Which scene from an anime did you dislike and how do you want to change that scene? I choose the scene in re:zero in which Rem and Subaru are talking for like 1 episode long. What I would change in the scene is that fucking Subaru doesn't reject Rem but accept her. |

But yeah, the entire point of the series is that Johan believes the only thing people are equal in is death, and that even the best of men can be pushed into the abyss. Thus, his obsession with Tenma (aside from the whole "you saved my life" thing). In Johan's eyes, Tenma is the epitome of humanity--the best it has to offer--and if even he could be pushed to kill in cold blood, then Johan would be proven right. Tenma understands this, and as hard as it is, he knows the right thing to do is to swallow that sick feeling of saving a horrific serial killer's life and, well, save his life. Because that would be the very act that proves Johan wrong. It would undo his twisted philosophy once and for all--Tenma had every reason, every motivation, every opportunity to blow his brains out, and yet he didn't. That's what Monster is about. |
This glorious signature image was created by @Mayumi! I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom: "Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news. In SAO II, Phantom Bullet arc: I'd have changed that final scene with the electrode in order to end it in another different way. Obviously, it's not necessary to make Kirito die, but still, changing that scene so it wouldn't be that Deus Ex Machina and still make Kirito survive the attack would make the whole season better. Seriously, that only scene ruined the whole arc for me. |

this scene from season III Is just so distracting. Is just there to shock the audience that Yuji the bad guy now. Is insulting to how amazing the rest of the season is and its a contradiction since its a fast forward to the future. But this scene never happens and you can't even fit it into any part where maybe its possible to have. Just remove that garbage and keep the part with Yuji disappearing and talking with Hebi while Shana and Yoshida are heart broken since those parts are amazing like almost everything else from the show |

The scene from Re:Zero is actually perfectly consistent with the circumstances and characters. I watched Re:Zero when I was pretty young in regards to this medium, yet I haven't had the kind of reaction everyone has shown. As for what I'd change it wouldn't be a scene that is consistent but I just don't personally like because it is the author's world not mine but I'd fix some plot holes. For example from Code Geass |

Re:Zero's biggest shortcoming, imo, was the fact that he was hellbent on protecting a girl that received half the amount of screen time that Rem did. Idk, I can understand why the scene was written that way, but I still would've enjoyed the series a lot more if he had a change of heart in that moment and took off with Rem, lol. |

Although Emilia is shown only 20 minutes less than Rem. It's kinda weird to explain, but if you consider the timeline where he has survived (not died in the eyes of others), Rem hasn't shared any of those tragic moments with him and Subaru knows this. Lastly, her interactions with Subaru is much lesser than his with Emilia's (something Rem herself admits to). It might have made 100x more sense for him to run away with Rem if Rem also remembered it all. Sadly, she doesn't. |

In any case, she appears much more manipulative of a person in the novels than she is in the anime. Whether this was the right behaviour from her side or not, I can never know. All I know is that this skipped content goes against her whole character arc of valuing herself more. If she wanted Subaru but also learnt how to value herself, then she shouldn't have come up with the polygamy idea in the first place, nor go to the extent of making Subaru confess that way. |

Did Rem really ask Emillia about that polygamy shit? What did Emillia say? :( I shit you not bro, this is pretty much the reason why I hate the romance between Rem and Subaru. It really feels scummy and arguably forced because of Rem. When I went just into the anime, I felt bad for Rem but also liked her character a LOT because she indicated signs of learning to value her self-worth. She seemed headstrong. It felt like a really good character arc conclusion. Note: It was also important for Rem to be focused more than Emilia because if Emilia took the spotlight in season 1, Rem would become very useless in the story (upto the latest events). She had to serve a purpose and it was to get Subaru back on his feet. On the other hand, Emilia could not get to do as much as Rem because Subaru's very own actions kept Emilia from even doing anything for him. Now Subaru on the other hand, I loved that character ( I still do ) because of his commitment to stay true to Emilia. Now with this polygamy shit in the mix, his confession to Emilia in episode 25 feels less sincere. Perhaps it actually was a sincere confession as a person can indeed fall in love with two people strongly , however, if one is to value self-worth and self-respect, you need to make a choice. Like for example, how would Subaru feel if Emilia came up to him and told him that she wishes to enter a polygamy with him and Julius ? Would Subaru agree to being '2nd husband' after Julius? We already saw how Subaru reacted to Emilia just getting kissed on the hands by Julius. lol. Polygamy is a rather hypocritical standpoint when it comes to 'self-respect'. It's as if I offered Subaru a choice to decide between an apple and a banana. He chooses both. That is the definition of being indecisive. Now I have my guesses as to why the author introduced polygamy and had Subaru readily agreeing to it. I feel it is to setup Subaru for failure later on, by bringing up a negative character trait of indecisiveness. Mainly because such a thing is too wishful of a scenario in a series like Re-Zero. In any case, the last thing I want is Emilia to be part of any polygamy, mainly because she is inexperienced in the whole concept of love where the anime ends. At the very least Arc 4 develops Subaru and Emilia's relationship in a gradual manner without any sort of this behaviour. It feels natural. You get to appreciate Emilia and how she feels about Subaru, and you also get to see how Subaru has had a wrong idea about who she actually is as a person. I won't spoil you much about when and where but Emilia does get to know about Subaru's feelings for Rem. In response to which she says is "I shall try my best to make him look my way". I feel this is a pretty reasonable and mature response. I would have preferred if REM also said the same thing, instead of bringing up that polygamy bullshit. Now it hasn't gotten to the point where polygamy question is raised once again but that type of ending just ruins the vibe for me. It also dampens Rem's character arc about learning self-respect and valuing herself more, instead of just being the 'inferior'/'compromise' or the cucky '2nd girl'. It is just whole kinds of weird. The author seems to have different plans for Rem's character....like she hasn't really gotten rid of her inferiority complex, so he plans to use this to introduce future conflicts. As for me, I sincerely don't care who Subaru ends up with. Pick 1. ANY ONE. Even Priscilla would do. Just none of this polygamy shit hahah. Sorry for the long reply, it turned into a rant. Just wanted to say that I had the same reaction as you. The author writes a lot of good multi-dimensional characters but for me he can never make polygamy appear like a good thing. I am somewhat confident that the polygamy won't happen because the author himself doesn't like harem endings but I can't give any guarantees to you yet. He loves messing up the readers. People praise Rem for a lot of reasons but they don't really get a read on her actual character. I won't deny her importance to Subaru but I really don't like her character as much as I did before. It also very funny that the anime carefully cut all the scenes that could even hint strongly towards the polygamy/faked death. XD |

@KreatorX dam, Now I'm kinda starting to dislike Rem lol. I loved Rem because of episode 18, but this polygamy shit ruined everything. I really hate polgamy, I always skip anime/manga if there is polgamy. I'm happy that Emilia didn't accept that shit and they don't bring that shit up later on in the series. I have a question about the novel. I have read the first 2 chapters of arc 4, but they were boring and Subaru was wey to cringey. When does arc 4 get good and does Subaru ever stop being cringey? |
