Anything that totally focuses on yaoi or shonen ai (I don't mind homosexual relationships in other genres, such as in Yuri on Ice). Other than these, even with genres I don't feel like watching it is possible to make exceptions.

For example, I'm not into harems but fond of the Monogatari series. Ecchi is a hit-or-miss for me but Kill la Kill is in high esteem.

Even with hentai, which I loathe, I might make a couple of exceptions if there is something more than sex scenes to be shown such as aesthetics, a meaning, etc..

Isekai. They have the most poorly written plots and characters, and they just do not work as a good anime, in my opinion. The only isekais that I actually liked were Slime and Re Zero, and even these two got on my bad side at one point. After the traumatizing experience that I had with SAO and no game no life (don't know if this is an isekai, seems like it) I think it will be a while before i consider trying to get into isekai again

Sports
Ecchi
Romcom

I feel mostly bored when anime have these genres (aside from sports there are some good ones but I generally dislike it)

Shoujo. I just can't get into full on shoujo anime ("shoujo with twist" like Ore Monogatari and Skip Beat are fine, though). The girls are usually wishy-washy, weak willed doormats, and the guys are either weirdly effeminate (probably because they're written by women) or unrealistically "bishie". Not to mention, they really like to abuse misunderstandings to drag on the story.

Battle shounen. Loud obnoxious protagonists, too much exposition, predictable plot, plot armor, overuse of deus ex machina saves, nakama power ups, main characters conveniently getting resurrected, and the anime often overstay their welcome.

"Tearjerker" anime. Most of the ones I've watched were simply overly melodramatic and emotionally manipulative, using loud over-the-top music and close-ups of characters bawling their eyes out with tears the size of marbles, rather than being genuinely sad, because the writers know quite a lot of people instinctually start tearing up if they see crying faces.

Yaoi, me not being gay and all.

1. Mahou Shoujo - too repetitive/formulaic with their 'antagonist of the week' setup. And after the 5th time the transformation sequence just makes me want to bang my head against a wall until everything goes dark. Imagine what seeing it for the 50th time makes me want to do...

2. Harem - I just don't find the concept appealing at all, since it just feels like watered down romance without the emotional investment and without any development. And the tropes and comedy are all cringey and extremely repetitive too. Monogamous romance is the only romance I'm interested in and that will likely never change.

3. Yaoi - Because unlike most Yaoi authors, I don't think rape is a good thing and seeing people get raped into 'liking it' is even silly in doujins, where it belongs. Nevermind a romance that wants to be taken serious and have emotional impact.

4. Male Idol shows - Female idol stuff is already hit or miss for me since the idol setup itself doesn't do much for me, only how it is executed and what the comedy and drama and characters are like. If it doesn't even have the bonus of at least being cute to look at from my heterosexual perspective, it has almost no appeal to me.

5. Otome game adaptions - Not technically a genre, but while a lot of people say bad things about shoujo anime and their protagonists, I never really found that to be true except for some exceptions. Otome game adaptions however, they represent everything people think is wrong with shoujo, and worse.
I probably regret this post by now.

Isekais badly done. I just hate this concept of finding oneself in a video-game, because then a show somehow loses all its "realism" (lol), like we know animes aren'treal, but video-games too, and an anime about a computer game is too much, like for example a sad scene comes in someone dies or something, but I won't give a single damn about it, cos it's way too unreal.

The point is: if I wanted to experience a video-game, I'd play it god dammit. Like normal gameplays on yt weren't enough.

Cars and soccer because I hate them in real life. Idols, I don´t have a particular reason, I just don't like it and extreme ecchi, you know, those where you only see oppais out of nowhere, show me some story at least! (I love Prison School, it's kind of a guilty pleasure)

Harem. I just can't take it seriously.
The personalities of the characters annoy me at best and piss me off at worse. I don't mind shipping characters but I can't stand the whole fighting over the MC thing. They all act like idiots and it's pathetic. Combining that with Ecchi (and Fantasy as well) is just a recipe for disaster. Most of the comedic tropes they throw in just play off different scenes where they misunderstand or overreact to something stupid.
Ecchi, Comedy, Fantasy, and Romance genres I don't mind by themselves, but I dislike them when they're combined with Harems. Additionally, Harems are even worse when combined with Fantasy, but specifically the Isekai sub-genre; but I also don't dislike Isekai by itself most of the time
I'm not saying that they're objectively bad. I'm just saying I hate them.

