Well prositution is based on sexual pleasure so i would say no

You can say that they sell herself for a fake act of love so yeah it’s pretty much a light type of prostitution

I think it is not a form of prostitution.

I did some research on the internet. As most of the related pages are in Japanese, I had to rely on some resume in English:
- the service is both rental girlfriend and boyfriend;
- it is very expensive! Like 250$ for a 4 hours date;
- it can be useful.

Try googleing for <rental boyfriend japan> and pick the first result :-)

This is not a prostitution service, although some might seek to. This is more of a consultation service. They even rent out Seniors, dad, Mom, and etc characters.
