| Anime of the year. At this point it doesn't even matter to me what else comes out this year. Last episode already won me over completely, but the emotional rollercoaster of this ep just proves that Mob season 2 is the whole package. They've nailed literally every single tone they've gone for at this point. Lighthearted fluff, comedy, angst, horror, grief. Not to mention the animation is somehow even more stellar than last season's. I am not budging on this. |

| i didn't expect the dark turn this episode took, and i'm really anxious to see how this fact is going to affect mob in the next one also, we've seen close to nothing about tsubomi, but i really like her??? she seems weird and smart and i think that's precious |

I am respecting Mob Psycho because to this point it didn't use the battle shounen tropes often, used them in a different/creative ways or even subverted some of them...and now this. I am not saying that the show is ruined or anything but this was definitely a cheap shot. |

And to be fair, the series doesn't try to subvert the tropes. Unlike OPM, Mob Psycho is a bona fide shonen series and has always relied on tasteful combination and execution of shonen cliches than subverting them.Rage=Power from s1ep3, traumatic flashbacks from s1ep5, fighting for family s1ep8, man vs nonhuman s2ep4, genjutsu and memory manipulation s2ep5, just to name a few. Heck, the finale for episode 1 of this season is downright predictable, but it's easily one of the more well-received episodes. Perhaps this episode's shift is a lot more shocking, and perhaps it rubs you the wrong way, but I don't think the shift alone deviates from ONE's approach to the series. |