I watch a bit of everything but, I just can't stand Gore. Slice of Life and Mecha, it depends... Never liked soccer, but love watching other kind of sports :)

Gore - I feel very uncomfortable when there's too much violence, including go to the extreme, like ripping some characters apart till their death º~º;

Slice of Life - When there's too much school life and less accomplish, it gets too boring. Also, if the MC doen't show the feelings by the time or doesn't take the initiative without ever openning their heart, it gets very boring as well (like it happened to the anime "Just Because", for example).

Mecha - It sometimes gets too predictable! The less the fighting, the better! Don't like to see them constantly fighting and get a lot of loses on top of it :/

Magical Girls - There was a time in my childhood that I loved watching every single episode related to this, but nowadays, I just can't stand it anymore! I am fine with some of them to be honest, but there are some MC's that her/his voice just irritates me and can't watch it X(

Soccer - Like I've said before, I've never liked soccer to beggin with. I like to see other sports like: Figure Skating, Volleyball, Badmington, Archery... but not Soccer. Soccer is the only one I will not watch because its not my style...

Both harems can be a turn off for me if they make the main character dumb and the rest of the opposite gender no matter how many are drooling over them. Although I gotta say Ouran Highschool Host Club , Kiss him not me, Strawberry 100%, Fruits Basket, Nisekoi , Uta no Prince-sama, the wallflower, Kamisama Kiss and Yona of the dawn were not too bad.

Well, I always thought that mecha and sports anime weren't really my thing... After some time passed, I became open to sports anime (such as Kuroko no Basket) but I always pushed them to the side...until I found out about Megalo Box (which I started, finished, and really liked.) I was pretty much the same way with mecha anime. The only difference was that I was much more willing to watch a mecha anime if it had something that could keep me interested. I started Darling in the Franxx (which I also liked) but haven't finished.

So, I guess that I can even get into the genres that I pretty much avoided/neglected for years. But there are only three kinds of anime I most likely won't ever watch:

-Idol anime (Other than Zombieland Saga, which is funny and has an unusual plot, the others seem boring.)

-Slice of Life (A lot of these seem boring too but I'm willing to watch one that has something to keep me watching. For example, I liked Blend S because of the humor and relationships.)

-Romance (I actually like romance when it comes to anime but I prefer it mixed in along with something such as action or even comedy or drama. I don't usually watch anime with romance as the main focus...)

I struggle with Slice Of Life (especially some of the insufferably boring sub-genres like Iyashikei or Idol) unless it has a really interesting premise. I also struggle with Sports and Sci-Fi unless it's really well written but there's not a lot of well executed Sports anime in my eyes and Sci-Fi is virtually never well executed I have no idea why anime can't get Sci-Fi right when it has the insane potential to even compete with Isekai. And Ecchi just plain annoys me I find that kind of humor incredibly unfunny I don't want to see any anime incorporate Ecchi elements let alone center the whole anime around it.

I cannot do Horror. Scary and/or gory stuff is very unappealing to me (both in and outside of anime). I’m fine with violent battle scenes here and there but not if it’s done over the top.

Creepy stuff makes my skin crawl in not a good way.

Most Harem anime is also annoying to me because the main character is either too dense to notice they’re being hit on or loves everyone equally. It’s not relatable to watch a bunch of characters fighting over the MC who often is boring and unremarkable.

Yeah, it's good, but at some parts ecchi was straight up forced and overused. Overall it's a funny anime.

Ecchi: Iif I wanted to see a female body... I have a mirror in my house, thank you.
Harem: I lately try to avoid it. I got the message.
Sci-fi: I always was the fantasy type rather than sci-fi.
Shounen ai: I have nothing against... just I don't care about it as much anymore...

