Yamamoto launched the romantic comedy manga in Gessan Mini, the supplement brochure to Gessan magazine in July 2012. After ending the serialization of Fudatsuki no Kyouko-chan in June 2016, Yamaoto transferred Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san to Gessan the following month. Shogakukan published the tenth volume on February 12. Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san has a cumulative 4.5 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation, including digital editions. The first season aired in Winter 2018 on the Anime no Me programming block, which also adapted Yamamoto's Ashita wa Doyoubi manga within the show. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles, while Funimation simultaneously streamed an English dub. Funimation also released the anime in North America on a Blu-ray volume on February 19.
