so it's that day again We've got no manager we had a transfer embargo for 80% of the transfer window Forestieri has been banned for 6 games for racism by the FA after being found not guilty in a court of law and we have to put up with the fact that our smaller neighbours are in the prem for at least a season and yet despite all that I am oddly confident this season.

Final finish head says 10th Heart says 6th

We have 16 new players so could finish anywhere between relegated and playoffs.

Terry was also found guilty in similar circumstances. It's interesting to note the scum did not ban him for like like they did with the recent fan who abused Sterling. A nice case of double standards.

FFP is a joke, teams are just selling their grounds to their owners who already own it to get around the rules. It was always about keeping the rich clubs rich.

So the Swans managed to sell Oli McBurnie to Sheffield United after all for £20mil. I know he did good for the Swans last season (alongside Dan James, who we've also sold making me extra worried about my team) but... 20 mil for a guy who was in the Scotland squad that couldn't even beat Kazakhstan? Really?

Good player but surely they could have gotten Neal Maupay for a similar fee.

Some good results for our EFL fans in here today.

Went to our pre season game with Toulouse this afternoon. Reckon we're smashing Liverpool on Friday night.

An away win at Stoke was a bit of a shock, that's the difference between a real manager and Holloway.

Everton has a nice talent in Moise Keane now. A bit weird that Juve agreed to sell him.

Fingers crossed Dybala joins Manu...
Can't help but feel that's a really dumb move by Juventus if that happens. I don't see how trying to trade Dybala for Lukaku really changes anything when you're still going to build the squad around Ronaldo as your central attacker either way. For their own sakes I don't think they should go through with it

Now if they're solely selling Dybala and skipping Lukaku then it makes a bit more sense but I still feel that's a bit naïve. Ronaldo won't be around forever and they're already trying to sell Moise Kean as is. Someone has to be left to carry the torch (and bringing in Icardi can't possibly be the answer)

Looks like the swap transfers won't happen now, good news. Should be interesting to see what's going to happen now, surely they must be planning some alternatives.

Seems like the Dybala-Lukaku swap isn’t going to happen:( I like Mandzukic, but if we get him instead of Dybala then I’m done with this club, lol.

Are you a Juventus fan by any chance? Because if that’s not the case, then I really don’t get how this is good news, lol.

Perhaps now but in a couple of seasons I'll be saying that about the time I met Ben Godfrey in spoons.

He often gets knackered going halfway around the world to sit on the bench for the Aussies so he will often miss games due to travelling.

He's not fantastic but not terrible, just a good centre midfielder who was on too much money now that we are cutting down on wages.

Just read the fee is £3m, I am very happy with that and that's what we signed him and another player for several years ago.

reckon he's only gonna be cover for the inevitable point in the season when Sam Hutchinson gets injured/red carded nice to see us buying players again though

Just sold Lucas Joao for 7m to Reading....just the 6 strikers on the books now

So City and Juve made a swap deal (+ some cash) with Cancelo for Danilo. Don't see that happening too often. Spurs look to be getting Lo Celso on the final day, and also seems like Lukaku will probably be joining Inter after all; his agent posted a pic on Instagram with him and Lukaku in a private jet and said they're going to Milano atm

It's hard to put all the blame on Zaha. No one knows what was promised behind closed doors. Palace selling so many players and not replacing them isn't exactly sending a positive message to your ambitious players. Also, the general understanding is that management had said if a "reasonable" offer ever came in for Zaha they would sell. I feel like Arsenal's offer was what Zaha is worth and Everton's offer is extremely reasonable.

I do dislike players signing long term deals and changing their mind after one year, though.

The amount they've signed Ramsey for is pretty atrocious, since they were able to get Rabiot.

Whereas we have 1 who is on loan but 52 midfielders as always. Hell we went 3 years without a RB after we sold Simpson to Leicester.

Aaaand Juventus apparently decided at the last second that they didn't want to sell Dybala after all. So much for that bait and switch

Lukaku to Inter officially announced now. Weird times we live in when £74M seems like an average sum

I was hoping to see that something had moved on this but it seems not. Probably means Farke and Webber rate our youngster Adam Idah enough.

Our media team at it again. lol

We did nothing today. Got pretty much everything we needed though despite spending next to nothing.

On the topic of squad numbers, no number 9 for us this season. Wonder who we were saving that for. Also our backup right back is number 3, that will undoubtedly annoy me a little this season.

If you could call squad numbers interesting our only really noticeable change is Todd Cantwell getting Hoolahan's old #14 shirts.

Seems like Leroy Sané is gonna miss more than half the season with a knee injury. Maybe Bayern are breathing a sigh of relief in secret that they didn't buy him after all

Norwich actually looked pretty decent, just some defensive errors which might be solved as the season progresses.

That City match was good too.

We'll still play pretty open but Zimmermann and Klose are far better players than Hanley. Krul did okay but Fahrmann has supposedly been the best goalkeepers in germany over the last few years. Also Amadu did well in france before earning big move to Sevilla, will likely be starting ahead of one of the defensive midfielders.

Not even in the bottom 3 as it stands. lol

Man Utd win 4 - 0 against Chelsea on the opening day yet I reckon the rest of the Premier League managers still fancy their chances against them. Football is weird at the moment.

I mean United and Chelsea both look pretty bad on paper this season either way. Wasn't expecting that kind of scoreline in-between them though. Then again 4-0 didn't really reflect how the game looked in practice, it was closer than that at least

To be fair, Chelsea had good control of the ball. It just their defense was really horrible which cost them to concede 4 goals, Zouma was complete trash.

>villa spend 140m, play okay but essentially park the bus, lose 3 - 1 to spurs

Look at that ambition, money well spent, Grealish is basically the next David Beckham

>sheffield united draw with bournemouth
phoaaar sticking with the overlapping cbs from last season, played brilliantly and billy sharp is a proper player

>norwich spend next to nothing, play good football, lose by one more goal away to the champions of europe with a depleted defense

Naive, shit at defending (so shit that it's the only defending they really talk about in the show, despite west ham conceding 5 and others conceding 3). Completely ignore how many chances we created and how well we moved the ball around. Shearer literally dug out Pukki for 'standing in the wrong place' from a throw in

I've sure missed Match of the Day.

>Friday's match against Norwich was only the 4th match at Anfield in which their opponents restricted Liverpool to fewer than 500 passes since the start of the 2017/18 season. The others were against Tottenham (twice) and Man City!

we also had more shots than any other opponent at Anfield last season.
