Confusion about Ami and Minori's feelings to Ryuuji

Howdy everyone.

I know i'm pretty late in watching this show (ten years since release), but i have some pondering questions about the relationships between the main characters.

1. Why didn't Minori accept Ryuuji's feelings and countless confessions to her? She was clearly crying in episode 24 where, at ami's house, they eloped, Ryuuji and Taiga, and after they left the door, Minori kneeled down and was sad about it.
If she was discontent about leaving Ryuuji for Taiga, then she should confess to him, than hide her feelings?

2. Why didn't Ami just confess her love to Ryuuji? I think they match pretty good together.
