| the original is worth watching too but its much slower pace than Brotherhood but if you really gonna pick only one of them then choose Brotherhood |

| I loved both for different reasons. I started with Brotherhood a few years ago, then watched the original a few months ago. Both are great for different reasons. I recommend watching one of them now, then maybe watch the other a year or 2 or 3 from the time you finish whichever you watch. That way you won't be comparing them to each other. Then you can look at each of them as sort of... fraternal twins: both are very similar but not 100% the same, and you can still appreciate what each one brings to the table. Hopefully this made some sense :) |

the original is slower basically because the makers took into account the small period of time between the two series. Since both start the same way, why bother getting through the introductory part at the same pace? So, they simply squeezed it a lot and removed bits of adventure here and there, the first 12-15eps of the 2009 series being a mere summary with holes (who do not matter really for the whole background scenario of the series, Iadmit) |

It is generally considered to be one of the best anime of all time. As for 2003 version it's not bad but it's not as good as brotherhood if I have to rate it I would gave it 8/10. I guess nostalgia is one hell of a drug.  |
