| The most I ever read of fanfics was when I used to twiddle my afternoons away on the Serebii forums. I read one or two, but that was about it, and I have no interest in reading fanfics these days. Anytime I do skim through a fanfic or even anime-inspired original work, what I typically find is the third thing the author's ever written, i.e., it's not very good. |

| Used to read a few when I was younger... To say the least, I actually went through a bif fanfiction reading phase as a kid but that faded as an adult, I used to write a few Akame ga Kill ones as well but that was only because the show and manga was so empty in terms of worldbuilding I felt it needed to have more added to it. |

| Anime fanfiction, or just fanfiction in general, are just another sign that people don't actually know how to write narratives. It's probably the most definitive proof that the ability to critique something is not a sign that you can create it yourself. I also consider a lot of the "original" fiction I see from people in with that lot since it's essentially glorified light novel fanfiction masquerading as original content. |
| Fan fictions have never been my cup o tea but I’ve read a few. Mainly Pokémon Special shit because I thirst for more pokespe content please this manga needs a bigger western fandom. I also have a buddy who used to look for the worst fucking Jojo fanfics possible and they would show them to me unwillingly |

| I read fanfiction if the ending of an anime or manga I liked is really disappointing and I want a retcon. For example, I think the fandom I've read the most fanfictions of is Hikaru no Go, because - without going to the specifics - the ending did not resolve ANYTHING. I seriously needed something to fill that void and fanfiction fit the bill nicely. I've also read a lot of fics on KuroFai ship (Tsubasa Chronicle). The entire story I expected them to legitimately get together because of the sheer blatantness of the romance there and CLAMP has had gay couples before. The point is, I needed some resolution that the canon story failed to give me. I mainly read on fanfiction.net. I tried out archiveofourown once, but the fics I saw there were way worse quality and mostly basically porn. |

| That's a yes to all three. You get some really, really good ones. Yes, even on ffnet. (I'm not going to go and list all my recommended ones here - PM me if you really want to know and I'll see if I can find you one based on something from your list.) You get some really, really bad ones. But, like, just don't read them? It's by no means all slash fics. I mean, some fandoms do lend themselves a bit better to it, and sometimes a work just seems to capture the imagination of many many fujoshis. (My Hero Academia comes to mind - I've seen a fic that had not a single straight pairing in the entirety of 1A. And yet? It was still a damn good fic.) And mine? I'd like to think I'm at least doing something a bit original. I can at least string a sentence together, and often I write because I haven't seen a thing done before and want to read that thing, but no-one else is going to create it so I have to. (Again, I'm not going to link it here, but please do PM me if you're interested in an 'Alternate Servants for Fate/Stay Night' fic that actually switches things up for a change.) Being original is rare, but it's easier than you'd think - all you have to do is write something that no-one's tried before. Unfortunately, so many people just don't bother to change things up enough and so we get "Deku has a quirk! Oh but like everything still happens the same as in the show anyway, can't possibly deviate." Or, for the same thing in old school, "Louise summons X badass from another series and he's awesome and nothing at all changes." |

| The fanfictions that I enjoy relating to Anime/Manga are romance ones, involving two characters who I desire to see happy together happen. Other Anime fanficitions can be a mixed bag for me, most of them have been not a good read in my case. |
