| I have to admit, the writing's already terrible, just coming along for the ride to see how the story ends. This is NOT about the Waves anymore, but the whole series as a conspiracy to lure us into this hole that we dive deep, and can be crawled out of. This episode... Motoyasu is still at his immature thinking that he can AND WILL defeat all evil. Despite his valorous attempts to flee off the Pope's insanely OP power that is backed up by the believers of the Three Heroes Church. Itsuki and Ren ARE FINALLY BACK, and the 4 heroes are pitted together to defeat the evil that is the Pope and their practices. Episode 16 or 17's end card is finally revealed why, and the Queen (and her Shadows) is in charge of that also. Still haven't seen her anywhere, maybe soon? Pope vs. the Melromarc Kingdom and the 4 heroes. As always, their reasoning is stifled at Naofumi's explanation, literally their wake-up call at their inabilities to understand the world at large. Naofumi > Itsuki > Ren > Motoyasu in head reasoning. Yeah, this looks like correct. Even Naofumi's party agrees. With the promise of Fitoria, they stand strong, united together. Aren't surprised that this is the calm before the storm, and the tiring Pope continues to be no pushover. Eerie feelings to be continued... |

| The story of this episode has seemed a bit lazy in every aspect, it does not have a clear reason why to gather them in one place, it is strange that all this happens at an accelerated pace and without so much deepening. Now as for the characters are just as idiots from the first episode ... |

| Even at 2x this episode was unbearable. I am pretty sure that if I were to make a top 10 list of most annoying anime characters, all 10 of them would be from this fucking bullshit series. Naofumi, Raphtalia, Filo, Spear Hero etc are all annoying af. Only 6 more episodes to go, wew. 1/5 for the episode. |

| At this point I just really do not care how the story will go. The pope is lame af and has to explain his actions. Most of the characters are annoying af and they just manage to get worse after each passing episode. I made it this far so I might as well watch it till the end. |

| Fuck how stupid are they all not to fight altogether in a desperate time of need when the Pope is still there and regained the trust of... Know what nevermind, this show's stupid and its characters are as bad as in other anime. Nothing is quite unique, except the premise in fact... I like how the Pope answers (in the subs I read) "Dear me, I can hardly bear to watch.", it describes so well this episode, and this anime if I weren't attracted by flashy fighting animation and an isekai premise. |

| Tmw the heroes stop in the middle of a battle to argue, instead of dealing with the Pope first who’s preparing to attack them. They’re a bunch of kids. Pope or Fitoria, plz kill them. |

| There it is! Finally, we get some of the sweet, sweet, justice porn that the series has been building towards for 18 episodes. Fanboys can rejoice that their justice blueballs have finally been relieved. Of course, I didn't expect it to happen in the middle of a major fight. I can't tell if this decision was a misguided attempt at levity, or if the writing is just that braindead. Regardless, this episode was completely boring and predictable, with no tension whatsoever. Next to nothing happened to advance the plot. The events from the last couple of episodes could have been compressed into an episode or even half an episode; but instead they've been dragged out to pad the runtime. This whole sequence with the pope is nothing more than a giant plot convenience to get all the heroes on the same page. Naturally, things end on yet another cliffhanger, because that is the only way that this show knows how to maintain interest or a semblance of suspense. What a joke. What I find most hilarious is that people are complaining that this show has gone downhill from the first four episodes. I'll readily agree that it's gotten worse, but seriously; the opening of this series was filled with as much lazy, inept writing as these later episodes. Complete with bad character development, plot conveniences, and forced edge. I guess all it takes for people to hail a series as the next masterpiece is an edgy hook, no matter how badly executed it might be. |

| I think the way to resolve things and work together better is for all FOUR of them to admit that they made some bad choices like being stubborn, ignorant, arrogant and what not. That's the only way they can start back at square one and put everything right. |

| I wonder why they do not replicate more of those weapons, they go around anoying the heroes instead of helping in the waves, Oh of course! someone has the answer that in the novels that weapon consumes much mana blah blah.... but at least it would appreciated that people who are not heroes will try to do something by the waves, but it is too much to ask a this story which breathes artificiality in every molecule of their existence. |

| Ok thats it. This anime is starting to annoy me so much with all the talking and just standing. Fight already(technically, they're fighting?but like its not). This anime fights is not its strong point that its so cringe to watch it. Im -1 rating on this anime. 6/10 now. I hope they improve the fight scenes. |

| Hmm so in the past the church led an attempt to create transformable weapons. Melty's comments really showed just much of a knowledge gap there is between her and her sister. Good to see that the Bow and Sword heroes managed to survive the church's trap. Naofumi's lecture of the heroes though was pretty amusing as it contained both undeniable facts and his own personal feelings as well. Despite his strong desire to not work with them its good that he remembered the promise to Fitoria. It was quite the impressive sight seeing the heroes and their allies stand together to face a common foe. Overall an excellent ep that while expanding upon the church's conspiracy also did well to allow Naofumi to express all of the frustrations that he had encountered in the past in relation to his fellow heroes. Looking forward to see how they fare against the pope and the church next ep. While i still view the spear hero as an idiot at least here he's more bearable because he at least is able to show that he can reflect on his errors to a degree. |

| That was way, way too slow. I get that Naofumi and the other Heroes have got a lot of issues to work through with each other, but the amount of time just spent standing around and talking was way too much; in reality, all that happened this episode was Ren and Itsuki returning and the Heroes reluctantly agreeing to work together. And frankly, that did not need to take an entire episode. |
