Napoli sacking Ancelotti right after they qualified to the next stage wth

I think that was their first win in 8 or 9 games but Italian owners are mental. We used to talk about which manager we'd get after every loss. One guy last about 4 games. Though we did boo the team off after we won but with 7 defenders on the pitch including 2 left backs trying to hold onto a 2-1 lead.

Now Gattuso took over Napoli.
I've checked around this situation in that club and looks like it was pretty much Club Prez vs the Players and Ancelotti and his crew found themselves in the middle of this mix.
He def didn't deserve this.

The more I look at it, the more I think that if Arsenal want a manager soon, Pochettino is basically the only reasonable option. I doubt Arteta would leave Manchester City before the summer. Are there any other coaches currently available that Arsenal fans would want?

The bloody ref destroyed sociedad-barça game, he clearly received prostitutes and drugs from real madrid. Well, barça played pretty awuful but the refereeing was garbage.

This is pretty nuts, far left fruit loops cause a game to be abandoned after calling a player a neo nazi and chanting threats.

Man, Real Madrid had tough potential opponents for R16 in the champions league after ending 2nd in table. They basically bottled that match at Bernabeu against PSG after leading 2-0 and lost atrociously (3-0) in Parc de Princes, so it was deserved. However, tbh, I’m glad Manchester city are their opponent. I would prefer them over Liverpool or Juve.

Pure chaos inside and out of the Camp Nou stadium during the El Clasico

For some reason luckily it ended a draw otherwise if one side won it would have been nuts.

Really don't know how fans are optimistic for United, lowest league position (before Christmas fixture) in the last 30 years. Some good results against top teams don't matter in the league if there are no wins against teams with compact defenses (lower ranked teams). After all, counter attacks don't work there so needs some creative play instead, and that has been the main weakness throughout this season.

Massive three points. It's still a bit early but I think Chelsea will finish Top 4. This was a fantastic result and it looks like they might actually keep on improving under Lampard. Won't be surprised if they challenge for the title as early as next season. They might not go all the way, but they are in the right direction.

Manchester United, I am afraid, will need many more years. This is the lowest they could get. The midfield was so bad. Garner and Levitt would do better than these first team players in the mid. Realistically, the Top 4 is gone for them. They will need to rely on Europa for UCL ticket which has Ajax, Inter Milan, Seville, Roma in the competition, much more better than United. United will have to rely on luck and avoid these teams. Otherwise, it's gonna be Europa league again for them next season at best. They might not even make Europe at all based on their league performance. Haha!

So after the so called racist abuse at the Spurs game. So far they can find no evidence if the Chelsea story (maybe several people booing can sound like monkey noises?) but a Chelsea fan has been arrested for racial abuse of Son. Now there's a shock.

I dunno what to think of this. On one hand, I wanna celebrate because it's difficult to see how we could lose this lead. On the other hand. I still haven't gotten over the scars form 13/14 and last season.

This is the exact reason why I'm afraid to celebrate yet. I'm not sure if I would celebrate even if we're 16 clear with 5 games left. From what I've seen, it's only been non-Liverpool fans saying that it' done and dusted now.

Spanish Supercup is gonna start, this mini tournament is set in Saudi Arabia.
FCB vs Atletico
Real vs Valencia
Weird and dumb choice to make it like that but what can you do about the corrupted spanish federation.
My guess is that Barça will lose against atletico because we play really bad and real will win the trophy with the help of the refs.

The mere idea of having more than 2 teams in a supercup completely goes against the whole point of having this trophy

Literally no one wants this change other than the football federation raking in the $$$

Wouldn't say that solely tbh. While the Spanish federation is the one taking the highest profits out of this with 133 million dollars in exchange for allowing Saudi Arabia to host the super cup for 3 years. Apparently, both Real Madrid and Barcelona will be getting 6.6 million dollars from this. To draw a comparison, UEFA gives 2.7 million euros (3 million dollars) per match won (900,000 euros for draws) in champions league, and winning the UCL final results in a 4 million euro (4.45 million dollars) prize for that match. The decision does not only concern the federation but also Saudi Arabia who is trying to revitalize its economy and go in newer directions as they will be making profits that offset the payment provided to the federation and teams and result in a positive net profit as well as encourage investment of local businessmen. I don’t see the problem. Morocco hosts super cups, and the Italian super cup was hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Every side is benefitting.

The only guys who are losing are the fans but of course they don't matter in these days when we have teams like rb leipzig and hoffenheim in bundesliga for no reason.

It would be nice if the entire la Liga moved to Saudi Arabia. That way the Saudis could see all the games from their stadium.

Valverde absolutely saved Madrid's ass with that tactical foul on Morata in the last 5 min. Good job though. It was either tactical foul or high risk of taking a goal. Man knew the odds and took the decision. Well that’s the first title for zidane on his second Madrid era. Let’s see how he’ll continue with this.

Speaking of Valverde... the other Valverde a.k.a Barcelona's coach seems to finally have been sacked after all this time. Quique Setién is stepping up to take over for the time being, at least until the end of the season but on a 2.5 year contract for now

It was only a matter of time.
2 consecutive embarrassing blunders in UCL knockouts over last 2 seasons were already bad enough, then you had last year’s Copa del Rey loss, and finally the loss in the Spanish super cup. I wouldn’t say he had a completely bad run with them. 2 La Liga titles, 1 Copa del Rey, and 1 super cup. Not bad for 2.5 seasons.

Barcelona is finished as they cannot find a player half as good as Messi who is showing decline which is understandable given the years of service. Barcelona will still have an outside chance but not like when Messi was in his prime. Other teams to have outside chances will be Juventus and Real Madrid but I can see Liverpool and Man City dominating Europe in this decade. They play the best football right now and have all the ingredients to keep on maintaining this high level in the coming years.

Teams with no chance in this decade: PSG and Manchester United. Both have lots of money but they don't know how to spend the money properly. The chance of Leicester City reaching the semi-finals of the UCL in the next few years will probably be higher than PSG and Man Utd.

Our majority shareholder, Delia Smith, was really taken by Roux and Auxerre. Their youth ideal and transfer strategy is something that we've tried to recreate here, to varying levels of success over the years. Currently going well in that regard.

He is already the holder of hattricks in four competitions at his age including Europe. That's a stat no one achieved at his age. Not even CR7.

This guy will be a star and with £17m, the bargain of the century knowing the transfer market in today's world.
