The Quintessential Quintuplets
| Vol 8 for the manga was released on Feb 15 and in just 2 or 3 days (I assume three, but IDK how to interpret this), it was able to sell nearly 126k copies on its first week at second after being on the shops for such a short time on the charts. Second week it then came at #1 with 84k copies which is still a lot compared to its first week. week 1:https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-02-27/japanese-comic-ranking-february-11-17/.143712 week 2: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-03-05/japanese-comic-ranking-february-18-24/.143992 Not only that, but Negi Haruba confirmed on Twitter that the series has now past 3 million copies already with only 8 volumes released (68 chapters in total). https://twitter.com/negi_haruba/status/1101041197873717249/photo/1 He also announced the series passed 1 mil in Oct and then 2.7 mil copies in early Feb 2019. So the series legit tripled in the span of 6 months with the help of the anime and due to the good story so far. Now in comparison to Domekano (since they're both romance shows for Winter 2019), this series has almost past the total sale numbers for Domekano, which it took nearly 5 years to reach (over 22 Vols and counting) and Gotoubun did it just a year and a half. Hell, I haven't seen any of the recent Volumes for Domestic appear on the top 50 charts since December, and that time it only sold 25k its first week. So I'm guessing this manga is not popular anymore in Japan, given how it's been non-stop annoying drama really. Gotoubun however has had at least on or two of its Volumes make the top 50 constantly each week in the top 50 and I don't see this stopping for a while. Honestly, if we don't get another season after seeing how big this is becoming idk what to make of it. |

| Not that I care about reviews but the user who gave Kaguya 5/10 and Gomikano 9/10 after 4 episodes retracted their reviews. So, props to them. We have way too many know-alls in MAL (me included lol). Also, like @Cognitive said, it's an insult to gotoubun. |
