THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Very thrilling episode.

An unlikely ally contacts Giorno's group after Abbacchio's death. Hell, even The Arrow makes an interesting appearance this episode. What a sight to see! Interesting to see the anime also adapting into the Green Day and Oasis arc including appearance of Cioccolata.

Great episode, the backstory and all the tiny extra bits really added a lot to this arc so far.

It wasn't explicitely him in the manga iirc (it has been a while since I reread Part 5), another good addition by David Pro.

Good episode, we learned of the name of the boss, Diavolo, and we finally saw the scene with the man who, until his reveal, is usually referred to as The Mysterious Man. If you're an anime-only, I advise you, don't look up the voice actor for the Mysterious Man, because you might be spoiled. We also got a glimpse of the next arc, which IIRC is the longest Part 5 arc, right? I remember the manga having 14 chapters just for this fight. Anyway, it seems like David Production will put an end to the "Part 5 is the worst part" thing because the anime is becoming even better than the manga. As a manga reader, you have no idea how much I am excited for the upcoming moments in the series. For anime-onlies, you're in for good stuff!

Overall, 5/5

It wasn't, no. Prevailing assumption was that Diavolo (I am so glad I can finally use his name without needing to tag it) did them in himself.

This fight is gonna be great, potentially the best in the part, but I just want it all to be over to finally see what the hell DP is gonna do to adapt THAT moment.

I don't think the directing was very good in this episode especially when you compare it to the previous 5 episodes which were all kino. Still enjoyable.
And god damnit I love Doppio. I've never seen a character like him

So much revelations today, like the name of the Boss (I think we can finally say his name properly now that it has been revealed) and especially the origin of the Stands. They also made the identity of the man who contacts the gang a bit too obvious, especially if you look at certain detail when he's telling the story (which I'm not going to mention to avoid spoiling people, if there are people that aren't spoiled already).

I was afraid when the narrator started to talk about the backgrounds of Ciocolatta and Secco, since I thought for a moment they would skip the scene between Diavolo and Doppio in the plane (in the manga, if I remember well, it was Diavolo the one who told the story). Though it's not essential to the plot (other than to show that Doppio is currently going to Rome), I love it for the small interaction between Doppio and the little girl. It was beyond adorable, especially when Doppio politely returns to phone toy to the girl and she tries to talk with it after that. I loved that <3

Now we are directing towards one of the best fights of the whole manga. I really hope they give it the justice it deserves, because if they nail it, it will probably be one of the best battles of the year. Ciocolatta's design is neat and he sounds as creepy as I imagined, while Secco sounds as idiotic as I imagined (cannot wait to hear him more later). Man, I can't believe I am finally be able to watch this in motion...

Diavolo, the Devil. Dio, the God.

Well, it does make sense in an "Even evil has standards" way. Diavolo is a ruthless mob boss, but he has a clear goal and objectives. He wants to hide his identity and continue ruling as The Boss forever, and he dishes out extreme punishments for anyone pursuing his identity, but he doesn't just randomly kill people for sport. Recall how he told Doppio to spare the jerk taxi driver who was trying to bully him, and did not hurt the maid cleaning his room or the kid that saw him kill the fortune teller, or kill Trish's mom before all this, even though the latter two could have endangered his identity. He doesn't just kill for pleasure and thus finds Cioccolata sickening, but a useful and powerful underling.

Loved the phone calls between Doppio and Bossu in this episode. The one on the Sardinian shore had some nice foreshadowing.

The introduction of Cioccolata and Secco was pretty intense. They really made a point of how messed up the duo is, with even the boss calling them "the biggest pieces of shit in the world". The fight was amazing in the manga, and I cant wait to see it animated (especially the conclusion, which probably got spoiled already for most people).

My only problem with the episode is the look of Green Day's mold. It just looks... weird.

Cioccolata is one sadistic bastard, Secco is the worst with that camcorder. Imagine running to these fools in real life, then you would be F'd for real.

It's not entirely cause people to think its an asspull but more its a bit anticlimactic after it happens, though i would argue its (not really spoilers but just to not be a dick and set expectations)

Araki's power of creativity is over 9000.

That anonymous guy speaking on the computer is like L from Death Note speaking to Interpol. Plus the Death Note-like ending song. XD

Ice-cream phone 🤣 And luckily the one sitting next to Dippio on the plane is a little girl 🤣

Wow, even King Crimson feels some kind of disgust toward someone's sadism! This makes me curious to find out more about both the duo and KC. It's interesting how Diavolo values henchmen like Bucciarati and detests monsters like Cioccolata. It's intriguing how Diavolo's Passione gang tends to recruit the fallen outcasts of society, which makes me wonder if there's any altruistic motive on Diavolo's part.

"How can a Stand work like that?!" How can you say that as part of the JoJo cast, Bucci? 🤣

Hah, I like the name Diavolo! Perfect for the final boss.

I think another one of Bucci's gang is going to die before the final fight with the Boss :/ Araki's time to kill off protagonists has begun since last eps.
