Zenphone 6, but gettin a new phone now would be just a waste. |

As an advocate for free-software use of the products that I personally purchase, I cannot use an IPhone for more than 2 minutes. I own a somewhat out-dated Samsung S7 Edge. It's still in tip-top shape although I once cracked the screen while masturbating and had it replaced. |

Currently, I'm using an iPhone 7 since about 1 or 2 years (new), but the battery life nowadays is rather disappointing. I don't like the newer iPhones, because of the missing Touch Button, so at most, I would get an iPhone 8. My whole family except my grandmother ofc uses only iPhones by now, since it's much easier to manage and use, plus, the system stays supported for several years Else, I did and do have from time to time connectivity problems with mobile Internet, but it might have been also just my provider |

I got a redmi 5 plus a couple months ago. I'm personally not on my phone that much, so I guess it works well enough for me. The only thing I'm kind of annoyed about are the notification settings, bc they never work when you just set them through the app, you have to go and manually set them in the phone's notification settings for each app and that's like.. extra work I don't want to be doing? I have a flip phone that can't do much of anything but call and text, but I consider it a smart phone considering that I pay $3 a month for it compared to $30-$80 most people pay. Thats an anime plushie or a small figurine in savings every month! |

I use Redmi Note 4, and I didn't even want this. Parents forced it on me when I got into University. Anyways, my usage is limited to music, whatsapp, and instagram (for the sfw porn). So far, it hasn't given me any issues. I'd recommend it to anyone who's as casual about phones as I am. |

None — I'm that edgy. I have a tablet which has the internet capabilities except it doesn't do calls which I sometimes use for mobile internet but I really never find myself with the need to call when I'm outside and all of my contacts know to email me and not to call me. |

My (main) ZTE phone is not so "Smart", it's slow! especially after recent updates! - ZTE Majesty Pro Z798BL ($25 per month/unlimited calls/text) (only use this one for text/email) because I rarely use the "call" option. - LG Aristo MS210 (I only use this one at home as a mini tablet since it's 720p/1.5gb ram/16gb storage/8 megapixels camera>that's more than enough for me) but the size is slightly bigger than the one ^ above, so it's a little annoying to carry around (if you wanna use it outside). |

Samsung S9, which is a pretty damn good phone. S2 --> LG G3 --> Nexus 5X --> S7 Edge --> S9 has been my smartphone history as far as I remember. At this point I would probably only consider phones from the Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel lineups. Not that other brands are bad or anything, but those are what I know most about and feel most comfortable with. |

I have currently Samsung Galaxy S8. Before this one I had One Plus 5. They're both pretty nice. The reason I changed brand was just because One Plus phones have usually pretty massive screens and I like mine more compact. It's a matter of preference. However, I wouldn't ever use an iPhone over an Android. A lot of Apple's business strategies aim for exclusivity with the cost of user convenience (such as not using standard chargers and earbuds). This keeps the prices for them artificially high because anyone trying to make one for an Apple product has to pay royalties for the company. Not to mention Android phones just have a better customizability in general. Unless you have too much money and cannot use technology beyond their most basic features, I wouldn't recommend it. |

lol. I hate smartphones. In fact, I can't stand phones in general and only use them when necessary to make calls, so I only use a cheapo flip phone. When I want a computer, I'll use a computer. When I want a camera, I'll use a camera. (A real one.) DiscoDespot said: I have a flip phone that can't do much of anything but call and text, but I consider it a smart phone considering that I pay $3 a month for it compared to $30-$80 most people pay. Please tell me the model and plan name so I can make the switch. I hate paying over $30 a month for my phone service when I hardly ever use it. |

I use Samsung only cause they're pretty much the last flagship smartphone to have a headphone jack, but with their new ONE UI update, I'm just waiting for my contract to expire so I chuck this pos down the river. |

They probably would not be able to have Play Store preinstalled an alternative app store (though just the free apps iirc) exist already that many people use and works more or less the same way. It's not Android because that's brand property of Google. It probably is at least part Android based though if not entirely Android based. Also see my edit you had replied before I could send it. You are able to keep the phone you have now if you're only wanting a new phone out of being worried about dropped support for security updates. You just need to learn how to install custom roms and it will expand it's support for however long someone updates the code. |

Pixel 3 got RMA'd so I have a 3a for the moment. Decent phone but I'm not much of a power user anyway. Great camera wasted on me. Nice to have though. I'm excited to see what cheaper flagship alternatives like the Zenfone 6 can do. Tell those darn phone makers to knock it off with the 4-figure price tags. Folding phones are neat to see but are clearly a gen 1 product (based off the Fold breaking and Huawei delay) and need some time before becoming a product that more people should buy. |

The 3 is better, but I think the 3a holds up quite nicely. The step down in processor power will be noticeable if you put the two side by side and the UFS vs eMMC difference shows in apps opening faster on the 3. But again, I'm not a power user and the difference is pretty negligible. Haven't noticed any aggressive memory management but then again I open like 5 apps max in the background. ~2.9GB of RAM used according to dev options. I've disabled Digital Wellbeing (not sure if it matters on the 3a). Depending on where you are there are better value phones out there but if you're looking for stock Android, guaranteed updates, and a really good camera, I think this is good for you. Otherwise there are good flagships out there for around the same price. |

I think I'll get the OnePlus 7 pro next week, I don't mind big phones as long as I get to trade it with the notch on the S10. I don't know if I can get used to it since the teardrop one on my sibling's phone is already too much for me. Was considering the 3a because the price isn't very far off from the oneplus 7 in my country |