Mecha: No... I just see these robots and say no.
Yuuri\shoujo ai: I have zero interest in that.

i find it so hard to get into fantasy anime, idol, and mecha. mecha just bc i dont find robots interesting, idol because every idol story is the same, and im not rly sure about fantasy.

i usually love stuff like that but whenever i see an anime is set in some fantasy world with demons and dragons etc, even if it just includes magical cats or something, i just cant get into it, even though they look so cute ;_; not sure why i cant keep focus on those ones

Well, not being too experienced in the anime world yet, I'm going to assume for now that it's safe to say my big one that carries over from non-anime tv series and films in general is romantic comedy-focused ones (so they would probably fall in the "Shoujo" demographic). I like romance with drama, I like elements of comedy and even romance and comedy together in manageable amounts with drama/adventure/action/etc., but just romcoms exclusively I cannot do.

I'm also going to go out on a limb and say most sports anime since I never enjoyed playing or watching most sports in real life and they're not an interest of mine at all and anything obnoxiously designed just to sell a toy product (not ruling out automatically series that are based on video games or card games as I have plans to watch Digimon or at least the third Tamers iteration, but there has to be more thematic/storytelling substance than JUST the advertising aspect).

Edit: Wanted to add comedy in general (it's fine when mixed with drama or other genres besides romance, but not comedy alone), and ecchi (which are just more pornographic romantic comedies to me).

Romance,Slice of life,comedy,and sports.

Comedy because it's rare to find a comedy anime that matches my sense of humor.

The others are there simply because I have no interest in those particular genre for the most part. Not really any deeper reasoning beyond that.

I don't like mecha especially when there's a lot of focus on the equipment and stuff. It's not at all interesting to me. I like isekai when it's done well but i hate them most of the time. Not exactly a genre but fantasy worlds with the same old creatures and stuff: always freakin adventurer guilds, elves, orcs, goblins, dragons and f'in DEMON LORDS.C'mon... does there always have to be a freakin demon lord.

Harem "romances", and is there such a thing as a romance with a harem?

The problem I have with harem is that the ship is never safe and there's not limits, if there's 3 girls why can't it be 4? And why can't it be 5? And so on...
Another problem is when the show baits the monogamy and then... Suddenly it's a harem(I'm looking at you, Arifureta.).

In most cases, the MAL Average Scores don't mean anything, here is a question: were the works made before 2000 all shit?
Why are they so damn scarce in the Top 50? Think about how MAL is quite literally a filtered amount of the Anime fanbase.

Here's a timeline of the Top 15 in which you can check that, almost always, the scores are affected by the freshness, popularity and other factors that have nothing to do with quality.

I find the idea of watching a slice of life anime pointless, because they'll obviously not have much going on.
I like romance, but not when it's the only focus, because then not much is going on.
Sports is something I can do myself, so I don't see the point in watching people play it.
Most comedy anime I find obnoxious.
Mecha I'm just not really interested in.

I'd like to say that I've watched at least one anime of every genre.
So I can say for sure what I like and what I don't like.

Harem/Reverse Harem
Because they've done nothing but pissed me off. I don't think I'll ever watch harem anime ever again. And it annoyed me to no end if an anime I'm watching have harem element in it. It's a TOTAL turn off for me.

Ecchi
At least the ecchi focused one. I see no point in watching it. I find them boring and the lewd jokes unfunny. I can still tolerate some that is only a subgenre.

Slice of Life/CGDCT
It simply bores me.

I'm also not a fan of romance/drama/comedy focused anime, but I can still watch them if I'm in the mood.

Albeit the only mechas I watched were EVA's movie and a few cartoonish awful mechas. I should probably try Gurren Lagann to cement my thought about it. I haven't had the chance tho.

CGDCT: boring, they make no sense and most characters are shallow AF. Some may be decent tho.

Idols: Same as CGDCT but even worse in every aspect and there is no redeeming qualities to them... the worst of anime imo. There is no good show of this genre imo.

Shows with an all female/male cast: most of them are just boring and they tend lack in every other aspect.

The last one is extremely biased though

Sarazainmai has a all male main casts
Many sport anime have a all male main casts
Still manage to tell an intriguing story due to how intimate those characters can get despite same gender.

There're some fantastic all female casts show too that's not about Idol or Cute girl thing.

Sometimes a different gender would just get in the way and become a needless distraction in the show (like some random romance in a sport anime, which is usually SHALLOW AND ATROCIOUS and force a couple in the end)
