| The art direction for this looks absolutely amazing, but then that's of no surprise when it's this guy doing it. Background artist on Akira, art director for Tekkon Kinkreet and Mutafukaz, background artist on Angel's Egg, background artist for My Neighbor Totoro.. And then with Ayumu Watanabe directing... Kenichi Konishi, who's done work on SO many classics from most of Satoshi Kon's films to many Ghibli films, doing both designs and key animation work, doing the character designs.. And THIS sound director who's also worked on many Ghibli films.. My hype is immeasurable and my day is saved. There are so many upcoming anime films right now from all the current great (and working) ani film directors (the industry really is booming and I'm really starting to wonder if we're entering some sort of golden age for anime films..), and I have to say this is the one I'm most hyped for. Superb material + more than superb staff. And a superb teaser. |
