I have watched season 1 and enjoyed it to a certain extent so I got worried I would get bored since the concept sounds hard to make interesting for a whole 4 seasons. But now that season 4 is coming out I don't know whether or not I should pick it back up?

After watching this anime about a 2 years back i thought to myself how tf is food interesting so i gave the show a 'taste' and basically i can say its got a well constructed story behind it and its kinda fun to watch for 'certain' parts.
It is a fun watch but it can get serious sometimes which gives the show a tension factor which i enjoy i tend to ignore all the foodgasms and stuff and i would recommend it. My fav part is when it gets to tournaments like 1v1 food battles or recently in 3rd season team battles start happening (i dont normally write long paragraphs like this i just had some extra time)

Yeah it is, it looks beautiful, has a fun and original plot, and you get hungry while watching.

Yes, it's absolutely worth watching. I'll be honest and say that I'm one of the (probably many) people who originally watched Food Wars because of the ecchi tag, and the whole food concept was something I'd just "deal with."

However, learning about food and cooking and watching the characters use food to convey their feelings and expertise becomes very inspiring to the point that you forget this is an ecchi anime and you just want to watch more cooking.

This ain't Martha Stewart where you just watch people stand around cooking. There is plenty of conflict, emotion, and excitement that are used to fuel intense cooking scenes. In reality, this is a school drama where the characters have steadfast beliefs, morals, and bonds, and cooking is used to convey that to their opposition, so it's beautiful to see those feelings come to life through food.

Uh 1st season yes but there's a decline in the animation starting in season 2 & the story starts undergoing a sheer drop in quality season 3.

I recommend just watching season 1 & ending it there unless you wanna get dissapointed.
I used to be a watchmaker.

It might depend on why you watch. I mainly watch for our main character (Souma), I don't like ecchi. Souma is the type of mc I want to see in more shows. He knows how to handle disadvantageous situations and doesn't back away easily, accepts defeat and tries to learn from it, doesn't b*tch, and has a good sense of comedy.

Nah, season 1 is enough, it gets progressively worse, the ecchi parts get flushed down and not even entertaining anymore, the food parts get boring real quick, the show looks way worse,...

Also I heard someone said there are going full sci-fi shits like using chainsaw or a damn bomb to cook in the future and the story is going to get fried-peanut-butter-tentacle-fucked, can't confirm though.

Well, its worth watching and for me I like all the characters and how they progress through out the story and somehow I was able to convince my self to like the plot also(barely, for some issues).
But overall it was good, you'd better give it a try.

Season 1 is definitely worth the watch. Now the subsequent seasons on the other hand...

Let's just say it get's progressively worse and worse. Even if you end up absolutely loving season 1, you might still get disappointed by the latter entries. At least that's what happened to me.

Season 1 is pretty good. Season 2 is still good. I liked it in some aspects more than Season 1 because it slowed the frenetic pace it was going with. Season 3 part 1 is eh. And Season 3 Part 2 I much prefer although it had the worst animation out of all. I hope that the year brake was enough for JC STAFF to reexamine their priorities.

I recommend skipping it. It's gets nonsense later on and has also a rushed finale. Clearly the author didn't give a fuck about it.

I would recommend watching it, of course it's not the best anime out there but I'm glad I spent the time on it. Season 1 was the best, the other 2 were also good though. I wasn't a big fan of the Central arch in Season 3 but I started to like it more during part 2.

It's good but spirals to shit after a certain arc. Whether or not this will be put into the anime this season remains to be seen.
Don't believe the hype.
