| These new characters are alright, but this episode felt really off. There was a lot of serious exposition interrupted with random comedy. I don't really understand why it was set up in this way. Comedy is fine, but not just in the middle of the rest of the stuff. It was kind of hard to follow the dialogue. The bad guys that appeared at the end were also not super exciting to me. I also had to wonder how no one accidentally runs into the house by like drunkenly moving through the wall or like being a kid and playing. But then it occurred to me that these kinds of people would not be believed too seriously, so this works. I thought this was a cool idea. |

| I can't dislike Muzan for killing those 2 drunk animals. He tried to be nice twice. So there maybe is a way to turn Nezuko back. Some scenes that were supposed to be funny felt kind of annoying, especially because of that kid. |

| This is the most JRPG-esque item collection plot I've seen in a while. Demon Slayer has saturated my media sphere for the past few years, and while I enjoy ufotable works in general, I never got around to watching it. It's strange watching an ufotable anime with Yuki Kajiura music that isn't related to Fate, but I'm glad it works just as well. The only thing I knew about Demon Slayer going in was its apparent stellar visuals and Tanjirou being an upstanding protagonist that eats, sleeps, and breaths justice and compassion. From what I've seen, both hold true, and that's fine for me. I'm certain impressed at the visuals, particularly seeing ukiyo-e artwork in motion during Tanjirou's water forms. I'm also enjoying ufotable's animation, as the last time I've seen their work was in 2020 with the third Heaven's Feel film and the Tsukihime visual novel remake's trailer. It feels strange watching ufotable animating something that isn't Type-MOON nor Tales. I think the last time I've see something from that that wasn't either was Coyote Ragtime Show, and goodness that was a different time. Demon Slayer's plot is pretty simple, but that's not a criticism. If it means more focus can be placed on other areas such as its audiovisuals, I'm all for it. I'm pretty impressed, so I'll continue watching to see at what point it apparently garnered worldwide attention. |
